This is a good read but really slow in places. Outside of those it is really good with a villain that is unexpected. Which let's be honest are the best kind of villains. This has great characters and plot with lots of twists. Even with the slow parts it is a great way to spend a rainy day.
Stacy Green https://stacygreenauthor.com/ is the author of more than two dozen novels. Little Lost Souls was published in 2023 and is the second book in her Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller series. This is the 11th book I completed reading in 2023.
Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own! Due to scenes of violence and mature situations, I categorize this novel as R. The primary character is Private Investigator Lucy Kendall. Kendall started her career in Child Protective Services. The system made her burn out quickly. That was when she became a Private Investigator. The rules didn’t constrain her as much.
Over the past 18-months, Kendall had found five different pedophiles. They are all dead now. The system would have let them slip through its fingers. Kendall carried out the justice she knew they deserved. Now she is focusing on a child trafficking ring.
Kendall has gone undercover at a salon she believes is connected to the ring. When Sarah, the salon owner, is found murdered, evidence left at the scene implicates Kendall. This forces her into the precarious position of having to avoid the police while pursuing her investigation.
She does have other leads. There is the fifteen-year-old prostitute Riley. Kendall has approached her, but Riley is scared and not telling all she knows. Senator Mark Coleman is running a trafficking task force. But are his motives as humanitarian as they seem on the surface.
The leaders of the trafficking ring know Kendall is pursuing them. Can she save the children before the police catch up to her, or worse, the trafficking ring does.
I enjoyed the 7.5 hours I spent reading this 335-page mystery. I have had the opportunity to read The Girl in the Pink Shoes, the first novel in this series. It is every bit as good as this one. To enjoy this book, you should read it after Pink Shoes. The plot has many twists and turns, leading to an unexpected outcome. I do think that this novel ended abruptly. I like the chosen cover art. I give this novel a rating of 4.5 (rounded to 5) out of 5.

After enjoying the first book in the Lucy Kendall series, I decided to read and review the others.
This was the second book in the series, and I enjoyed it almost as much as the first.
I like the protagonist, and the way she communicates with the reader. At some point in this book, she describes herself as "brave", which was something that I liked. This book also made references to some of the events in the first book. This was something I enjoyed, but I think it would also be useful to those who haven't read the previous book, if they want to read it as a stand-alone.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a free copy to review.
Little Lost Souls is a wonderful follow-up to the first book in the Lucy Kendall series and I enjoyed it a lot more. The story picks up a few months after the events of "The Girl with the Pink Shoes" and we can see Lucy Kendall doing undercover work at a salon trying to trace leads on people who are behind a network of human trafficking operating in that area.
Her journey takes her through the rough parts of the city, incites the enmity of a number of powerful people and ends up making her the suspect of a murder. What Lucy does to save herself and to find out the people behind the heinous act makes up the story. I must say I liked this book more than the previous one. We have got more context into Lucy and all the damaged people around her and so, in spite of the many immoral and illegal things these people do, I couldn't stop myself rooting for them.
The author takes us into the psyche of Lucy, where she confronts and acknowledges who she is as a person; it has been done wonderfully by the author and made me actually empathize with the character in many places. There is one sneak twist at the ending of the book which hooks the story into the next book and I can't wait to read the next book and see where the story goes.
I am beginning to like the author Stacy Green very much; she has a crisp and sharp story- telling style which pulls you into the mind of people who can be downright scary and weird at times. Her pacing of the story was on point - the story progresses briskly and there are very few places where the pace flattens.
Overall, this is a must read for people who love to foray into twisted minds while reading through a solidly written mystery- thriller.
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this ARC; all the opinion expressed in this review are completely my own.
It’s amazing how twisted the bad guys are in this series (and probably in real life). Lucy Kendall continues to do her work, trying to clean up Philadelphia and takes us along on another thrilling ride. I couldn’t stop reading this story, eager to see how it would all wrap up and who was responsible for all the wrongdoing. Lucy, herself, is such a fascinating character and you can’t help but root for her. The writing is easy to follow and the story draws you in from the very beginning.
Note: This series is best read in order.
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!
What a wonderful series of books (so far)
Now onto the third in the series. I'm dreading the last one!
5/5
Feel feel that Stacy Green is one to look out for.
This is the second in the series (The first was also superb) and whist it could be a stand alone novel, I'd certainly recommend reading them in order.
Love the entire premise of the book and Lucy is a real hero whilst being the worst type of villain too and somehow it all works.
There is quite a bit of character development going on this time too which is cleverly and sympathetically done.
Difficult subject matter, handled superbly, even with a hint of comedy where possible.
Looking forward to instalment three.
Little Lost Souls is the 2nd book in the Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller series. This book picks up where Book 1 left off, so I would say it could not be read as a stand alone as you'll need the backstory to fully understand it. Lucy is a private investigator who tries to help children who are victims of pedophiles since she lost her sister after she was abused as a child. In this second installment, she tries to solve the mystery of while teens are being snatched and where they are going. She ends up getting involved in trying to bring down a sex trafficking ring. But once again, everyone has secrets and Lucy has to figure out who she can trust in order to remain safe and to get the correct information to put those in charge away. There is also a sub plot that continues from book 1 and is still not resolved. Guess it's time to read #3 now...
I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review. I was not otherwise compensated.
I really enjoyed the first book in the Lucy Kendall series and was not disappointed by book two.
Another well written, gripping, edge of your seat read. Again like book one this is another hard read at times with tough triggering topics covered. Lucy continues to be a likeable character and you'll find yourself rooting for her and her unorthodox ways for a second time.

