Thank you Negalley! I loved this book. Oh my Gosh, this publisher makes good book. I enjoyed the dialogue, the plot. Everything!
really enjoyed this book so so much.
It was one of those books that I couldn’t wait to get a bit of free time to read it. It’s a second chance romance but it’s extremely realistic which I loved. Brown and Lina are separated heading for divorce but have to spend 10 days pretending to their friends that they’re still together. It forces them to deal with their problems head on and makes them both realise that they still love each other.
I was not expecting this book to be honest. The writing style wasnt for me but other than that it was actually insightfull, fun at times and also sad (i shed a few tears). When you're on your own relashionship you sometimes brush things off or put it aside. Not this book tho and it made me think a little bit and see thigs a bit different.
The blurb got me interested in this book because I love fake dating tropes, and I thought it would be interesting to read one in a marriage in crisis, which could potentially add an extra layer to the story.
Unfortunately, the humor did not work for me. Since humour is subjective, I advise you to disregard this.
The part I liked was that there was some clear chemistry between the leads, but the FMC's behaviour was awful. For this, the book did not work for me.
Another funny and addictive read by Hatch. It involves a funny take on fake dating and takes you through many different stories about individuals going through divorce proceedings.
It was a heat-warming and emotional read that had me gripped from the very beginning. The one thing I love about Hatch's books is that the banter never stops and it is never too much.
Jam packed of second chances, divorce and housing crisis, this is a brill read for any fans of romance, Emily Henry and Jessica Hatch herself.
Cute romcom. The banter between the two main characters is cute. I wasn’t connected to any of the characters to love the story but it’s a decent overall story.
Perhaps one of those books that I could not connect with. And therefore could not enjoy as much as I expected to. Reading the blurb I had a certain vision of what this book would entail. It was however different.
The cover, the title, and the description of this book are all designed to make it appear as though this book would be a rom-com,. Spoiler alert - it is not. I found the characters and their relationship a chore to read through. Lina is a perfectionist who makes decisions at the drop of a hat, and then gets mad at her husband for not jumping all in with her. The book is heavy on the miscommunication trope, and if it is possible for someone to "think something to death", Lina is the character to do that. We spend all our time in her head, so the reader actually knows very little about her husband at the end of the book, nor about why they should stay together. I, for one, certainly did not care at all about them by the end of the book.
Loved this story and the investment you feel towards the characters. Easy to make the emotional rollercoaster with Lina and Brown to see where this will all end up....
How To Keep A Husband For 10 Days by Jessica Hatch was a fun story about falling in love, bonding with friends, and fighting for something you believe in!

This was a first time read for me by this author, so I really didn't know what to expect. Based on the cover and the blurb, I was looking forward to a funny rom com, but the story definitely gave off a more serious vibe. The story relays the fact marriage has its ups and downs and that the dreamy-eyed, fluttering feelings don't really last and when things get real, it's not such an easy ride. Lina and Brown are married, but are about to break-up, only no one knows this, so when her friends announce they are coming to stay, she convinces her husband to pretend that they are still together. As they are forced to be a happily married couple again, Lina begins to second guess their decision to split. Is it possible Brown might feel the same?
I liked the premise of the story of them pretending to still be married. It gave them an opportunity to revisit their marriage and maybe see that all hope is not lost and they might still be able to work things out.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I was so excited to read this book and was not disappointed! The title— playing off of one of my favorite rom com movies: How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days— immediately caught my attention and I said “I have to read this!”
The entire cast of characters are lovable and hilarious, and seeing the friend group our main couple surrounds themselves with makes you love the evolution of Lina and Brown’s relationship even more

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture and Jessica Hatch for this ARC!
I went in with high expectations having read the synopsis and thinking this was a recipe for rom-com gold, however, the is zero humor is this book. Not that there are not moments where it’s enjoyable but those are few and scarce between. There was not much potential, a little more humor and banter would have been great for me to enjoy it more!
Thankyou to Netgalley, the publisher and Jessica Hatch for allowing me to have an ARC of this title.
This is my first title by this author and i really enjoyed it.
This book is for anyone who loves Romance genre.
I literally read this whole book on my night off from work.
I found myself feeling emotional at some points but mostly laughing so hard.
This book is HILARIOUS and you cannot wipe the smile off your face!
Lovely to curl up in bed and read on your comfort kindle.
Will read more from Jessica Hatch in the future.
Thankyou

How to Keep a Husband for Ten Days by Jessica Hatch is a witty and charming romantic comedy that follows the story of Evie, a woman who has just been dumped by her long-term boyfriend. In an attempt to move on and avoid the fate of becoming a spinster, Evie hatches a plan to keep a husband for ten days, believing that this will be enough time to rekindle her self-confidence and prove to her ex that she is not worthless.
The story takes readers on a rollercoaster of laughs and heartwarming moments as Evie tries to find her perfect man and keep him interested for the full ten days. The characters are well-written and relatable, and the dialogue is sharp and engaging. The author also manages to weave in some insightful commentary on societal pressures faced by women to settle down and find a partner.
Overall, How to Keep a Husband for Ten Days is an entertaining and uplifting read that will leave you feeling hopeful and empowered. It's a perfect pick for anyone looking for a light-hearted romantic comedy with a dash of self-discovery.
I appreciate the message that this story provides about putting in work to make a relationship work. But.....I didn't care for this book. The description of the book made it seem like its going to be a fun rom com to indulge reminding me of You Deserve Each Other. The characters were unlovable, it was either they were petty or clueless which is really bothersome for me. I took me over a month to finish it.
Super grateful to Netgalley for letting me read this one! It was such an uplifting read. I really enjoyed it. Lana and Brown had a normal relationship with the highs and lows but when the lows got to tough they went straight for divorce. When there friends were in need, they offered help and worked together and it also worked on their relationship. Making them stronger than they have been before, they fell back in love. Although i guessed the ending I was happy with it!
I tried hard to like this book but it was a struggle to read it. :( I don't know why... too many characters perhaps? And I didn't find it as funny as everyone promised it will be. I like the main characters, and it was cute they pretended to be married but....the plot or maybe pacing didn't work for me. I hope to love Jessica Hatch's next book.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Jessica Hatch for this ARC.
I was curious to read a different take on romance. How To Keep a Husband for Ten Days is kind of a twist on the fake dating trope. Brown and Linda have filed for divorce, but haven’t told their friends. So, they embark on a journey of pretend as they try to save their old building and neighborhood from gentrification. I enjoyed the first half more than the second, at some point the story loses momentum and becomes a bit repetitive. There are interesting side stories and characters, but it was not enough to keep me interested. Still, I was able to read it all the way through and enjoy the culmination of the stories.
