Will and Annie engage in an adorable slow-burn fake dating scenario. The miscommunication trope is present and drags out the story a bit, but above all this is your classic light-hearted rom-com with plenty of bubbly banter and adorable antics.

A little less miscommunication and a little more spice would have really punched this story up, in my opinion.

I enjoyed this way more than I thought!! I loved the characters, setting, and aesthetic. Will and Annie had lots of growth individually and collectively. Lots of good tropes-small town romance, boy falls for the girl first, fake dating. All around a fun read for summer.

May all the Gods available bless the Author Sarah Adams for writing such masterpiece. And this isn't the first rodeo. The one word I would use to describe this book is: PERFECT. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! Got hooked in from the first page and the CHARACTERS!! I can't!! Anna-banana and polar opposite Wilbur are such a cute match! The sisterhood shenanigans and the secrets that come out at the very end, the small town onlookers that document every little thing under their radar, and the cameo of When in Rome vibes...like, are you trying to make me die?? Anyways, always a pleasure to read and review a book like this! Thank you and looking forward to future collaborations!

Sarah Adam’s does it again! You don’t need to read When In Rome first you can read it as a stand alone. The chemistry between Annie and Will is 🔥 and made me devour the book. If you love small town, fake dating troupes with not a whole lot of spice this book is for you.

Annie Walker runs a flower shop in the small town of Rome, Kentucky. She dreams of finding the perfect guy and breaking free of the sweet good girl persona that seems to plague her everywhere she goes. After reeling from a disastrous first date, she begins to feel hopeless when she is suddenly shocked by the solution to her problem: Will Griffin. Will I her sister-in-law to be Amelia’s body guard, one with a notorious bad boy heartbreaker reputation. Hesitant at first but ultimately Will agrees to be Annie’s teacher in dating and give her tips in helping her find the perfect guy. As the two spend more time together, their attraction and feelings towards one another grows into something neither one can continue on ignoring blurring the lines indefinitely and opening them up to romance made for the books.



This was such a cute and sweet romance! I really enjoyed how Annie and Will both have reputations that are polar opposite yet they complement each other so well. It was fun to read along as they grow and show the world who they really are taking huge steps forward and supporting one another. Will struggles with the idea of a relationship and fear of being left given his parents tumultuous relationship which ended in divorce. While Annie struggles to break free of the sweet innocent little sister stereotype she’s felt trapped in. They both work on their own struggles individually but also together as their relationship develops. This book had it all for me, it was very romantic and also had some hilarious moments and I was a huge fan of the character development in this one. Miscommunication was definitely a key factor to some conflicts but overall I really enjoyed this sweet romance! Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC of this novel In exchange for my honest review. Sarah Adams has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her books are definitely an auto-buy for me. I loved When in Rome. I've listened to the audiobook for it almost a dozen times so I wasn't sure how she was going to top that but she did it. She absolutely did it. I adore Practice Makes Perfect. Annie is the sweetest FMC. It's impossible not to fall in love with her. Will is definitely top-notch book boyfriend material. Sarah really knows how to write a hero. I loved how he card for Annie and encouraged her to be true to herself. She felt seen and a little part of me did too. (swoon) I love how his character evolved and he ended up working through the things holding him back and found happiness. I enjoyed going back to Rome, KY, and can't wait for the next book in this series.

Oh, where to begin with this lovable little gem! First of all, if you're looking for a pick-me-up, feel good, give-you-all-the-warm and fuzzies - pick up a Sarah Adams book. The small town in which this book takes place is very much like the one in Gilmore Girls, and I adore this setting. Annie and Will (Wilmer, Wilber, Willicent, Willinsky) balance each other perfectly. The banter was hilarious. There were so many little unexpected moments I loved. Highly recommended for all fans of the romance genre!

Practice Makes Perfect is the second of the When In Rome Books. While it can be read as a standalone, I think reading the first book definitely provides some context for the characters.

This was a cute book. After falling in love with When in Rome, I was excited to continue the story with Noah’s sister, Annie.

Annie is sick and tired of being treated as the sweet and pure member of her family, so when Amelia’s bodyguard Will comes back into town, Annie decides to strike up a deal with him to fake date her so she can learn to snag her forever fella. If only it was that simple!

I definitely enjoyed seeing both their personalities shine from their own POVs and seeing the pining that was happening behind the scenes. Just like When in Rome, this book definitely had angst which made up for the lack of spice I usually like to see in my romance books. I also had fun seeing the siblings interact and made me more excited for future books to come.

Overall, I had a good time reading this. It was a bit slower for me at times, and I took a couple breaks, but it’s great for someone looking for a fun, light read.

