Meghan Quinn has never disappointed me before, and this book is no exception. Witty, brilliant, and just awkward enough to be relatable, Vacation Wars was another great read full of hilarious scenes (the nose booping made me cackle and startle my sleeping husband) and the vulnerability of learning to express emotions. I laughed out loud at parts and cried my eyes out in others, but all in all it was worth that happy ending. I couldn't put it down, reading through most of the night (when I definitely should've been sleeping), but I don't regret it one bit. I loved it, Meghan! Can't wait to read your next masterpiece ☺️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

What a great book! I’m a huge fan of Meghan Quinn’s books and, this one did not disappoint!
Tessa, her twin sister Roxanne, and two friends take a trip to Santorini to relax before Roxanne’s wedding that will take place there in three weeks. Instead of relaxing and having fun, Roxanne decides to “help” Tessa’s love life, and she’s determined to find her love. This was adorable and heartwarming. Tessa’s awkwardness had me laughing out loud! I obviously loved her and Miles relationship and their past. But what I also loved were the parts that touched on Miles and his dad, and Tessa and Roxanne. This was such a fun, charming, and hilarious read!

Ugh Meghan Meghan Meghan! I absolutely LOVE this author. She is a go to for me and I love everything I read by her!

This book was no exception! I loved the main characters, their chemistry and everything in-between. Like all of Meghans books this was filled with the best of the best romance and banter!

I really wanted to like this book I went in with high expectations. Tessa and her family vacation in the same Greek resort every year and since she was a teenager she had a crush on Myles son of the resort owner. Now she's there with her best friend and twin sister for her sisters wedding and runs into Myles again. Her friends are trying to set up based on a contract they signed in high school stating the rules they will by one being if single at 30 the other girls will find your match. Tessa goes to great lengths to avoid being set up and after some humiliating encounters Myles offers to help her because of course he's had a crush on her too. I did enjoy both the main characters and felt they were likeable and had some good character development. That being said I did not enjoy the friends/twin sister of Tessa. Their whole dynamic felt very juvenile and over the top they were supposed to be 30 years old all in committed relationships one with children and they acted like late teens with unlikable personalities and childish pranks. Her twin sister being the worst and I could not for the like of me figure out why any of them were still friends. There was some development with them towards the end that showed some maturity but it was a too late for me to really care about what happened to any of them. This as quick read had some funny moments and definitely had some spicy scenes. I want to thank Montlake and NetGalley for the digital arc of this novel in exchange for an honest review. I rated 3 starts rounded up from 2.75.

Thanks so much to Meghan Quinn and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own!

Vacation Wars follows Tessa Doukas as she returns to Santorini for her annual trip alongside her twin sister and two best friends. Often seen as the background twin, Tessa has been unlucky in love and carrying her childhood crush for the Greek lifeguard, Myles who just so happens to also be at the resort and trying to navigate his loyalty to his family.

Firstly this book was hilarious! Literally giggling to myself on every page. The interactions between the girls was so funny and I absolutely loved the one liners that were quite literally every single sentence. The humour alone is 5/5.

Secondly, I loved the way Myles and Tessa reunited, knowing that they both had feelings for each other made it even more better. The way Myles uplifted Tessa as she tries to overcome her insecurities especially when she’s been constantly compared to Roxane, her more daring and outgoing twin. I loved seeing how both characters had to balance their familial loyalties and their commitment to try and be together was so sweet!

Lastly, the conflict was excellent, practically realistic. I struggled seeing the sisters insecurities come to light and hated the way Tessa was overcome with the constant negative pointers about her life. Myles proved to be the perfect life partner since he never let Tessa fall for the toxic comments. Similarly, Myles trying to prove his commitment to his Baba was so admirable.

Overall, an excellent read. Both a love story and an ode to family, well paced and absolutely hilarious. Highly recommend!

I adore Meghan Quinn and her writing style just works for me, I also fall in love with every character she writes and this is no exception.

I love Tessa and Miles, I just need more of them in my life.

Childhood crush? Greek setting? Some romance and spice? What more could we want from a romance novel? Nice, light read to help me out of a reading slump! I'm excited for more Meghan books!

This book was amazing!! So different from
Other books I’ve read. It reminded me a lot of sisterhood of the traveling pants. I loved the friendships Tessa had with Lois and clea and of course her twin Roxane. Well written!! Loved it!

While I love MOST of Meghan Quinn’s female main characters, Tessa was a bit too quirky, for even me. Eventually the main characters grew on me but I struggled to get there. I think I would have given 5 stars if the quirkiness hadn’t gotten in the way of a lot of story. Maybe I just wasn’t in the mindset for Tessa at the moment. It’s a very cute read, The plot is great. The other characters were great. I’ll definitely try to reread after Vacation Wars is published.

Thank you Montlake, NetGalley, and the amazing Meghan Quinn for the opportunity to read this arc in exchange of my honest review.

