So in love with the concept of this book, I absolutely loved the reality tv plotline that spiced up a classic office romance trope. I really loved all of the characters in this book it was such a fun and steamy read.

I loved Connor he was such a great male romance lead and had the perfect mix of good traits and flaws. I loved reading this romance it was so fun and just another reason I will always buy and read Christina Lauren's books!

Okay so The Soulmate Equation is one of my absolute favorite CLo books (even if all the science talk went completely over my head). And since then, I have been DYING waiting for Fizzy’s book.

When I tell you it was worth the wait!!!!

The banter was witty and perfection, which is no surprise since banter is what CLo excels at. I love Fizzy as our heroine, and Connor is just a gushy cinnamon roll I want to eat right up. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, and the spin on a reality dating show was *chef’s kiss*

I can’t wait to hold a physical copy of this one and read it over and over!

Felicity "Fizzy" Chen's life is falling apart. While giving a college commencement speech, Fizzy realizes that she may write perfect love matches for a living as a romance writer, but she has never been in love her self. Oh, she has a very busy social life, just feelings are never involved.

Connor Frederick Prince III's life is content making environmental documentaries because then he can still live close to his ten year old daughter Stevie, whom he shares with his ex-wife Jessica. When Connor's boss, Blaine wants him to do a dating reality TV show instead of a documentary, he is not happy. After Conner's chance meeting of Fizzy he decides he wants her to star as his reality heroine and comes up with the idea of finding true love for the romance author. Fizzy only agrees after Connor accepts her fun list of demands.

What starts out as something really outrageous, turns into something really exciting. The only problem is that the more time Fizzy and Connor spend together, the more their sparks start to fly. All the while Connor has to watch from the sidelines as the woman he has grown feelings for has to date other men. As Fizzy is trying to find her true love, outside forces may be having a problem with that. After all the dust settles, Fizzy will actually end up finding true love in the one place she never expected.

I just adored this sweet, funny story. Fizzy was such a great character and so full of life. I loved her attitude about everything. Connor was so sweet and straight laced it was enjoyable with the two of them together. You just couldn't help but root for these two. Overall I LOVED this book! I hope they get some little novella in the future because they were so fun.

The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren
Rating: 5 stars
Steam: 1 chili
Pub Date: 5/16

Now this is what I’m talking about when I say rom-coms are my jam! Christina Lauren can do no wrong, and The True Love Experiment hooked me from the very first page.

The story follows Fizzy, a famous romance author who is struggling with writer's block and has never experienced true love herself. When she is invited to be on a brand new dating show, she never expects to fall head over heels for Connor, a smokeshow single dad and the creator of the show.

The chemistry between these two is simply electric! Fizzy is hilarious, and their witty banter had me giggling out loud. I found myself rooting for them to get together from the very beginning. The writing duo that is Christina Lauren has done an incredible job of building up the tension between them, and when they finally do get together, it's a moment of pure joy that had me grinning from ear to ear.

What I loved most about this book was its perfectly balanced romance, humor, and heart. The characters were all so relatable and likable, and the writing was so engaging that I found myself completely invested in their journey. I also appreciated how the author tackled deeper themes, such as the fear of vulnerability and the importance of taking risks in life.

Overall, I absolutely adored this and gave it an enthusiastic five stars! I laughed, I cried, and I definitely swooned! It left me feeling warm and fuzzy inside, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a fun and contemporary romance with great characters, incredible banter, and a whole lot of heart. Connor is serious book-boyfriend material, and I can’t wait to reread this when my physical copy arrives!

There are a few spoilers for The Soulmate Equation, so just be prepared for that if, like me, you haven’t read it yet. Thank you so much to Gallery Books and NetGalley for my advanced copy to read and review.

Oh man, what a sweet book. I loved it and it's always hard for me to love a sequel more but I sure did with this one! Fizzy is truly an amazing MC and I was glad to see her back after reading The Soulmate Equation - you'll definitely want to read that one first so you have the backstory of the characters. I loved the reality show aspect and really enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes play out. Connor was a perfect match for Fizzy and I couldn't get enough of their banter. This is definitely up there for favorite rom coms for me!

Romance novelist Felicity Chen (Fizzy) is in a rut, both romantically and professionally. How can she continue to write happily ever afters when she is starting to wonder if they even exist? Eco-documentary filmmaker Connor Prince III has just been told that in order to increase ratings, he will be producing a reality TV dating show to appeal to the female demographic. He is unenthusiastic about this prospect until he happens to see Fizzy across the room in a crowded bar and later sees her photo in the back of one of his ex-wife’s romance novels. A crazy idea forms, he agrees to Fizzy’s hilarious and outlandish demands, and a reality TV partnership is formed.

The True Love Experiment picks up where The Soulmate Equation left off, so even though this book could be read as a standalone, it will make more sense if readers have read The Soulmate Equation first. As the snappy sidekick in The Soulmate Equation, Fizzy wasn’t all that memorable for me, but as the heroine in The True Love experiment, I found her to be endearing in addition to being witty and quick. My favorite thing about Fizzy was her relationship with the girls (Jess’ daughter, Juno, and Connor’s daughter, Stevie). My only complaint is that Fizzy’s reaction to Connor’s confession toward the end of the book was way too over the top, but the resolution made up for my disgruntlement. Recommended for adults. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, Gallery Books, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Happy Pub Day to The True Love Experiment! I’m just going to go ahead and tell you now this is one of my top ten books of the year!

