Another cheesy RomCom that might hit the spot for those who enjoy a quick read, but it fell flat for me because I disliked the main characters so much (mostly Ian). There are a few minor plot holes, so that doesn't help, but I also felt like the entire book was just missing something.

Vet based romances are way too cute, I've decided. Just like this cover! I loved the fake dating and kind of second chance aspect of this as well. Quite funny too. I didn't love Ian as much as I hoped, but maybe that's a me thing.

I wasn't able to get into this Rom Com. The story felt forced and I didn't find the characters interesting. I ended up DNFing it

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

This was a cute and fun read. Very lighthearted and easy flowing. This would make a great show and/or movie. I would also love to see this author expand out on a few books with the common theme of vet romance. If you love books with animals, vets and romance, this would be the book for you! I would recommend picking up today.

Any one that follows me knows that I love enemies to lovers. I should just get it tattooed on me at this point. It is my absolute favorite trope so having the opportunity to read about two rivals who work with my favorite things in the world, animals? HELL YEAH I'M IN!!

Though this book was a bit slow at times (I also lost my Kindle during this time frame and hit a major reading slump), I enjoyed the book. I loved the banter between the two main characters. Though if I am being honest and the reason I couldn't rate it a full 5/5, is that the characters were a bit forgettable. I can't even remember the MC and our love interest's name. I think his was Ian Todd but her's? I can't remember at all. It's like the characters were just two dimensional. Nothing that just jumped out at you to remember them by.

I love the actual clinical verbiage that was used throughout the book when dealing with patients. I greatly appreciate that. Some people don't realize how difficult the vet field is. I wish there had been just a little bit more description on that but that's not what our story was about. The love story between the two was very well developed but did happen very fast. I wish there was just a bit more buildup but at this point, I am just being nitpicky.

Overall, I did enjoy the book. I would definitively recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good enemies to lovers. Or anyone that loves the Irwins and wonder what it would be like if a rival conservation team came in to work with them.

Amber is a ER vet whose specialize in surgery and she is one of the character for a TV reality show. She is busy working her residency as an emergency vet. She is the main breadwinner for her siblings. The producer wants more drama in the show and have asked her to be in a fake romance to make the show more exciting. Entered Ian Todd who is a successful wildlife vet who’s his reality show is in jeopardy and he also need something to boast back his popularity. What the producer know was that both of them have a history before and their love/hate relationship with each other. Being together has definitely evoke all kinds emotion between both of them but they cannot deny that they still have the chemistry between them.

This book is a story about enemies to lover, 2nd romance between 2 veterinarians. I love Amber for her strong character and Ian for his support to Amber. Both of them are very likeable. The story plot is realistic with a well written storyline. Overall, it is an entertaining read to me

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book..
I’ve never read anything from this author but when I read what the book was about I knew it was what I was in the mood for.. It didn’t disappoint.. I enjoyed the fierce firecracker vet Amber who passionate about her patients as she is their owners.. The Hunky Dr Ian Todd doesn’t disappoint in his role as enemies to lovers story.. Their tale just makes you want to keep turning the pages well into the night and get you a like upset when you have to put the book down.. I would definitely read more from this author..
recommend..? Absolutely it was heart felt, funny and just a great read..
~Happy Reading~

I am a huge animal lover so I really enjoy when animals are a large part of a romance, I am also a secret reality show junkie so if this show was real I would be all over that.

I loved how passionate Amber is, although if I was called short as often as she is I'd lose it. I loved how she fought for her family but wish they didn't take as much advantage of her. I became invested in the character and made me want her to triumph.

Ian was ok as a character. Pretty typical romance hero, Resents the privileged family he comes from and just wants to work with animals and does what he has to.

I found this a great read, I got caught up in the story and was rooting for a HEA.

This was such a fun enemies to lovers romance. As someone who watches a lot of vet shows, I really loved the reality tv aspect of the story. It was fun seeing Amber and Ian interact and reflect on their time in vet school with one another and realize that while their past was not all sunshine, they pushed one another to be the best and were it not for that competition they wouldn’t be where they are now.

The thing that I loved about Amber the most was how she was willing to do whatever was necessary for the health and well-being of her patients, even go toe to toe with a senior vet to keep him from causing harm and possible death. I also loved seeing Amber interact with her foster siblings and the way that they all stuck together and helped one another out in life. Amber’s family and her relationship with them was the perfect contrast to Ian’s family. Ian’s family was so horrid that they were the perfect reminder that sometimes it is one’s found family who will be there for you to the end.

This was a quick and enjoyable read with a cast of characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. While this was my first Zoe Forward book, I have a feeling it won’t be my last.

4.5 stars, rounded up.

Okay here's the thing, I hate watching reality TV but I absolutely LOVE reading books set on reality TV sets. Unsure why, other than I find the drama much more fun reading about it haha. Take that and add in animals to make a reality TV show set in a vet hospital, omg love!! Add in a badass female lead that will do whatever she can for her patients?? LOVE IT!!! The fun enemies to lovers is a great plus, but honestly I would've been fine without it haha so it just pushes it over the top.

