My 10 year old son read this book in one sitting! He absolutely loved it. He was learning about weather in school and wanted to read something that correlated to it. This was perfect!!! He said the pictures were awesome and learned a lot that he didn’t already know!! Thank you for creating a book that helps my son love to read again!!

Zeke the Weather Geek: there’s a Lizard in my Blizzard. This is a great factual book for children and teachers alike. The information about blizzards on page 93 was extremely interesting

Excellent book for kid looking for why our weather is so variable and contrary. Also tells about understanding family dynamics as well as how a pet lizard is as good as a pet dog. Love the way there are breaks in the story that explains how temperature affects everything, for example. The mages are a perfect accompaniment to the book. Overall an educational story mixed in with a family tale that works really nicely together.

This fun early chapterbook tells the story of Zeke, a young boy who loves the weather. The book is broken up into short chapters, and includes fairly large and well spaced font as well as black and white illustrations on most pages. The book also includes random non-fiction pages about weather that will pique the interest of the reader. I think this would be a great book for readers who are starting to move into chapter books but are not quite able to comprehend longer texts without the help of illustrations., I would recommend it for readers in the age 6-9 range. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

This first-in-a-series chapter book is sure to be a staple on kids' shelves in coming years. Laugh-out-loud funny AND educational, Zeke will make every burgeoning meteorologist smile.

STEM novels are on the rise, and this early chapter books fits that trend. Packed full of information about weather, particularly snow and blizzards, this story introduces young readers to basic meteorology and fun science experiments. While I understand that not all the characters need to be friends, and that everyone has to interact with someone they dislike, I hope that Luna and Zeke can become friends, if there are any future books. I found it unnecessary for Zeke to call her annoying and ignore her. Zeke's new pet is fun, and I think reader's will enjoy her learning about her.

As a person who loves winter and snow, this book appealed to me. I loved that it took place in winter and that it also gives information about the weather and for example how snowflakes are being born and how they grow. That is very interesting to add in this book / story about the weather and I think it's a nice way for children to learn about the weather while reading a fictional story.

I didn't really like how in the beginning Zeke acted (in my eyes) a little spoiled with how he reacted about not getting his puppy for his birthday but in the end I liked how it ended with his new friendship with his lizzard.

The pictures are all in black and white but they are very nicely drawn. I like that the same drawings of characters appear on the pages with information and also in the storyline.

I recommend this book for every child who is interested in the weather and/or who loves winter/snow!

Zele the Weather Geeke was really cute. Also highly educational. The storyline was easy to follow and kept the attention of not only me, but my 12 year old son.it has some great lessons on thankfulness, education, and family. I liked the illustrations and the educational outlines as well. I would recommend this to teachers as a tool for science and reading in one go. Plus the outlines are already provided all you would have to do is make questions based off of the informative pages. I am 33 years old and learned there are different shapes of snowflakes. Not just the pretty crystals you think.

Fourth-grader Zeke "the Weather Geek" Abramovich is on a mission to become a Weather Warrior like his idol, local meteorologist Freeze Jones. Step one: win his classroom's Winter Photo Contest. In this elementary-level chapter book, we follow Zeke - sometimes accompanied by his younger brother Bub and his best friend Kiho - as he tracks the weather and tries to capture the perfect photo.

This would be a great book for a weather or science-loving elementary schooler (or for a teacher's classroom library). While I'm not sure the book needed quite so many weather references to stay clearly in the lane of being a weather-focused book, I think it's a fun way to introduce meteorology to young readers, especially in the winter. Every few chapters, there's a short section on the actual science behind what's happening in the story, which teachers will love. (A note on the pet storyline: I'm not sure if buying dogs from pet stores or keeping bearded lizards as pets is recommended these days? Maybe it can be a jumping-off point for a discussion with kids.)

Rating: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