This book is the sequel to The Soulmate Equation. It follows romance writer Felicity “Fizzy” Chen on her quest to find love reality TV style. Little does she know hot DILF and show producer Connor just may be the cinnamon roll she’s looking for.

I don’t know how they do it but @christinalauren just have the ability to make you scream with laughter and shed tears all within a few pages. I cannot explain in words how much I LOVED this book. All of Fizzy’s one liners are perfection. She just may be one of my favorite characters of all time. The banter and chemistry between these two was off the charts. Please go get a copy today and DM your thoughts.

Thanks to @gallerybooks and @netgalley for the E-ARC!

If you were single would you consider being on a reality TV dating show?

After reading THE SOULMATE EQUATION, Fizzy easily became one of my favorite book characters. I was thrilled when I found out she was getting her own book!!

There was SO much I loved about THE TRUE LOVE EXPERIMENT—
💥 dual POV
💥 Fizzy is in her late 30s, a romance author(!), and is hilarious. I love that she says exactly what’s on her mind 😂
💥 Connor is a great dad and co-parent with his ex-wife
💥 I love reality dating shows so that element was super fun
💥 there is so much love & appreciation for the romance genre sprinkled throughout the book 🥺
💥 we get a lot more of Jess and River from TSE!

Christina Lauren fans are in for a treat with their newest book 💗 I had such a blast reading it!

Oh My Goodness…True Love Experiment was just the comfort food I needed right now! I feel like I have been struggling through quite a few mediocre books lately and TLE was like biting into a warm gooey chocolate chip cookie; warm, delicious, and hit the spot perfectly!

I really enjoyed The Soulmate Equation so I liked how TLE had little nods to it throughout. You probably could read this one as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading Soulmate Equation first, it will make it just that much more enjoyable.

I honestly don’t even know where to start because I loved everything about this book! Fizzy is fun and relatable. Connor is absolutely swoon worthy. (Side note…is there an audio for this yet? Does Connor have an English accent? Because that would make him even more 😍) I love the storyline and the reality show they’re trying to make. I just enjoyed everything about this book!

It was sweet, it was funny, it was romantic and just a tiny bit spicy the way I like them. Of course @christinalauren hit it out of the park again!

This has to be the most fun I've had reading any book this year. The witty dialog, hot sexual tension, escapades and romance - I loved it all. This somehow is the first book I've read by Christina and Lauren but no doubt they've made a move up my TBR pile. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a little escape.

The True Love Experiment met my hopeful expectations! Yay- Christina Lauren did it!! This one is a sequel....of sorts. Do you HAVE to read the first one? Nope but it would help. I really liked the play on romantic heroes in the story. I loved the banter between the two main characters. It was fun, funny and romantic. Exactly what someone would want in a summer beach read. Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

The duo that is Christina Lauren write some of my fav romance books and I really enjoyed The True Love Experiment! The reality TV setting is really fun and I like Fizzy and Connor. It's a delightful and bubbly rom-com!

This is the love story of the year! Fizzy is an effervescent joy! Her unabashed truth-telling and lust-having makes her the juiciest lens with which to view falling in love. So often, I find the female leads to be so reserved and passive and that doesn’t inspire me the way fearless Fizzy does. The main male character Connor is an earnest, wonderful man that a I couldn’t help but also fall for through the eyes of Fizzy.
Christina Lauren are absolute legends when is comes to dynamic connections and emotional expressions. I legitimately highlighted more of this book than I ever have any other book, simply because the prose was so beautiful. Even the spicy parts were gorgeously poetic!
And spicy it was! This is one of the hotter books I’ve read in a while! The tension was palpable off the page and made it hard to walk away from. I have a feeling this book is going to be the next booktok favorite!
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced read. What a delight!

I love Christina Lauren and so naturally clicked request immediately! This book is about Fizzy l, who was a side character in Soulmate Equation. In this book she’s on a bachelorette type show but falls in love with someone who isn’t a contestant.

She is soo relatable; I absolutely love her! She is funny and fun, smart, a romance book lover (bc she writes them), and overall just lovable with a huge personality all her own. Her love interest his Connor, a hot, tall, single dad with a British accent. Like yes please all the best of book boyfriends in one. They’re the best complimentary couple to date! Stevie, Connor’s daughter, and Juno, Jessica’s daughter, are the best of friends adding such fun side comments and root for Fizzy and Connor the whole time.

The best part of this was Fizzy giving Connor a list of heroes form romance books he has to use to fill her contestant list hahaha. I would totally watch this version of the show because it’s not scripted, the contestants don’t have group dates, the viewers get to vote on who goes home and the guys are initially matched by DNADuo so you know they theoretically should be good matches. Just sounds amazing.