Honestly can't get over how much I loved Amber and Ian, both are amazing. I'd want both to be the vet for my pets, especially Amber haha. I loved their character development and their relationship development. It didn't feel rush at all, it felt natural which is a huge plus.

PSA, I was a little nervous about this one in case there was a bad animal case, because I will cry, and without spoiling anything, I never ended up crying over an animal.

When I tell you I loved this book, I mean it. I read it in one sitting, I couldn't stop! I thought it was a very unique plot and was executed great. I hope she does more vet romances!

If you're looking for a quick, hilarious read that has a big focus on animals, this one is for you!!

A HUGE thank you to NetGalley and the publish for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Doc Showmance is a fun, steamy rom com centered around two veterinarians starring in a reality TV show. I really enjoyed it although it took me a little longer to read than most romance novels. I like the characters a lot and their story, and it had just the right amount of drama in it to keep it interesting but not annoying. I thought it was a fun read, the chemistry between the characters was solid and there are lots of opportunities to expand the stories in this world.

A delightful romcom with an ACCURATE portrayal of veterinary medicine. Amber is an emergency veterinary surgeon. Ian is her old vet school friend now current enemy. They’re put together for reality tv. Some of the tv show aspects seem a little far fetched but who knows, never witnessed that. Fake dating, enemies to lovers, workplace romance.

This is a fun romcom about two vets that are forced to make a reality show together. Ian and Amber went to school together when they were in training to be a vet. After an awkward situation Amber wanted nothing to do with Ian. Unfortunately he starts to work at her clinic for the TV show. This is an interesting and engaging romcom and I really enjoyed the vet aspect. Pick this one up if you are looking for a well written and entertaining story.

As a person who works with animals, but rather in the care aspect, this was a fun book to read! I finished it quickly, only forgot to gave this a rating! The world building and character development were good and this was a great book overall!

Into the world of reality tv comes this charming rom-com that reunites two veterinarians after a Valentine's Day big misunderstanding when they were in school together. Told in dual POVs this tale of opposites attracting has the outspoken, strong-willed Amber Hardin paired with sexy fellow veterinarian Ian Todd in a fake relationship that soon becomes all too real. It's a relationship that has them forced into finally dealing with the past, forced into admitting the truth about how they once felt, and how they feel now and what that means for their futures.

This story definitely takes readers on a rollercoaster of emotions, brings out the best and the worst in its main characters, and touches on some compelling topics while warming hearts (and causing a few tears) through Amber and Ian's interactions with animals. I liked Amber the moment I saw her as she's a strong advocate for animals, an outspoken woman who goes above and beyond to help those in her care (those of the four-legged and two-legged variety too), and is a breath of fresh air who's a highlight of the reality tv show she's part of. That popularity is why she's chosen to start "fake dating" Ian and their reunion creates new obstacles to HEA even after dealing with their emotionally messy past. Amber hates the idea of taking money for her reuniting with Ian, but with a trio of foster siblings needing help she definitely needs the money. She's also reluctant to restart things with him since his future sees him leaving soon, fueled by his family seeing her as unworthy. Ian's the sunshine to Amber's grumpy, straightforward nature, the all-around nice guy who comes from a family of wealth. His family has plans for him...a rich, model-like woman...and Amber's the exact opposite of what they envision which adds extra bumps to their romantic road to something more.

With its Hallmark Channel feel, this book will take readers on an emotional journey that will make them smile, make them cry, and make them blush a time or two as two apparent opposites work their way towards HEA. Amidst the backdrop of the reality tv world, readers see manipulative agents and producers cite ratings as reasons to turn people into pawns, showing that "reality" is anything but real. The warm hearts of caring for animals was beautifully balanced with moments that hurt my heart in interactions that made me like Amber and Ian all the more. Emotional issues involving the foster care system, gambling addiction (involving Amber's foster brother, Marino), and the loss of loved ones (both human and animal) were all handled in a realistic and respectful way that drew me into the story too. A lot of issues were addressed throughout this story which I appreciated as these topics aren't normally seen, but it led to less time being spent on the relationship between Amber and Ian. In fact, their romance seemed to fly by in the blink of an eye. Despite the minimization of the romance I still found this a satisfying and entertaining tale. The main couple were compelling and had me rooting for them from the first page to the last. I'm especially excited for Ms. Forward's writing future after being introduced to Amber's foster siblings, an eclectic trio with messy and painful pasts of their own that I'd love to see dealt with in the future along with stories set in the world of veterinarians!

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Fun setup that ultimately falls flat: former college rivals and enemies are forced into a fake showmance for the reality TV show their veterinary clinic is a part of.

I did like the veterinary setting (romance writers write fewer cops and more vets please!), and the found family vibes that Ian finds with Amber's family. However, and maybe this is due to simply the mass amount of enemies-to-lovers books out there right now, the entire plot felt very cliched and if I have to read one more romance book where the FMC being short is mentioned every two seconds I will lose my god damn mind!!!!!
