Fizzy is a romance author experiencing writers block, and is looking for a new adventure to get her writing again. Connor is a filmmaker being forced to film a new reality dating tv show, the True Love Experiment, starring none other than Fizzy. As Fizzy and Connor work together on the show they start to develop feelings for each other. The only thing stopping them from being together is the dating show, and Connor’s job on the line the stakes are high, so they must keep their feelings for each other a secret. Will the True Love Experiment help Fizzy find her soulmate?
I really enjoyed this book and how Fizzy and Connor’s relationship developed. Christina and Lauren are great authors and I have enjoyed many of their books! Highly recommended this book!

Fizzy was the best part of the The Soulmate Equation. She is such a different MC for the amazing duo Christina and Lauren and I loved her! Connor the male MC was such a refreshing character as a male lead. He is a single dad and there is a lot described about his and his daughter's relationship. He also has a healthy relationship with his daughter's mother and it was nice to watch a family making things work and still doing all the things families do. All while being a romance novel!
The two MC have such great witty banter (no surprise there thanks to Christina and Lauren) that I was rooting for them from the start! Their chemistry is off the charts which is no surprise that by the end they give in to their ill fated attempts of staying apart.
For a lover of these two authors this book hits the mark once again. GO!

I love Fizzy and Conner! I could not put this book down, it was so good. This would be a reality show I would actually watch. I need to read the other book Fizzy was in now.

Loved, loved loved. Christina Lauren is a can't miss author for me, and this one hit the mark just like all of her others. I loved the reality romance tv show aspect, it was so much fun. And Connor and Fizzy were perfection!

Another hit from the bestselling Duo! This couple had me grinning from ear to ear the whole time! I've never read a book with the dating show trope so this was a great introduction for that! This book was happy, fun, vibrant! Everyone needs to read this book. ESPECIALLY if one is looking for a feel-good book that is hotter than you would expect & you won't be able to put down!!

Christina Lauren always manages to create and angsty perfect romance. It never fails to combine stress, tears, but also feet kicking and giggling for a story about fictional charcaters. If your looking for the perfect summer read the true love expiremnt is exactly what we need!
Thank you NetGalley

I absolutely loved this book! I love the characters and I love that it’s a sequel from the book that came out last year. In my eyes Christina Lauren does no wrong and their books are top notch reads I look forward to.

Thank you to Netgalley, Gallery Books, and Christina Lauren for a copy of The True Love Experiment in exchange for an honest review. Alright- this book was so stinking cute and would be perfect for any reality dating show lover. Watching Fizzy and Connor grow as individuals and as friends throughout this story was so fun and I loved cheering them on. As always, Christina Lauren throws us another great love story. This one is out now! 4.5 stars!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Christina Lauren never disappoints me. I loved the plot, characters, and romance.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED this new Christina Lauren—easily one of my new favorites, returning to a beloved side character but building out a new fun, larger than life plot and the BEST love interest (as always!!). A new fave!

I liked this book, but I didn't love it. The premise is interesting enough. Fizzy, a romance author, finds herself cast as "the bachelorette" on a reality dating show. The audience gets to vote (a la American Idol) and see who she should be with, rather than her picking for herself. I like this idea (Bachelor, take note). Then, as a follow-up to The Soulmate Equation, if Fizzy and her end man end up being a Gold Match, they get money. Or something? I don't remember as it wasn't very important other than trying to tie to the previous book.
Anyway, all is good except that Fizzy falls for the producer of the show. Before the show even starts, they have "fun days" which are glorified dates. Somehow they don't realize this or think it's a bad idea. Also, somehow, they don't share personal information... because when Connor (the producer) reveals why his marriage broke up later in the book, Fizzy freaks out. Connor then acts like a complete jerk... and yet, she makes it seem like it was her fault for freaking out. This is where I had an issue with this book. Fizzy is portrayed as a strong, independent female. She's sex positive (which is awesome, but it would have been great for her to have other qualities besides wanting to jump Connor every time she saw him... didn't quite come across the way I think it was intended). Anyway, this strong female acts appropriately, and then Connor makes it out to be her fault. No. No, no no. That is NOT how this should go.
But if you can get past that, the rest is good.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the advanced reader copy. It took me awhile to get to this one when I realized the soulmate equation was book where we first meet “fizzy” felicity Chen. I read that one first and I’m glad I got the backstory about dNaduo. These books fell a little flat for me. I can’t pinpoint why but it took me so long to read them. I guess I just needed more from it.