A MEGHAN FREAKING QUINN ARC????? Are you kidding me??? I’ve never been so excited!

This book starts out explaining the past run ins of Tessa and The Bulge who we come to know as Miles. Tessa’s family visits Anissa’s Resort on Greece every year and every year she continues to crush on Miles. She hasn’t seen him for 7 years when she comes back to Greece for her twin sister’s wedding. But that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten about him.

Miles’ father owns Anissa’s and he’s worked around the resort for as long as he can remember with the exception of the last 7 years. He has spent this time in New York going to school for hospitality so he could better help his father run the resort. His return comes with anything but a warm welcome from his father though. But the girl he’s crushed on for years and years stumbles into him a few times and he can’t help but think that this could be the year it turns into something more.

I absolutely adored this book. I loved Tessa and Miles and the supporting characters were pretty great too, even though Roxane kinda sucks. I loved the vacation feels I got from reading it and the was able to enjoy the story page after page. I’ve never been so excited to read an arc I’ve received before! Meghan you did it again! I’ve already recommended this book to my friends for when it comes out and I will gladly be reading it again!

I received an ARC from NetGalley for my review.

Meghan quinn is in my top 5 authors and I absolutely love and adore her books.

The story was super cute and I liked the character development for everyone involved. There was some laugh out loud moments and the romance and spice was fantastic.

What I loved about how this was written that instead of flashback chapters that alot of authors would do to describe history, MQ just did a brief overview of their history at the beginning so that the book could focus on the here and now and I really appreciated this as sometimes flashbacks can be tiresome, boring and overdone. This was a breath of fresh air!

There were a few minor things with the writings (MQ writes "poetic" to describe something three times which annoyed me haha although basic I know)... I think after reading runaway groomsman and the meet cute books and three little words and see me in detention which were 5 star reads, this didn't quite get there for me and so 4 stars it is!

Regardless, MQ is the Queen of spicy romcoms and I love her lots

3.5 stars:

The positives are that this book had an amazing plot. The story was fun and I loved the last few chapters. So much feeling and emotion! Myles is the perfectly written beta male. It’s a nice change from the alpha-holes that are clogging the romance market.

The negatives, while minimal, really brought the story down for me. Tessa is, by far, the most annoying character I’ve ever read. I am positive that not a single human acts like that (I’m a middle school teacher of 15 years and if I’m annoyed by a behavior, you know it’s bad). I also found the whole girl group cringey (think The Office Scott’s Tots’ episode).

Overall just an okay read. I wonder which characters will get their own stories (please be Toby). 🤔🙏🏻

Thank you to Netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own.

I am kind of embarrassed to admit that this is my first Meghan Quinn book!!!!

What an adorable Rom-Com. This story sisters around Tessa who made a childhood pact with her sister to find her soulmate before her sister's wedding, "or else!"

Fast Forward - now Tessa's sister is getting married and she doesn't even have any candidates for a soulmate. Yep, you guessed it!!!! Her sister begins pushing her to mingle with all the attractive and available men all around her as they prepare for the wedding.

Ultimately, Tessa is drawn to her childhood crush, Myles and you can guess where it goes from there - flirting, good times, a little bit of conflict, before the ending we all know is coming. But we don't care because we root for this ending every single time.

The perfect little rom-com to lighten your reading mood! I highly recommend!

I absolutely loved it! It’s my first book by this author and I’ll definitely be picking up more. It’s was so funny and refreshing, I even liked the awkward scenes. There was only a couple of things towards the end that I felt like dragged on but overall solid read, I’d say 4-4.5 stars.

Tessa Doukas is the background twin. You know, the one who isn't remembered first, who's not in the spotlight, who doesn't wear the flashy clothes and command attention? Her twin sister Roxane is getting married at the beautiful resort on Santorini where Tessa's family has spent all of their summers. For some pre-wedding relaxation, Tessa and Roxane are joined by their lifelong BFFS Lois and Clea for a girls' trip to the resort.

Myles Cirillo's dad owns the resort where the Doukas have spent every summer. He remembers Tessa as a child, as a teenager, and as an awkward 20 year old, admiring her from afar and never saying more than just a few words to one another despite their long history. After being in New York for 7 years and missing Tessa's annual trip to his resort, he finds himself back in Greece dealing with a miserable father but also with an opportunity to get to know Tessa and help her deal with her BFFs' crazy scheme of forcing her to find a man through the oddest of strategies.

I read this book in one day. If it weren't for adult responsibilities (boo) I think I would have read it in one sitting. The setting of this novel makes it read like a fun getaway, but there's some real angst and truth in how the author builds the relationships between the characters. Roxane and Tessa were both frustrating but also inspiring. Myles at some points seemed too good to be true but was also multifaceted and likeable.

This had the humor of Meghan's many other books, the heat we've come to expect from her, and the depth to make the reader stop and think about their own priorities and how their relationships change, grow, and affect the other parts of their lives. Thanks for a great read!
