I am a huge fan of Peter Attia, and listen to him on numerous podcasts. I was very excited to read this title. My concern was that he tends towards more technical writing. I didn't find this book to be that way at all. It was easy to follow with practical, actionable advice. Attia provided a lot of examples and the science behind diet regulation and working out. Ultimately, many of his recommendations are accessible to many and boil down to common sense. I would have appreciated a deeper dive into rapamycin and more guidelines around statin and metformin use to provide me some background to discuss with my medical provider.
This book was well-written for the lay person, with enough medical details to make me think without overwhelming me. But the last section of the book that told of the author's own struggles with mental health seemed so disconnected from the rest of the book. I felt like I was reading 2 different books by 2 different authors. It was a bit disconcerting. While the entire book offered valuable information, it should have been 2 separate books marketed to different readers.
