I’ve been using this book for a while. I wanted to try the DASH diet as I struggle with high blood pressure. It’s not a diet but a healthy eating plan. The book has good comprehensive information and most of the recipes are easy to prepare and are tasty. I did make a couple of things that were not to my taste but the majority of the recipes were excellent. A great book to keep handy in the kitchen. Highly recommend.

I didn’t even get to the recipes before I ran to order this book! This isn’t a diet as much as a lifestyle change. I love how each recipe has ways to store and reheat each recipe. I’m looking forward to really trying most of these recipes.

This book was around 3.5 stars for me.

This is a helpful guide for those wanting to start the DASH diet. This book includes recipes, tips, and ways to stick to the diet through meal prep and scheduling. There's a nice variety of recipes and most seem fairly approachable.

My husband's doctor recommended the DASH diet for his high blood pressure. It has been an on and off again effort because I could find no good recipes specific to this diet. I have been so impressed with the recipes and the delicious results, not to mention the recipes use everyday pantry items so it's easy to just open the book and start. This cookbook should be owned by everyone with high blood pressure. It could actually make a difference to their health.

I loved this recipe book. I tried making 2 recipes from each section.
Some were delicious and a few were flops.
Since I have a kindle version, I printed out some others that I want to try in the future.
This book has a great selection of recipes and explains the DASH diet in depth.

Des recettes intéressantes mais un format trop dense qui rend la lecture (sur tablette et smartphone) assez compliqué.

The Everything DASH Diet Meal Prep Cookbook by Karman Meyer RD
200 Easy Make-Ahead Recipes

Written by a registered dietician, this book introduces the DASH Diet to those that may not have heard of it before. The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension information has been around for several years and is not new to me and thought that perhaps this book would have ideas I could incorporate into my menus. Living overseas in a small village in Lebanon, I should probably have known better because many ingredients are not available or prohibitively expensive making the recipes in this book sometimes difficult. Also, having gone predominately vegetarian/vegan, I did not find many recipes that would help me eating as I am now.

The book provides visual access by color to information that may be of interest to the reader –
- GREEN – answer to common question
- BLUE - fact
- YELLOW – essential information
- RED – an alert

Chapters include the explanation of DASH, meal prepping basics then recipes for meal prep staples, breakfast, salads and sides, beef and pork, chicken and turkey, seafood, vegan-vegetarian, freezer meals, snacks, desserts, beverages and smoothies followed by a two week suggested menu.

The information is easy to understand, the recipes varied, nutritional information for each recipe is included, and I believe this book will be helpful to those interested in reducing hypertension through diet.

Thank you to NetGalley and Adams Media for the ARC – this is my honest review.

You will find steps to a successful meal prep, best practices for storing ingredients, grocery shopping tips and discover new foods for every meal. 200 Dash (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet recipes give you portion-controlled meals to satisfy your cravings and improve your health, lower blood pressure, prevent diabetes and to lose weight. It's a help with your journey towards better health. There is a chapter on freezer meals and how to create meals like power bowls. It's a great amount of variety for every night. I used this cookbook to make Swiss Cheese and Chive Mini Quiches and they turned out great. I look forward to making more dinners with this cookbook. I found the recipes so easy to use and there are beautiful pictures of different meals. I would like to thank Adams Media and NetGalley for a copy for an honest review.

I thought this a good place to start for those looking to get onto the DASH diet bandwagon. There is a lot of good information in the beginning about what the DASH diet is (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension), and how to do this through diet. Yes, like all DASH diet books, the biggie is to cut salt and increase healthy eating of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc. In this one, the author recommends doing meal prepping ahead so when you’re hungry or too tired to cook, you can grab something from the fridge or freezer, like soups, stews, and ingredients for “bowls”.

The author gives tips on portion control, shopping, and storage as well as a suggested two-week meal plan. Each recipe contains servings, notes/tips, nutrients, ingredients and some even have techniques like how to spatchcock a chicken. Most of the ingredients are easily found, but some may not be for smaller grocery stores and could be expensive for some people. But overall, good recipes, more than a few of which I’m going to be trying out.

Recommended.

The Everything DASH Diet Meal Prep Cookbook is easy to read and understand. It provides an explanation of the DASH eating plan and the benefits of following it. There is information on the basics of meal prepping such as grocery shopping tips and meal storage. Each chapter covers a particular type of recipe such as Breakfast (Chapter 4), Freezer Meals (Chapter 10), and even Vegan and Vegetarian Dishes (Chapter 9). Also included with each of the recipes is information regarding servings as well as nutrition information per serving. The photos of the dishes are colorful and inviting. Most of the ingredients are items that can be found in your pantry, fridge or freezer. Included is a suggested two-week meal plan to get you started on your way along with measurement conversions from US to Metric. All in all this is a useful guide for a beginner or someone who has been following the DASH eating plan. I am looking forward to trying many of the recipes contained within this book. THE EVERYTHING DASH DIET MEAL PREP COOKBOOK by Karman Meyer, "200 Easy, Make-Ahead Recipes to Help You Lose Weight and Improve Your Health." The publishers of this soon to be released cookbook note that "Studies show that the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet can help lower blood pressure in just two weeks." That, of course, is exciting and as a result there are numerous cookbooks offering DASH Diet recipes, some of which we have reviewed like DASH for Weight Loss and The DASH Diet Mediterranean Solution. Meyer, a registered dietitian nutritionist with fifteen years of experience in the nutrition and food industry, offers recipes across a variety of categories and includes a two-week meal plan. I am looking forward to trying some like Sweet Potato Breakfast Pie, Beef Tenderloin and Roasted Vegetables, or Pork Chops with Sautéed Apples and Shallots. The cookbook itself would benefit from more color photos, although nutritional information is happily provided.

I appreciate that this one was written by a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian and offered a short, but concise information about DASH diet and when it is usually used/prescribed in the health/nutrition field. All dishes have their macro- and micronutrient components as well. My only gripes with this book is that the dishes/ingredients were not affordable and most of the ingredients used were not easily accessible as well.
