Although the starting was slow and characters a little hard to grasp, I loved the book. Wednesday is a lovely MC, who kids will relate to and enjoy. I liked how casual the LGBT family was, without stressing on it to make it stand out or seem weird.
The story is very short, even more so with the gorgeous illustrations accompanying the words. The little footnotes every few pages help children understand foreign terms about business and entrepreneurship.
I can't wait to get my hands on the prequels in the series and will keep a watch for additions. Must read for preteens (ages 9-12)
middle grade books are honestly always such a comfort read for me 💌
this was no exception. such a sweet and innocent read that only took me a day to finish.
i do feel like i would have enjoyed it more if i had read the other books about wednesday first since in this one we start right away without really getting to know the characters before the plot begins. but nonetheless i had fun, i felt so much for wednesday and her business and i also got so many cute and inspiring quotes out of this book. i love that she has two moms and how their family works, i'm lowkey jealous 😭
An adorable, quick read for young readers! Filled with humor and adventure, this book will be a fantastic addition to a young reader's library.
This is a great read for early chapter readers. It is easy to follow and understand, and the illustrations are great, too! I love that it addresses a different family dynamic which gives children the opportunity to see themselves and their families reflected in print. Wednesday is a spunky little girl, always utilizing creative solutions to accomplish her goals but doing so in a way that is provides a good lesson for her and her friends. Truly an enjoyable read, and I look forward to reading more of this series. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to review this book.
A really cute children's book about Wednesday and her friends in a story that encourages creative thinking and problem solving in which Wednesday and best friend Charlie work on new business ideas. They are helped by former friend Ruby and learn an important lesson about true friendship.
Thank you, Kids Can Press, for the advance reading copy.
This is such a good feel-good book for young readers with amazing illustrations that stand out and character focused as promised.
It is the story of Wednesday Wilson. I just love her! How she sees problems differently and how she tries to see the solutions instead!
I love, love, love the illustrations!
Now she’s growing up she has a strong sense of right and wrong. She just wouldn’t stay quiet or stand by if something wrong as much as any kind of bullying happens around her.
In this sequel, her friend leaves her for a more popular girl group the Emmas. Things are not as it seems towards the end. We will all learn a good lesson when we finish reading this book.
An amazing series so far!
Super cute and relaxing read. I wasn’t aware this was a series when I started but ultimately still found this enjoyable.
Wednesday is always looking for a new business idea as a hissing entrepreneur. This book shows LGBTQ+ relationship representation. I wish it had done more to highlight that even though her business idea has to do with makeup there is still beauty in being yourself without makeup.
I'm giving this book 5 stars because I think my beginning chapter book readers would really enjoy it. It is quick-paced, fun, and engaging. The text is well-supported by Morgan Goble's super-cute illustrations. I love that Wednesday's a budding entrepreneur like her moms, and many business/economics concepts are introduced in a easy-to-understand and kid-friendly way. I'm a sucker for a good footnote, and they were used well in this book to clarify new terms. While this is part of a series, it could easily be read and understood on its own.
This is a story that I would recommend for early readers. It is part of an early reader chapter book series. I love the color and the illustration in the book is well done.
This is such a great story about friendship, perseverance, and communication. Wednesday is a phenomenal main character and Charlie, Ruby, and Mister round out a great group of characters. I absolutely loved all of the great rep featured in the story: two moms, POC characters, a brother studying to become a makeup artist - these kinds of stories are great for kids to see. I would definitely share this with my nieces and nephews, as well as my own child once he’s older. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cute book for your kids.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
My ten year old would absolutely love this book about Wednesday.
Lovely representation in the book as well as wondeful representation.

This was an adorable, short and relaxing read! The explanation of all the words connected to business that may be hard to grasp for kids, the lgbtq+ representation and all the compliments about freckles were all very nice to see in a children's book! This isn't the first book about Wednesday, which is something I wasn't aware of before I started reading this. However I still quickly adapted to the surroundings and the book's characters so I honestly think that this can be read as a standalone.
Also the illustrations were super cute!!
📝 My Rating: 4/5 ⭐

A good book for maybe middle school or high elementary age kids to read. Definitely will be a hit if you have a mini entrepreneur. Also the art is *chefs kiss*
