Meghan Quinn delivers the spice, and the laughs and sometimes that's all a girl needs! This was such a fun read!
I will not be giving feedback on this title at this time. Unfortunately, I did not finish this book.
If you have ever read my reviews for Meghan Quinn's books they all have something along the lines of: "she can do no wrong" and "each book just keeps getting better".
Vacation Wars is NO different. I actually FELT like I was in the book. I was at that hotel. I could see the beautiful views, I could smell the food and sea air, I could feel the sun on my skin.
The story between the sisters was not my favourite to begin with, the forcefulness of Tessa's sister, Roxanne, was not something I would personally have endured but it brought Tessa and Myles together so whatever.
The pranks. Oh, how I laughed!
But Myles stole the show for me. He was simply amazing. His love for his country, his father and his dad's legacy as well as his strong belief in what he wanted for the future was a joy to read. Tessa was just going to be the icing on the cake. Until she wasn't.
The MEGHAN QUINN typical throat punch of a break up gutted me.
But it brought Tessa and her sister closer together. It brought Myles and his dad closer together. And ultimately, it rounded out the story so you're forgiven Meghan!
A beautiful, swoonworthy, hot story of a love that was always meant to be.
Meghan Quinn is always a great pick for contemporary romance. She writes characters that are fun to read. Tessa and Myles were fun, frothy, and an easy read. I think this book could have been shorter, but I do think that about the majority of Quinn's books. Overall, a good read.
the premise of this second-chance-ish romance had so much promise and I loved Tessa and Myles' chemistry once they met back up again after years and years of not seeing each other! my absolute favorite part of their story was how supportive Tessa was of Myles and his family. that alone would have made this one of my top favorite books ever.
however... the side plot/characters made this book almost completely unbearable. I couldn't get over how mean, childish, and selfish the girl group was. especiallyyy the conflict was over a contract made when they were in high school! I'm pretty sure none of them ever left high school based on their actions tbh. I'm glad Tessa's a bigger person than I am bc I definitely would never have been able to forgive them.
while Meghan Quinn will always be one of my favorite authors, Vacation Wars was unfortunately a miss for me.
This was such a fun summer read. Tessa & Myles had such a sweet connection, I loved seeing their little moments over the years. Like with every Meghan Quinn book, the humour and banter between the main characters was top notch. The side plot of Myles repairing his relationship with his father was great as well. The setting for this vacation romance was so dreamy and I really enjoyed my time reading this story.
Meghan quinn is a hit or miss for me but I liked this one. I liked the chemistry and the shennanigans
Now this is what I mean when I say I want a silly little romance to read by the pool!
Tessa and her family have holidayed at the same resort in Santorini since she was a little girl, and she’s always had a huge crush on Myles, the owner’s son.
This year they’re back for her twin sister’s wedding.
Her sister and friends aren’t forgetting the pact they made it high school - Tessa must find love before her sister’s wedding. The girls take it into their hands to find Tessa the perfect man whilst Tessa tries to turn them all off - and hence the ‘Vacation Wars’ begin.
Let me tell you these girls are awful. Awful awful friends but I was kind of able to just laugh along and get lost in the silliness.
And laugh along I did - I’m talking out loud numerous times.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I’m a sucker for a romance arc that stems from childhood and I loved how the couple shared little thoughts and feelings from many Summers previous.
The setting took me right back to the breathtaking Santorini and had me reminiscing about my trip a few years ago.
As I said a fabulous silly little romance that’s not life changing in anyway but has a 10/10 entertainment factor.
I’ll be picking up another Meghan Quinn for sure - her writing is hilarious!
2.5 Stars
I am a HUGE fan of MQ, but this book just wasn't for me. The main characters, Tessa and Myles, are great. The story concept had great potential, but Tessa's sisters and their "friends" were something straight out of Mean Girls. I didn't care for their pranks or antics at all. I felt so bad for Tessa and felt myself cringing more than laughing.

Thank you to Montlake for access to this book via NetGalley! These are my honest thoughts.
I ended up struggling to get into this one. I started the prologue and chapter one a loooong time ago, and it just sat on my kindle for a long time (: I noticed it was on KU with audio, so I switched to audio and plowed through it.