🚨MY REVIEW🚨
What a story! This book kept me hooked the whole way through . Just like the first book this one was also another all nighter. Green takes you on a intense ride that pretty much doesn’t stop until the end of the book.
This is the second book in the Lucy Kendall series. Lucy is a former Social Worker and current private investigator/vigilante/ serial killer. I must say she is a very complex character .Lucy is the first serial killer i have found myself rooting for. In book 2 she has went from targeting individual pedophiles to
taking down a child sex trafficking ring after seeing some young girls she saved before being auctioned on the dark web.
This is a series that you need to start with the first book and keep reading as the ending is the set up for the next book. Luckily all 4 books are being released the same day January 30, 2023
on Kindle Unlimited so you can download and read them back to back.

3.5 stars
Lucy is an ex-CPS worker/ private investigator vigilante who doesn't know when to stop. She discovered a sex trafficking ring that she intends to bring down one way or another.
She finds Riley, who is a teenager wrapped up in the ring who she desperately wants to save and will go to great lengths to do it. Lucy finds a connection through a local Spa owner and gets a job as a receptionist there to get more information, when the Spa owner is found dead the authorities try to pin the murder on her she has to lay low and find a way out.
Lucy puts herself in some sticky situations and doesn't know when to hang back or lay low, which could end up costing her her life.
I would have rated this book higher, but the ending threw me off. The book just stopped. I didn't feel like the last chapter or the chapter before it led up to me thinking it was the ending at all. I'm not sure if I'll continue this series or not
An absolutely fantastic read that had me gripped right from the very start, I couldn't put it down and I didn't waant too, I loved it
Just as gripping as the first book of this series, Little Lost Souls is a thrilling read. With Lucy Kendall on the run, yet determined to stay afloat, the plot is good enough to keep the reader turning pages.
I enjoyed the first book and this one did not disappoint either. It is well written story that deals with sensitive matters. I am growing to like Lucy more and I look forward to reading more
Little Lost Souls is book #2 in the Lucy Kendall Crime Thriller Series. It was originally published under the title See Them Run. Lucy Kendall is a former CPS worker turned PI that likes to hand out her own vigilante justice to child predators. She's going undercover to take down a child sex trafficking ring. This time she might go too far and will cross a line she never thought she'd cross.
I really like this series I think we all wish at one time or another that we could take the law into our own hands because let's face it, sometimes our justice system is really disappointing! Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!
Little lost souls is a fabulous second book in the Lucy Kendall series.
Lucy Kendall is not the type of heroine I go for, ie. someone who takes the law onto their own hands. However, Stacy green is a fabulous writer and this genre allows her to explore and expose the depravity young vulnerable children are exposed to through mainly weaknesses in the legal system. Pretty appalling really ....
This book continues with a well built character development of the main protagonists particularly Lucy Kendall herself who you really can't help but develop much fondness with.
I really am enjoying this series much to my surprise although again, a good writer can convert you to any genre of writing when the talent is there... ;)
I'm normally a huge fan of Stacy Green but I'm struggling with this series. I don't think the dark topic helps. It's an ok read and there are some great characters but I'm not a huge fan of Lucy.
Lucy is fast becoming one of my favourite characters, former social worker now private investigator and a little vigilante. She’s the reason I keep coming back. I love her character she’s got so many different sides and has had a great character development. I enjoyed the plot it kept me interested and grabbed me from the start.
First things first!! A HUGE THANK YOU to netgally and bookouture for the copy of Little Lost Souls by Stacy Green.
.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
.
The 2nd book in the Lucy Kendall series and again with the "WOW." Lucy and her friends Chris (the ADAs nephew,) Kelly (her reclusive hacker friend,) and Detective Todd, from the 1st book. Only this go around has Lucy taking her investigation into child predators to another level and doing what she can to save the children age dole out her style of punishment to those in the online trafficking rings. Lucy has found herself in some scarier places, along with going undercover and the lead witness ends up dead with Lucy's hair next to the body. Lucy also makes a promise to Chris (that I won't spoil) to help him with something in his life. Lucy is twisted, but so fun to read about, even though it can be heavy dealing with children and the trash that traffic them.
.
This book started off a bit slower, but quickly picked up pace and I was turning pages quick! Little Lost Sould was stellar, start to finish. And now I'm onto number 3!
.
Again, HUGE thanks to netgally and bookouture for ARC copy for review. All opinions are mine alone.
This is the second book in the Lucy Kendall series by author Stacy Green. Following my introduction to this series and lead character Lucy Kendall I was looking forward to reading this follow up. Although I enjoyed the first book enough to want to read more I didn’t feel the same grip that many other reviewers did. Lucy a former CPS worker turned Private Investigator is a very complex character and I was aware during this second book that I was getting more into her.
Vulnerable teenagers are being snatched from the streets of Philadelphia and when one of them is found alive, Private Investigator Lucy Kendall promises to find the person behind this suffering. In an effort to save the lost children Lucy is drawn to places the police cannot go. But when a key witness is found dead, and a strand of Lucy’s long red hair is located near her body, Lucy suddenly finds herself under suspicion and on the run.
Lucy has a dark past that the police are well aware of , which leaves Lucy hiding and unable to trust anyone while she continues her search for the real killer. While keeping out of sight Lucy befriends a vulnerable fifteen-year-old Riley, who claims to know who the murderer is. But when Riley disappears, Lucy is facing another race against time to solve this crime and save an innocent girl.
I enjoyed this one more than the first and it was again a solid read. I am finally getting into this series and looking forward to book three.
I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
