I really enjoy Christina Lauren books. I really enjoyed this connection with one of the writing duo's previous characters. In a world of online dating, dating reality shows, etc., I like the direction this book took with decing what is real, what is fake, what's happening in front of your eyes, and what's happening 'behind the scenes' of your life. The dating show premise was so fun to me. I enjoyed this one a lot.
As always I had so much fun reading this Christina Lauren book. I laughed, I swooned, and I love a game show book, so this was a hoot.
Sweet, cinnamon roll heroes are some of my faves, and Connor falls into that list! I enjoyed so much the direction of the story, and that Fizzy got to shine! The unique angle on reality tv in book form was so interesting and definitely kept me wanting to read more.
One of my favorite tropes is when one character is all about staying serious (Connor) and the other character only wanting a "benefits" situation (Fizzy), and it worked so well for them! The banter made everything so much better and highlighted their chemistry.
Christina Lauren does it again! These ladies do not miss.
I really enjoyed this unique take on a dating show rom-com. Fizzy is such a fun character, and I wanted her to find her happy ever after so bad. Connor was the cutest single dad. I just loved them together! The banter was so fun and I loved the inclusion of Fizzy's found family and Connor's family to really round out the book.
I loved and will be recommending The True Love Experiment to everyone forever! I’ve only read a few of Christina Lauren’s books, but even I know they are queens of the romcom. And The True Love Experiment is just everything good they write all crammed into one amazing book. I’ve pushed this one on friends and family for the past year and I know I’ll continue to do so for a long time.
It’s sweet, it’s steamy, it’s thoughtful, it made me laugh, and it made me cry. The characters are funny and real and so deftly written that I feel like they could walk off the page. This is the sequel to The Soulmate Equation, and after reading both, I was (still am!) completely attached to Fizzy.
I rarely remember the characters in the books I read, but there was something about Fizzy that just stuck with me. Her unique mix of pessimist and optimist, her take on love and romance, and her confidence in all things except her heart, had me falling hard. And Fizzy and Conner together? OMG, the longing and the flirting and the overall complete and total sexiness of those two?! Yesssss!
If you’re a romance reader and you haven’t picked this one up yet, plllllease do so!! And if you’ve read it and didn’t like it, don’t tell me. I refuse to hear any negativity about this book. Also read The Soulmate Equation too, although this can be read as a standalone - you’ll just have the usual spoilers about the couple from the first book that also shows up in the second.
True Love Experiment was such a fun read! The romance between Connor and Fizzy was everything I hoped for. I loved reading about their adventures together and how they gradually got to know each other. It was also great to see Connor’s relationship with his daughter and his ex—we love a healthy and respectful co-parenting partnership. The dating show competition was a super fun addition.
I love Christina Lauren’s use of dual-POV. I tandem read with the audiobook and the narrators were fantastic and really enhanced my experience and enjoyment.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing an advance digital copy! All thoughts expressed are my honest opinion.
A romance writer and a documentary filmmaker join forces to craft the ultimate Hollywood love story, but only if they can keep the chemistry between them from taking the whole thing off script. This was a fun book - a mix of light hearted and also a few deep moments. I loved the main characters and the different perspectives. This is a perfect book for the beach or if you want a light, spicy, cute book. Highly recommend.
Just My Feelings* Rating: 5/5 I LOVED THIS BOOK!

I love this book so much. I think it's my one of my top two Christina Lauren books (I'm looking at you Hazel and Josh!). Fizzy is an elite character that I want to be BFFs in real life. And OMG the single dad trope is easily one of my favorites!

Another amazing book from one of my favorite writing duos! This book was SO GOOD and honestly might be one of my new favorites of theirs. The writing was amazing, the plot was fun and overall it's a sweet book.

Witty banter
Did not get a chance to read this title hopefully in the future. I have read previous books by these authors that i have enjoyed.
I don’t know how Christina Lauren came close to the first book in this series, but they did! The chemistry! The longing! The banter! Definitely a reread for me.
I loved this book! Christina Lauren is one of my favorite romantic comedy authors. I enjoyed the well-written characters, realistic dialogue, and connections to the first book in the series.
I love Christina Lauren's books and just finished the Unhoneymooners - So cute! This one was just not my favorite. I liked the premise of the reality show but I felt like the ending was very predictable. I also did not love the female lead (Felicity). She was just not all that likable. Super sassy and overly flirty in my opinion. I did like the UCSD references and the continuity of characters from previous books.
Many thanks to #netgalley for the ARC.
Fizzy, popular romance writer, hasn't ever actually been in love. She's great at writing stories, but hasn't experienced it for herself. Connor Prince, a successful documentary filmmaker, has been tasked with filming a Bachelorette-style reality TV show. He convinces Fizzy to join the show as the star seeking love (as long as he can find love interests that fit all of her requirements).
The way these two interact throughout the show's filming is steamy and entertaining. I loved Fizzy's chemistry with Connor and also the other dating contestants. Reading both Fizzy and Connor's points of view was enjoyable, especially in audiobook format with multiple voice actors.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC.
C.L. you have done it again! Another top of the line rom com! Was this my favorite C.L. book? No. But it was very enjoyable and entertaining through it all. Fizzy is so blunt and funny. But my favorite part is the banter back and fourth!
One of my most anticipated books of 2023 and Christina Lauren did not disappoint! I absolutely loved Fizzy in The Soulmate Experiment and even more in this book. The slow burn was slowly burning! I enjoyed Connor and Fizzy's growing connection throughout the novel and can only say.... run out an grab your copy because this book became an instant fave on my list.
𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲: Special thanks to Christina Lauren for providing me an ARC copy to share my honest review.
This book was an outstanding romance read! The characters were so cute, and I was thoroughly captivated by their story. A must-read for anyone who loves romance!

Felicity “Fizzy” Chen has an incredible career as a beloved romance novelist. But when she realizes she’s never actually been in love, she gets hit with a horrible case of writer’s block. Connor Prince loves his work as a documentary filmmaker, but when he’s tasked with creating a reality TV show, he is out of his element. A chance run-in lands Fizzy as Connor’s romantic lead, promising to show the queen of romance herself falling head-over-heels. But it turns out that Fizzy and Connor’s happily ever after might lie just behind the camera. If you liked that Colin loved Penelope for exactly who she was, then you’ll love Fizzy and Connor’s relationship.
I wasn’t sure if I would love this as much as I loved The Soulmate Equation, but I may have loved it EVEN MORE. Christina Lauren has such a special way of bringing their characters to life - they always feel so HUMAN. The humor was top notch as usual, the tension was incredible, and god I just LOVED Fizzy & Connor.
My favorite Christina Lauren to date! I love that they took the background of the Soulmate Equation and figured out how to make a spin off book. This was so enjoyable to read!
