First and foremost I am a Freida McFadden die hard fan!!! Her books are addictive you can't just read one you have to read them all!!! Her books grab you from the very first page and I love the short action packed chapters!!! Never a dull moment in any of her books!!!
That being said this book did not disappoint!!! I love me some Millie and Enzo!!! Let me tell you that Freida McFadden gut punches you with her unexpected twist and this one was full of them!!! The ending made me give Millie an imaginary high five!!!
Thank you Freida McFadden, Netgalley and Bookouture for the incredible honor and pleasure of reading this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Twisty turning rollercoaster is just the way I love my books!!! My jaw is still on the floor from all the unexpected ways this story unfolded. I’m so thankful I was able to obtain an ARC from #Netgalley I’ve come to expect nothing short of epic from Frieda and she doesn’t disappoint in the wild ride that is #TheHousemaidsSecret #TheHousemaid #FriedaMcFadden #NetGalley
I really liked the first book in this series about Millie and was excited to be selected for an ARC on NetGalley for this second book!
It wastes no time getting into the meat of the story. It’s been a few years since the events of the first book, and Enzo has left for Italy. Millie is dating a (pretty perfect) lawyer named Brock, and struggling with money. She ends up getting hired for a job with a rich CEO and his wife as a housekeeper. The story goes from there and I don’t want to spoil anything!
It’s told in multiple viewpoints and is intriguing to read. I could not put it down! Definitely pick this one up when it’s out.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m not sure how Freida does it but her books just keep getting better! The Housemaid was and still is one of my favorite reads for 2022, but this sequel is just a delicious and twisty. My mind was blown so many times in this book and I LOVED every twisty second! I could not turn the pages fast enough. Freida book’s are just plain addictive!
If you haven’t already read The Housemaid, drop everything you are doing to read it and be ready for the release day of this sequel! You definitely won’t be disappointed.
***** Many thanks to Bookouture, Freida McFadden, and NetGalley for the gifted copy as it was provided to me in turn for my honest opinion.
I will be posting my review on Instagram (thriller_book_sisters) on 2/20/23 as part of the blog tour.
I have read almost every thriller that Freida has written. She is an author whose books I will always purchase without having to read a sample first. Like her other books, this one did not disappoint.
This book is a sequel to The Housemaid, one of my favorite of her books. It follows Millie, a main character from the first book. This book, like all of hers, is a very easy read with lots of twists. It captures you from the beginning, and you’re eager to finish the book to learn all the secrets.
Do yourself a favor, and become a Freida Readah!
The continuation of Millie’s story from The Housemaid was exactly what I hoped it would be. In general, I did like the first book more, but that’s how I am with most book series. I loved seeing where Millie ended up, since the end of The Housemaid kind of led up to a second book. Seeing her love interests, new jobs, and her working on her future career was so satisfying to me, but the story was filled with so many surprises that I could not put it down. This twisty thriller is sure to be loved by thriller lovers, and especially for those who loved the first book as much as I did! 4.5 out of 5 stars, rounding up to 5 on goodreads.
A big thank you to NetGalley, Freida McFadden, and Bookouture for providing me with this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.
I was super excited to see that I got approved for this one since I loved The Housemaid! I loved diving back into Millie's world. I was happy to see the same type of Freida McFadden plot unfold, but I was surprised that they weren't as many "crossover" plot points from the first book... at least that's what I was expecting! I loved the twist in this book a little bit more than the first, but I enjoyed each book so much! I will read anything Freida writes, and this one definitely delivered! Thank you so much for this ARC!
This was a great thriller. It had some unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed the different points of views of the characters. I would love another book especially with Millie and Enzo working as a team!
Freida does it again! She never disappoints and if you’re looking for a gripping and page turning thriller I recommend anything from Freida! Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced ebook!! I’ve been patiently awaiting this sequel and it was everything I expected and then some!!! Whip lash twists you’ll never see coming!! I really hope to see more of this series!!!
Millie and Enzo are back in a sequel that I never thought I needed! Millie is working for a tech billionaire, Douglas Garrick, who owns an enormous penthouse suite and asks Millie to cook and do some light housework. Douglas informs Millie not to bother his wife, Wendy, because she’s sick and never comes out of her room.
While Millie is cleaning, she notices a bloody handprint on the bathroom sink and blood drips leading to Wendy’s bedroom. Is Douglas beating his wife? Should she confront Wendy even though Douglas directly told her not to?