The one thing we absolutely needed more of was Fizzy’s writing. I wish we could have gotten her actually writing and what she wrote or more pieces of past books. Her writing slump is a huge part of her storyline and it’s the only area I would have liked more of.

I loved this book and can’t wait for their next one. It was fun, sexy and overall a great read. I read it all in one day!

I absolutely loved this book & could not put it down. I loved Fizzy & Connor and their chemistry. I loved their tell-it-like-it-is banter and kept smiling as I was reading. Absolutely fell in love with each of the characters and just couldn’t get enough, I didn’t want it to end! Thank you to Gallery Books & Net Galley for the eARC of this fantastic love story!

Thank you so much @GalleryBooks for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 16 May 2023)

SYNOPSIS | Fizzy is a famous romance writer suffering from writers block because she can't seem to find love herself. Connor produces documentaries but in an effort to increase views the network is tasking him with creating a reality dating show instead. With his job security on the line he decides to reach out & cast Fizzy as the lead.

WHAT I LIKED:
- a shoutout to romance lovers as there are a lot of romance specific references (like tropes etc)
- the banter between Fizzy & Connor was delightful
- a positive co-parenting dynamic (yay for modern blended families!)

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- we have another big strong man & tiny teacup lady *rolls eyes*
- NOT a fan of the infidelity (or the third act break up)
- there wasn't enough angst or build up to them being together. The stakes just felt really low.
- the whole reality dating show premise (I'd rather have more on page time between Fizzy & Connor)

Christina Lauren does it again! This book is DELIGHTFUL! I loved The Soulmate Equation and this was it's very witty little sister! Fizzy is such a delightful character and I LOVED getting to know her through this book! I was laughing and chuckling the whole book. I adored the way that Connor and Fizzy fell for one another- PERFECTION. And on top of that, the flirting and banter was TOP TIER! I am not sure what someone could not like about this one- it was witty, smart, a good story, has a Harry Styles reference and more. This might just be my new favorite!

So I’m the dummy who didn’t realize that The Soulmate Equation came first (guess I’ll read that next??) but even still — this is probably my favorite read of 2023.

Fizzy is our spunky, feisty, outspoken FMC & Connor Prince III is our DILF, sexy lumberjack (IYKYK) MMC. Fizzy is a romance author who realizes she doesn’t actually know anything about falling in love, and she loses herself when she gets stumped on writing her next book. Connor (a tv producer) asks Fizzy to be the star of his new reality TV show where she can find true love, and everything goes haywire from there 😂

This is one of those books that sucked me in immediately & I don’t know that I’ll ever be the same. I laughed out loud, I cried, basically every emotion was there. And the ending 🥹 I could tell where it was going, but it was so much better than I expected!

If you love a book with a sexually-confident FMC, hilarious banter, love a good DILF, and also love reality tv, you’ll absolutely adore this book.

Christina Lauren knocks it out of the park with The True Love Experiment! This is my favorite book by this author duo, and that's really saying something because I love their books!

Felicity "Fizzy" Chen is a best-selling romance writer who is currently in a writing slump and realizing she has not been living her best life. Nor has she ever really been in love. Enter Connor, a handsome single dad and documentary filmmaker whose employer has tasked him with producing a reality dating show. He meets Fizzy and realizes she would be fantastic as the lead. But what happens when sparks fly off-camera between the lead and her producer?

Fizzy was a fun and memorable character in The Soulmate Equation, and I was thrilled to see her fully realized in her own story. She's straight-talking, confident, vibrant, funny, and intelligent. Fizzy knows and stays true to herself, which was appealing to read. Connor is supportive and sexy and cannot help falling for Fizzy. The two are like magnets. Together, their chemistry is palpable, their flirting swoony, and their banter witty. The push-pull of these two and their situation of being in breach of contract and facing serious consequences if anyone finds out about them, and the dilemma of Fizzy having to date other men for the show, made this book hard to put down! Strong friendships/found family, tons of pop culture references, behind-the-scenes looks at writers and tv productions, and some spice round out this well-written and entertaining read. Sweetly, the authors say this book is a love letter to romance readers, and it felt that way. Also, the publication is perfectly timed to make this the perfect summer beach read. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem to rom-com lovers!

Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery Books for the opportunity to review this ARC. I loved it!

IMO this book (and series) is CLo is at their absolute finest!

Reality TV show themes are not always my fave, but THIS ONE was definitely the exception to that! I loved how they incorporated all of the different romance hero archetypes into the dating show-it was so much fun to read!! I loved catching up with all the Soulmate Equation friends and Fizzy lives up to every bit of the hype in her starring role!

ALSO. Idk what it is about HOT DAD books lately but geez! I’m obsessed. And this one is BRITISH *swoon* I won’t really call this a single dad book because the mom is very involved and it’s an excellent relationship - extremely refreshing!!

What to expect::
•Incredible banter! LOL funny moment.
•Reality dating show theme
•Enemies to lovers
•Opposites attract
•Romance writer heroine
•Divorced Dad, TV producer hero
•A but of a love letter to the romance genre
🔥Open door, mild details (steamier than most CLo)
