She does it again!!! I remember reading the first book in less than 24 hours and I managed to do it again with this one 😂 I loved this one. Another great thriller. I was creeped out, it had me doubting what was going on and the twists 🤯 Definitely didn’t see that coming.

Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for an advanced ecopy in exchange for a honest review.

Incredible sequel. It’s usually hard to read a sequel that was as good as the first but this book did not disappoint. From page 1, you are already shocked and need to keep going until the very end. Did not expect the plot twist and the ending. It was a quick read, read in an afternoon. Of course, wishing there was more.. and maybe even a third book in the future would be incredible. Thank you Netgalley and Freida for the ARC.

Possibly my favorite book by this author as of yet! The twists and turns kept coming and I couldn't put the book down! Sometimes sequels can fall flat compared to the first book, but this one absolutely did not!!

The only one can beat Freida is Freida herself. After reading The Housemaid in March 2022, I thought there will be no other thriller that is able to be my Top 1 favourite thriller this year. But, I was wrong until I read The Housemaid’s Secret.

Millie works as a housemaid for rich couples. She has the skill in babysitting, cooking and cleaning etc. and in the community she has a reputation of helping out women.

Millie trusted Wendy Garrick, her new employer’s wife. Wendy was pathetic, always left some bruises on her face. Millie could smell there’s something wrong.

Follow by the what happened to Millie, Wendy and her husband Douglas Garrick. I’m immensely shocked by the twists. Mind-blowing masterpiece of thriller.

McFadden always comes through with a great mystery/thriller. I read the first which was great but dare I say this one was better. All the intrigue and twists, such a fun and quick read. Dont sleep on this one fellow readers.

Can Freida do no wrong?!

This is the sequel to ‘The Housemaid’ - if you haven’t read it, it’s not 100% necessary but I really recommend reading it before this one for character development and just better understanding of the story.

The Housemaid was fabulous - thrilling with lots of twists (think Verity meets the Last Mrs Parrish) but Thr Housemaid’s Secret was even better in my opinion. The first book took care of character development and setting the groundwork for Millie’s motivations and challenges and this book just told the best story! Loved the new characters, loved the plot and loved the twists- oh my gosh the twists. Two major twists - both of which I did not see coming!

This book will be released 20 February 2023 so do yourself a favour and set yourself an alarm (and read The Housemaid first).

Sipping thoughts: It's been 8 months since I was taken on a whirlwind journey with Millie and her antics as I read The Housemaid. I thoroughly enjoyed it and gave it 5 stars. Much to my surprise and excitement, a few months ago I read Freida's announcement in her Facebook group that she was writing a sequel that would follow Millie on a new journey. As excited as I was, I didn't think the sequel could be as good or better than the first. But I was wrong.
The Housemaid's Secret was such a good sequel with Millie just doing what Millie does best-pokes her nose in business that doesn't belong to her and get herself in deep trouble. I was so angered at Millie in both books due to some of her antics but she is so redeemable that I always root for her.
I was SO excited about being approved for this ARC and could not read it fast enough. I know we all say that all the time but I was legit in the Disney Universal Studios wait lines reading my kindle, on the plane, airport and Uber to Orlando reading my kindle, and in the elevators and hallways of my hotel reading my kindle. My kids even involved themselves asking me what percent had I read in different part of the theme park. I hope for all the McFreida's current and future fans that The Housemaid series continues because I can't get enough of Millie...and that sexy Enzo. And can we get a #Netflix series please?@Netflix

Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley, @fizzziatrist and @Bookouture for an advanced copy of @TheHousemaidsSecret.

Ahh amazing! I absolutely loved The Housemaid so I couldn’t wait to see what Millie would get into next. Short chapters, great pacing, and classic Freida twists made this a quick read that I couldn’t wait to get through to find out what happened!

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read the newest book from one of my favorite authors. I have enjoyed all of Freida McFadden's books so far and this one was no exception. The story gives a new adventure for Millie, the Housemaid, we met in the previous book. She gets mixed up with the wrong people and must figure her way out. I hope she eventually gets her degree in social work like me!
I would definitely recommend.

Millie’s back! I thought she was great in The Housemaid and was glad to see her reappear in a sequel. I always enjoy a clever and witty author and Freida McFadden is both. You could read this as a stand alone, but the first one really introduces Millie so I’d recommend reading them in order.

Since we left Millie she’s been going to community college to become a social worker and she has a boyfriend. She’s lost her job and is glad to find one doing housekeeping and cooking in a beautiful penthouse for a couple. The husband is who hires her and he mentions his wife has an illness. If the door is closed to the guest room, it’s best to leave her be. Millie can’t help feeling something in the household is wrong and she also has a strange feeling she’s being followed. That’s all I’ll say as to not spoil anything. I found this to be a quick and entertaining read and thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend both books to thriller fans.

Meh. I was so disappointed with this book. I love Freida McFadden and I absolutely loved The Housemaid. But this one just fell flat for me. Millie made herself out to be this tough woman who had been to prison but honestly she came off as a preppy cheerleader with a high ponytail. The character description did not match the character. I liked the plot which is very similar to most books I read but this one just didn’t pack the punch it needed. I rolled my eyes a lot. I read it one sitting so it is a fast easy read.

🍷 I really enjoyed The Housemaid and was so excited to get my hands on this ARC! Admittedly though, I tend to be a bit skeptical of series/duologies, etc. in this genre. But, this was woven together seamlessly.

🍷 The only thing that was missing was the suspense. Book 1 held a lot more fear for the unknown, but this one felt more like a mystery than it did a psychological thriller. I didn’t feel the threat.

🍷 But, I still felt like this was an excellent continuation from book 1, The Housemaid.

received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely wonderful! Great plot twist following the "hell hath no fury" storyline. I read it in one sitting and loved every second. I'm absolutely in love with the character Millie. She's a bada$$ and watching her growth was great. Another great book by Freida McFadden.

I have been waiting for a book just like this. Freida McFadden is brilliant. Each of her books gives us a twist that you never see coming. After reading the first book, The Housemaid, I knew I wanted more. While reading The Housemaid’s Secret, I was pleased to see the character Millie is back and the entire book had me in such anticipation of what would happen next! I could not put this one down.
The Housemaid’s Secret had more than one twist, and I never would have seen that one coming!
Thank you to Freida and Bookouture for this ARC on Netgally in return for an honest review.

Just wow! This was a great addition to the first book. Freida McFadden does it again with yet another amazing book with twists and turns that left me guessing right till the very last page. Can not give enough stars for this book! Must read!

Housemaid Millie is told “Don’t go in the guest bedroom. My wife…she’s very ill.” Since Millie desperately needs this job she tries her hardest to obey Douglas Garrick’s rule, but strange noises pique her interest enough to think about going against Mr. Garrick.
Freida McFadden does it again! This book has to be one of the best books I’ve read this year. I didn’t think anything could be better than the first book The Housemaid but this one has definitely surpassed my expectations. The twists and turns McFadden puts into her thriller novels is extraordinary. I will definitely be on the lookout for more thrillers in the future from her!

Thank you to Freida McFadden, Bookouture, and Netgalley for this extra early ARC!