This book was so hard to put down and I didn’t see the twists coming! I don’t want to get into too many details about the book because I went into it blind and couldn’t believe the outcome of Millie’s misconceptions. I love how Millie meddles into other people’s lives and finds herself in inescapable situations. Nothing is as it seems and who can she trust after burning a few bridges? 🔥
Amazing! This book has many twists and turns and kept me wanting more the farther I got in the book. Very well written. Can’t wait for more!
I really enjoyed this sequel. Just like all of Freida's books it has a nice twist that I didn't fully see coming. I guessed a tiny bit of it only because I read the first book.
The writing was exciting and fast paced with a lot going on to keep you interested. It was great reading about Millie again.
Even though this is a sequel you don't need to read the first book to know what's going on.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves quick fast paced thrillers.
Freida McFadden has done it yet again! Every book of Freida's that I've read I have found to be very enjoyable, and The Housemaid's Secret is no exception.
The Housemaid's Secret is a sequel to The Housemaid, but you don't necessarily have to have read the first book to understand the plot (I highly recommend it, though!). She does a good job catching you up in a subtle way that doesn't feel redundant to the reader.
The story follows Millie, a housekeeper with a bit of a past. She's assigned to the luxurious NYC penthouse apartment of wealthy CEO Douglas Garrick and his wife Wendy. What starts out as a dream job quickly turns into a nightmare - one that Millie seems to be at the center of.
All of Freida's books are easy to read and pure escapism. She has a gift of blindsiding you with a twist you thought you saw coming, but were dead wrong. Freida weaves stories that keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more.
Warning: you may be kept up all night.
This is the first book I read from Freida McFadden and it won’t be my last. Very quick paced. I could not put it down! I need to go back and read the first book in the series!
)Am writing a joint review as I would be duplicating much of what say for both books 😎
WOW and WOW again, just when you might think you have read it all and maybe be a bit jaded these 2 books come along and you realise once again why you love reading
These are the kind of books you read before and during Christmas and are pleased you haven’t done your Top 10 books of the year ( if you do that ) as these would totally ruin any list I had made as they zoomed into that top 10
I seriously had to train myself not to ‘jump my eye’ to the end of each new page to see what was happening as was so keen and keyed up to see what was next, both books grabbed me, held me and kept me until the very last satisfying word, the only disappointment being I had finished and there was ( as yet ) no Book 3
Dark, light, scary, intoxicating, mega readable, fascinating, humorous at times, personable in it’s unique style and just a top reading experience that mesmerised me
If you haven’t read the first one you have to and then be ready for the next nerve jumping book end of feb
Both 10/10 and 5 Stars
Another great one by Freida Mcfdden. I didn’t see it coming!! I rate this book 5 out of 5 stats! I recommend this book to anyone who wants a great read!!
Possibly my favorite Freida novel yet! No, you don’t need to read The Housemaid first for the sequel to make sense. However, I suggest that you do just so you have a better connection of Millie and some of her memories. “Never Lie” (another McFadden novel) had great shock value, but “The Housemaid’s Secret” had a twist that I never saw coming but was totally believable. I believe the first book is going to be made into a film, so I hope the sequel is as well since I enjoyed it even more than the first! I received an ARC through NetGalley, but I will be recommending this to everyone right before its February release.
The housemaid's secret, I really enjoyed reading this book, I like this book more than the first one, such a page turner and with Freida's work you will surely look forward to the real plot...the housemaid's secret is a little different from other Freida books, it's kind of a mystery-thriller with a hint of romance. I recommend this book to those who loves to read mystery books. Freida's works aren't that much of a brutal and scary books that's why I really love it and I recommend it to everyone who loves to read mystery with a good plot.
Thank you to #netgalley , Freida McFadden & publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great sequel to the Housemaid. In true Freida fashion, there are lots of twists and turns and moments that my jaw literally dropped open. I love her writing so much, they make for quick but super fun reads.
I restrained myself from reading this book in one sitting, knowing that after I finished this book the next Freida book will be I dont know when.. I absolutely loved this book, as always I enjoyed reading it.. I'm not someone who reads and tries to figure out who done it but I just read and enjoy how each story is crafted by the Author..
Thank you so much for ARC and for the opportunity to review another Freida's masterpiece..