Love love loved this one!
Read this if you like:
-single dad
-bachelorette vibes
-intense chemistry
-flirty banter
-found family
-friends to lovers
-dual POV

Christina Lauren at their finest! Fizzy is the perfect heroine, and I couldn't have loved this romance more. My only complain is that The True Love Experiment isn't a real TV show.

Romance writer Fizzy hasn’t found her own happily ever after, so when she has an opportunity to be the leading lady in a reality show based on romance tropes, she agrees. She never imagined that her perfect match might be the producer, Connor.
So, first things first, how do we get this show made? I’d watch every episode. I listened to the audiobook, and it was great!

Sparks fly when a romance novelist and a documentary filmmaker join forces to craft the perfect Hollywood love story and take both of their careers to the next level—but only if they can keep the chemistry between them from taking the whole thing off script.
My first Christina Lauren novel (sorry friends, I know you've been begging me to read her books forever) and I'm hooked. This book is funny and fiesty (yes, I laughed OUT LOUD).
WARNING: I do think there are spoilers in this book for her other books because they are connected in a way that isn't casual. Unfortunately, I may have spoiled some things for myself, but that's alright.
I already want to re-read this book and shove it in the faces of my entire book club. The romance gave me all the absolute feels without any of the ick or cheesiness some romance tropes offer today. The reality tv spin made the book very interesting to read and I love everything about this book. Thank you!

I loved the Soulmate Equation, and so I was very excited to receive an ARC for her next novel, The True Love Experiment. What I like about Christina Lauren's books is that she is able to make her romance genre novels unique and not sound like every other romance novel I've ever read. The premise of her books are fun and I really liked the main characters & their chemistry. I think the premise of the reality dating show pictured in the novel is kind of ridiculous - the audience picking who they want her to be with. I would have liked to have the DNA algorithm featured more, especially since the character's best friend and husband from The Soulmate Equation are featured in this one. Overall, this is an entertaining and fast/easy read. Thank you to the publisher for this ARC!

This follow-up to The Soulmate Equation was everything I wanted and more. Jess and River were cute, but Fizzy and Connor absolutely take the cake. She’s a romance novelist and he’s a hot DILF… oh, and a filmmaker, too. When given a project to create a dating show surrounding the accuracy of DNADuo, he seeks out Fizzy to make her the show’s star.
We didn’t get the male perspective in The Soulmate Equation, and I thought this was a great addition to Fizzy and Connor’s story. Their relationship began entirely as lust, but it quickly morphed into more. While the reader knows the two will end up together, the television show adds an element of, “Oh no! What’s going to happen?” What if Fizzy actually begins to develop feelings for one of the contestants?
There is a passage where Fizzy talks about how much she loves her readers. She shares that she wants to make each one feel important when he or she shows up at her signing table. I love when authors put a piece of themselves in their books—I absolutely felt this love when I met Christina and Lauren in person. My sixth CLo and not my last. 🥰

Christina Lauren did it again! This book is fantastic. She never fails to connect the reader with the characters. I would definitely recommend this book if you love romance! I can't wait to see what she does next!

DNF. I tried reading this one multiple times, even when the trope generally isn’t something I gravitate toward, and unfortunately it didn’t hold my attention. So it’d be unfair to force myself to keep reading and judge a book based on something I don’t like. The concept of a dating show just isn’t for me, but maybe one day I’ll give it a shot again, especially because I love the authors.