This book gets three stars. It was entertaining in the way Meghan Quinn books are. I love quirky FMCs, but Tessa and her sister/group of friends were overbearing and kind of mean. I never got to feel their true connection... it truly left me wondering why they're all still friends? They're on this vacation to celebrate Roxanne's upcoming wedding in a few weeks at the resort in Santorini where they've vacationed their whole lives, but the girl group didn't really seem to want to hang out together. One of them was constantly on facetime with her kids. One was talking about her lover often. And Tessa's twin becomes OBSESSED with setting her up, but it never felt like she actually wanted her to like the people they were setting her up with. And/or it didn't show that they knew her and loved her enough to pick men she'd actually be interested in?? This felt forced and mean.
I know the name of the book is VACATION WARS, which implies they go to war with each other, and I loved that the MMC jumped in to help her. I just wasn't sold on their connection. I expected more feelings if they were mutually crushing/pining for each other for... 18 years of their lives?
Was it a fun read? Yes. Would I recommend it from the rooftops? No. It's a beach read. With some cringey flirty/dialogue/a MMC that says "baba" about 100 too many times.
I absolutely love Meghan Quinn and this book was just absolutely adorable. I love her laugh out loud writing style!
This book wasn’t as great as I had been hoping. I didn’t love it, and I didn’t hate it. It’s just kind of middle ground for me. I normally love anything Meghan Quinn writes, but this book just wasn’t for me.
I didn’t love this from, I find her romcoms quite formulaic and character dialogue very forced. Thank you for this ARC but I like to be honest in my reviews.
Omg! Lmao!
This was a hard book to get through, I had to stop so many times because I was laughing so hard. And then when I would calm down Meghan hit me with another crazy scene.
Tessa and Myles relationship was so cute. I loved how they both were crushing on each other from a very young age and how it developed through the years.
Their encounters had me laughing so hard, Tessa was so awkward around Myles but he secretly loved it.
Her sister and friends had me laughing at all the crazy situations they put each other in. I loved how they kept their friendship bond so strong through the years.
Without giving anything away,
this book had all the feels and was such a great read.
It's now one of my favorites of Meghan's.
I really struggled with this book I didn’t think it was funny and thought it was an obvious plot line. Good holiday read for some people but not my taste in book or humour
Another fun && hilarious romance in the books! I will say, this one took me awhile to get into. Which is not normally the case for me when it comes to Meghan’s books. But once I was hooked, I refused to stop.
Tessa is on a trip to Greece with her sister && their friends a few weeks before her sisters wedding. Her family has vacationed there every summer since Tessa can remember, && ever since they started Tessa has always had a crush on the boy she see every summer. Myles. Myles’ family owns the resort they stay in && he has secretly always crushed on her since he was 14. Now they’re adults && both back at the resort.
I loved the development of their relationship! Tessa is such a hot mess when it comes to Myles && Myles for the most part can play it cool, but Tessa obviously made them nervous. There were scenes in this book that made me swoon && scenes that made me cry laughing. I loved them as a couple && their relationship.
Now Tessa’s relationship with her sister && friends.. was honestly awful. I constantly felt bad for Tessa && I couldn’t imagine why Tessa continuously hung out with them when they treated her so awful. I could have easily done without them in the book!
All in all, another fun quirky read from Meghan!
Once again M Quinn delivers a laugh out loud, swoony, and steamy romance. This story is unique. The setting is refreshing. And the heroine... well let's just say you will have second-hand embarrassment from her A LOT. Tessa is so quirky and awkward but you can't help but cheer for her. And Myles....SWOOOOON!!!
In the first part of this story, you will come to know Tessa and Myles' history, which goes back years, and all of the quirks of Tessa, her sister and their friends. The antics of these four girls took up quite a bit of the first part of the book, and I was just about over it all when it turned, and the depth of the story and the main characters took charge.
I loved Tessa's character development, and I loved the connection and chemistry between her & Myles. It was so organic and natural, and the way in which these two navigated their relationship and families who stood in their way kept me invested in their story until the very end.
This book will will leave you grinning, swooning over Myles, and shaking your head saying "no no no" to Tessa at times, yet loving all their quirks, passion and ease in which they can laugh with and at the other. Well done once again, M Quinn!
There were some aspects of this book a really enjoyed while there were other parts that were not my favourite. I found that I could not relate with the sister and the friends and the humour was not really for me! I look forward to reading other books by Meghan in the future!
I'm not sure why I didn't connect with this book but it just wasn't what I was looking for at the time. Still amazing writing by Meghan
A history that brought them closer and a romance that withstood everything. An absolutely hilarious love story!
