What She Left is a suspenseful crime fiction/thriller. I enjoyed the multi POV and how you even get the viewpoint of the criminal but not specifics that will ruin the twist. I loved Martina and how she was such a strong, fearless and hardworking character. I enjoyed trying to solve the case and then seeing if I was correct in my assumptions.
While I felt that this book started strong and then lagged toward the end, I was pleased to see that this is Book 1 in a series and I do look forward to reading the other books.

Was interesting read. Very predictable in parts. Though I did like the authors writing style. Lots of twists and turns to keep you interested

This was an exciting thriller full of mystery and suspense with a twist at the end. Told in multiple POV’s, the reader gets a really good grasp of the different aspects of the story. Martina Monroe is an interesting yet flawed character. Her daughter, Zoey, seemed a little too mature for her age. The story kept me turning pages to the thrilling end. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to more of Martina Monroe’s investigations.

I really enjoyed this book. Thank you Netgalley for the early copy. The storyline was well done and I loved the way all the cases tied together. The story started a little slow but I'm glad I stuck it out and finished.

I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I felt like the beginning started off slow, and I almost debated not finishing it. It picked up towards the middle, and I’m glad I got to find out what happened in the case, and how both the cases she was working were connected. I thought the story was enjoyable, and I liked Martina’s character.

Very interesting read with a lot of connections throughout that story. I enjoyed how many pieces related to one another. It felt a little stiff with character development, a little too matter of fact. Overall a good read.

Martina Monroe has hit the bottom. She lost her best friend as a teenager. Police put it down as a runaway. She knows that is not the case. Her husband died two years prior leaving her to raise their young daughter. Her pain and despair lead her to drinking excessively which all unravels when she is in an accident.
Detective Hirsch has left the police department and joined the sheriff’s department where his main job is cold cases. The first case he starts is Martina’s friend Donna. Before he gets started a murder has happened next door. He is soon introduced to the PI who he immediately recognizes from a previous case that did not end well. It is going to be a struggle to work together but as the cases begin to unravel, they see no other way.
What She Left had me hooked in the first chapter. The story line switching back and forth between Martina and Hirsch works well together. The twist and hidden clues kept me interested through the entire book. There was no room to get bored. I’m ready for H.K. Christie’s next Martina Monroe book.
Thank you NetGalley and Keekstar Media for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Great way to start off a new series. This was interesting and suspenseful with a shocking twist at the end. The characters were interesting without being over the top. I very much enjoyed the plot; it was very movie like. While this is the first book, at times it felt like I was missing information from a previous book. I don't know if there is another series this is a spinoff of. I don't think if took away from the story, because some information was given. I look forward to the next one.

Aside from some grammar error, I loved it. A good ol' fashion whodunnit is always a favorite. I love trying to peice together little things to find the answer, and this did just that for me.

Martina is a recent widow and mother whose struggle with an alcohol addiction. If you haven’t read her other books please note that Martina character is built on a character in another series.

This book had secrets, mystery, suspense and a little danger not much.
There were a couple of edits that could have been caught and fixed but nothing that would stop me from enjoying this book. I was sucked in from page one and read this book in 1 1/2 days.
The two main characters story blended perfectly and flowed very well making it one of those books I couldn’t put down.

I see a lot of people complaining about zoey saying she was either annoying or she was too mature for her age. I didn’t get that at all. I guess because she reminded me of my son when he was 7 he was mature for his age and asked many questions a 7 year old would not be expected to answer. I found her character refreshing and charming.

I will admit I put two and two together pretty fast so it wasn’t a surprise when I reached the end of the book because I had figured it out almost towards the end. ( I won’t add the spoiler) but overall it was a pretty good read. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.