This was such a good story! I loved Will and Annie, and their mutual realizations that what they thought they wanted wasn’t what they wanted at all. I love a romance that makes you cry for the characters, and this one did.

Okay I'm missing out with Amelia and Noah. I did not read their story. I love how Will is, he gets into me in the first few chapters so fast. I am bit relating to what is going on with Annie and also with Will, I know someone who is afraid or not into commitment when in comes to dating. I also love the siblings it is a hug. I just feel this book so much. Definitely added to my tbr more of Sarah Adams books.

I really enjoyed Practice Makes Perfect! Our main characters had a lot of chemistry. Her family drove me insane. I actually read the first book (When in Rome) after this and was surprised that I liked this one more. I’m glad Annie got her voice and her family members were put in their place a bit!

Small town girl, Annie thinks she needs some lessons in dating so she can snag her perfect match. She propositions her soon to be sister-in-law's bodyguard for the job. He is reluctant at first because he doesn't want her to change, but can't tell sweet Annie, no. These lessons turn out to be more than either had imagined and things get confusing and steamy!

Practice Makes Perfect was a cute RomCom with a simple plot, and easy to love characters: I would say it checks all of the proverbial boxes.

Their small town in KY is made lovely through the town people, and I liked the relationship between the siblings.

I found Annie super annoying and she came off more immature than she did innocent, which made it hard for me to give the book 5 stars, and there wasn’t enough for a resistance or slow burn for me. The main characters internally battle not feeling things for one another, but there is very little self restraint so for that reason I would give it 3.

Overall, I can appreciate this story for the book it is, but I can’t recommend it if you are looking for something deeper and more complex than a boy meets girl and falls in love.

Sarah Adam’s is becoming one of my favorite authors. I love the small town atmosphere. I love the small town people. I love the banter between the main characters! This one was another hit for me!

Sarah Adams has become one of my new favorite authors. Witty and sometimes sarcastic, her characters just make sense.

um hello??? i was not expecting to love this cheesy little no spice/fade to black romantic comedy as much as i did. don’t get me wrong some aspects were cringey and beyond cheesy but that’s all to be expected and i didn’t cringe as hard as i have before when reading romances like this and you know…. maybe that’s because i will simply overlook anything and everything when will griffin is involved. um he’s perfect??? 10/10 absolutely my type of romcom book boyfriend. i also did end up really like annie’s character! i’ve seen so many other reviews talking about how they didn’t like her for various reasons but i’m here to tell you all she really was not that bad. i was expecting so much worse based on some of y’alls opinions. 👀

it was also fun to see amelia and noah return in this book! i wasn’t super attached to their characters or anything after reading when in rome but i appreciated the role they played as side characters in this novel and if you loved when in rome there’s a good bit of amelia and noah in here for you to hold onto! (BUT, i personally liked this one better out of the two🤭 is that a hot take??)

with all of that being said this is my new guilty pleasure romcom and i will continue to stan will griffin in my days to come.

I loved When in Rome by Sarah Adams so I was excited to get approved to read Practice Makes Perfect which happens in the same universe. I ate the story up. Will was perfection. Annie's character bothered me a bit more with her insecurities, but she came through in the end. I read this in two days at the beach and it was a perfect, romantic, quick read.

I can't wait to read Sarah Adam's next book!

This was the super sweet summer romance that I needed. I think this was such a fun way to spice up the stereotypical bodyguard trope. Instead of the FMC being the person protected, she is instead the sister of the person he is protecting. Add in fake dating, good communication, and an mmc that goes to therapy and I was sold. The only issue I had with this, is I found the FMC to be childish. Some of her cutesy dialogue had me rolling my eyes,

I have to say that I'm a big fan of the town of Rome, Kentucky, and its quirky residents. I was totally hooked on the author's last book, When in Rome, and couldn't wait to catch up with the gang in this new one, Practice Make Perfect. I loved Noah's bond with his sisters in the previous book, so I was delighted to learn that this story focuses on one of them. I absolutely adored "Angel" Annie. Her awkward, introverted, romance novel-loving character was charming and relatable. And how could I resist the sexy, swoon-worthy tattooed dreamboat of a bodyguard, Griffin? The chemistry between the two was undeniable, and their banter was off the charts. I enjoyed that Will saw Annie in a way that nobody else did, not even her family. Their interactions were so sweet! Their love story was beautiful to watch unfold; Will's supportiveness of Annie was perfection. Their emotional connection made the story so heartwarming and memorable. If you're a fan of cozy, opposites-attract romances with closed-door scenes, then I highly suggest giving this book a read.
