This wasn’t up there with my favourite Jane Corry’s unfortunately! We start with a murder – it is Nancy’s mother’s birthday and she has gone to visit her mum and step-dad along with her step brother. Something happens that leads her step brother to be arrested for the murder of their parents. The tension builds throughout the story as we learn that there is more to what happened than meets the eye, and Nancy has a secret to hide about that night.

Sadly, for me, the eventual reveal about what happened was a bit of an anti-climax.

Nancy hides away from the press reporting on the story by relocating to her grandmother’s house in Sidmouth. There she begins to uncover some secrets from the past, when the house was used as a boarding house during the second world war.

The story then begins to switch between Nancy’s point of view, in the present day, and that of Elizabeth, living at Tall Chimneys during the war.

I found Elizabeth’s accounts more gripping than Nancy’s – the secret army was very intriguing – although I felt like that part of the story never really got going!

The end was just a bit baffling – it felt like a lot of things were crammed into a few chapters as the connections were tied up. The very last paragraph sat very oddly next to the rest of the epilogue – perhaps it will be laid out differently in the published version, but in this version it seemed odd switching from the first person narrative to a random third person statement about something that hadn’t been mentioned before! I felt like there was too much focus on trying to wrap up everyone’s stories.

Another great read from Jane Corry.

Nancy is hiding away from the world at her family’s old holiday home, the story of which is told in a dual timeline featuring characters from the time of the Second World War and the secrets hidden away back then. Nancy has secrets of her own, following the end of a court case that has changed her life, leaving two members of her family dead and a third in prison for their murders. Just what is the truth about her new home, Tall Chimneys, as well as what Nancy witnessed on that fateful night. And just who else wants to find her?

I found this book engrossing and was caught up in the different timelines and stories being told. I tried hard to workout the secrets hidden away and loved the reveals at the end. Would recommend.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.

I loved the duel timeline in Coming to find you……..… present day and World War II. Each timeline has its own captivating story and are bursting with characters which are memorable.

Tall Chimneys the family home and Sidmouth are so beautifully portrayed, I felt like I had been to visit them personally.

Family tragedy leads to Nancy seeking refuge in tall chimneys hoping she will find peace and obscurity. Instead, she finds it impossible to run away from her past as it has followed her.

While dealing with her own problems Nancy uncovers secrets with have been held within the walls of tall chimneys.

This book had me captivated. I love the strong female characters each leaving their own mark as they struggled to deal with the unimaginable problems which surround secrets and murder.

Jane Corry has a great talent and this book showcase it perfectly. It’s definitely one I can wholeheartedly recommend my only problem was not being able to put it down .

I absolutely loved this book and it was so close to being 5 stars. We follow Nancy as she desperately tried to escape the family tragedy that has befallen her. Instantly I felt a connection to Nancy and as rooting for her throughout the book. As the book progressed, Corry throws in multiple twists and surprises and it made for thrilling reading.
Surprisingly there is another plot thread, set in the past and I was equally hooked by this thread. The whole book combined to make for emotional, intriguing reading and I just loved it.
Corry's characters are perfect for this book too and tell the story really well. I cannot recommend this book enough.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin General UK for an advance copy.

A beautiful and very compelling novel set in two timelines, the present day and the second world war. The characters are beautifully drawn and the plotting is very deftly done. Very well researched, the novel really brings Sidmouth to life, especially during the war. HIghly recommended, a wonderful read.

A good twisty standalone thriller by author Jane Corry that I didn’t get totally gripped by but it was still well written and enjoyable.

Nancy feels forced to hide away from the world after her family tragedy is the focus of all the national newspapers, She heads for her grandmothers house, a very nice Regency house in a quiet seaside village for some privacy but the old house has its own secrets and a chilling wartime legacy. The problem is someone knows the truth about the night Nancy’s mother and stepfather were murdered and knows where to find her.

The story is told over two timelines and has some good characters that were well developed.

I did enjoy it and would rate it somewhere between a 3 and a 4 star rating.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Penguin UK for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

A scary thriller with powerful and rich storytelling from a brilliant author!
Nancy is the survivor of her mum and stepfather's murder. The press vilify her, believing she knows more about the murder, and may even have been involved. Whilst coping with harassment she doesn't know who to trust. Events get more frightening, and secrets are revealed.
There is a secondary story of the same house during the war, showing the challenges women face.
A scary look at what can happen in step families, who are thrown together. Perfect for mystery, suspense, and womens fiction fans.

I really enjoy Jane Corey’s books, I’ve read them all and so far none have disappointed.
This psychological thriller is set between two timelines, it’s all about secrets and lies. Nancy, whose stepbrother Martin is in prison for murdering his father and Nancy’s mother at the family farmhouse, , just wants to escape all the publicity surrounding the case so goes to her maternal family home Tall Chimneys on the south coast. The story then moves to 1941 when Britain was in the grip of WW2. The house is owned at that time by Nancy’s grandmother’s friend Elizabeth and her husband and tells the story of their abusive marriage and what happens when a teacher, Mr Smith and his 2 pupils Maisie and Shirley are evacuated to Tall Chimneys and how the house ultimately comes into the possession of Nancy’s grandmother. The two timelines nicely merge with one another until it ends with the present day. The book is well written, the characters are very cleverly depicted. A thoroughly enjoyable book I would highly recommend. My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers Penguin for this ARC

My heartfelt thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read an early copy of this outstanding read, I absolutely loved it! I have read that others managed the book in one sitting but I purposely rationed myself because I just didn't want to come to the end.
Coming to Find You is full of real, relatable characters that you actually care about and a plot that is covered by two narratives (maybe three if you include the murder); present day and the Second World War, both of which take place in Sidmouth. All the main charcters are strong, resilient, likeable women, which in itself is quite remarkable which, even in this day and age is a rarity in itself.
I very quickly became invested in the lives of these women, was overcome with emotion on several occasions, and will miss them all now that I have finished reading. What more could you ask for in a book?

Nancy has just experienced the deaths and her mother and step father, and has been involved somehow in a court case involving her step-brother. She retreats to her family holiday house to escape the press intrusion. The story moves between the current day, the night of the big event, and the war time story of inhabitants of the house. The stories all tie up at the conclusion of the book in an interesting way, making this a satisfying read.

An ok read.
When her family tragedy is splashed across the newspapers, Nancy decides to disappear. Her grandmother's beautiful Regency house in a quiet seaside village seems like the safest place to hide. But the old house has its own secrets and a chilling wartime legacy . . .
Now someone knows the truth about the night Nancy's mother and stepfather were murdered. Someone knows where to find her. And they have nothing to lose . . .
So what really happened that night? And how far will she go to keep it hidden?
