What is coming to find Nancy are the lies she has told and the secrets she has kept, and when they arrive it is going to be nasty! Straight off, you know you are in Jane Corry country where everyone has deceits and untruths eating away at them, and nothing is quite as it seems.

Nancy is in at the deep end! Her stepbrother has just been found guilty of murdering Nancy’s mother and her stepfather, Duncan. She has dumped her boyfriend Alex because of what happened and she is trying to hide out in the old family home in Devon. Of course, that’s impossible as the tabloids are after her and… the truth.

She’s partly rescued by Vera who lives next door but then it turns out that Vera has her own secrets and that story veers off into the Second World War and involves Nancy’s grandmother, Adeline. Meanwhile, the stepbrother, Martin, gets weirder, escapes from prison and is out to find Nancy. He is convinced that since he took the rap, she owes him. The love isn’t exactly mutual!

There is more confusion and the secrets and the lies are slowly unravelled before a dramatic and chaotic ending sorts everything out. It’s a great read, fast-moving and controlled and it leaves you wondering just who can be trusted – anywhere – and you won’t be certain until the last page!

A very intriguing book this one. You've essentially got 2 storylines running and so it jumps back and forth with very different characters in each. Eventually the storylines come together and fills in the gaps with some more twists and turns! Definitely a book worth reading and one you'll find hard to put down until you finish!

This book has a dual timeline. We meet Nancy who’s step brother has just been convicted of murdering their Mum and Dad. To escape the media, she travels to Devon to stay in her family’s summer home Tall Chimneys.

Tall chimneys holds some secrets though which is the basis for the second timeline set in WW2.

The timelines work well together and seamlessly pull ‘coincidences’ together. I found myself preferring the second timeline. I actually found myself disliking Nancy and found her timeline a bit all unbelievable.

It was a decent read, I was lucky enough to receive an early copy. The book is out now.

Nancy escapes to Sidmouth after her stepbrother Martin is convicted of killing his dad and her mum. Convinced the journalists will follow and going through her own secret issues she shuts herself off. However we are then treating to a very skillful charscter arc and the telling and intertwining of a historic mystery and Nancy's and Martin's story.
I loved this book all characters were well developed and the twists and turns really hooked me. Although I gueesed Nancy'story early on it was such a pleasure to read. I rooted in each story. Another 5 star thriller highly recommended. Look forward to the next. Thank you to net gallery penguin books general uk and jane ciry formy arc.

Brilliant.
As usual, Jane Corry had me gripped from the beginning.
Enjoyed the story and how the different eras and events intertwined.

Set during both WW2 and the present day this book tells the story of a house and the people who lived there.

A fascinating story but you do need to concentrate as the different layers are revealed.

Without a doubt this is going to be one of my books of the year!! Part psychological thriller, part murder mystery, part historical thriller this book has something for everyone. Set in Sidmouth, Devon the story flits between the present and 1941 when Britain was faced with the prospect of invasion by Germany. The present from Nancy’s POV and the past Elizabeth’s. The characters are all beautifully drawn from Maisie and Shelly the young evacuees to Elizabeth, Adeline and Nancy.

Briefly, we first meet Nancy following the trial of her step brother Martin for the murder of her step father and mother. He is found guilty but Nancy for some unknown reason believes she is guilty too. But someone know the truth about the murders… Following the trial in London Nancy runs from the press intrusion to Tall Chimneys, a house in Sidmouth left to her by her mother. In 1941 the house belonged to a close friend of her grandmother Adeline. The owner Elizabeth has a fractious relationship with her husband and following the loss of her son Philip to the war she starts to take in evacuees from London.

The suspense was so good as family secrets are gradually revealed and the house is hiding it’s own secrets! This was a gripping read from start to finish and don’t you love it when you learn something new; I now know what a “silent sentence” is! This is one hell of an emotional ride, a brilliant book that I couldn’t put down right up to the shocking end. A stunning read.

An atmospheric domestic suspense with disturbing secrets and an exploration of the impact of being related to a murderer. Dual timeline, current and 1940s, with the family holiday home as the connecting element. The suspense builds as the story develops, and Nancy, the current-day protagonist, has many characteristics of an unreliable narrator but still draws the readers' empathy. It's a compelling read. I like the vivid description, the characterisation and the suspense.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

A stunning thriller which will keep you guessing until the very last!

Since Nancy's mother and stepfather were brutally murdered and her stepbrother was found guilty and jailed, Nancy has been pursued by journalists and photographers and just needs to get away. The obvious place to go is her grandmother's Regency house in a small seaside village; of course, the house has it's own secrets and wartime legacy . . .

This a dual timeline story - not always a favourite of mine - but, in this case, beautifully told. As the many layers were peeled back, I was just desperate to find out what came next - in both stories! The tension is, at times, quite palpable and the ending? Well, I'll let you find that out for yourself! Very exciting and unpredictable, this is worthy of five glowing stars and - naturally - my recommendation!

My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.

Nancy returns to her family seaside house after her stepbrother Martin murdered her mother and stepfather and so she escaped the media but the house has it`s secrets back to World War 2.
Loved the storyline from World War 2 and how it all the characters connected together, but didn`t like Martin and the storyline with him in it.
The ending was the icing on the cake, brilliant.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC

I've read all Jane Corry's book, and I think this is one of her best.
Nancy's mother and stepfather are dead - murdered in her presence by her stepbrother who has been sentenced to life in prison. Now Nancy has her own sentence to serve - judged guilty by association and haunted by her own dark secrets she flees to the family home of Tall Chimneys - which harbours secrets of its own. What happened there during the war? A dual time line tells the parallel stories of Nancy and her grandmother's best friend Elizabeth, who was one of Churchill's secret army - civilians who had to be ruthless when neecessary.
Two women touched by tragedy and unable to trust anyone around them - will they find the strength to overcome the very real dangerous challenges that lie ahead?
I really enjoyed this book - both the present-day and wartime story were gripping and suspenseful, with characters who drew you into their lives. The plot was well-paced and the threads pulled together perfectly,
There are no huge surprises in the story but there's plenty of drama. It's an easy read, perfect for fans of family drama noir.

I loved reading this book. A dual story covering WW2 and present day. Both female characters have had something to do with killing someone and the story explores why and how. Lots of twists and turns and a gripping storyline.

nancy is in hiding and what better way to hide than down in her families holiday home away from prying eyes

she has been advised by the police to lay low until another big case or news story comes along and then everyone will forget about her

her step brother has just been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her mom and step dad

but coming home isnt as peaceful as she hopes

ohhh this was a great thriller of a ride...you never knew what other secrets were going to come out and the duel timeline with her grandmother added to the history of the place she now calls home

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and with so much mystery and so many secrets to unravel it had me in its grip throughout. Spanning two time periods, i.e. WW2 and present day, it cleverly blends the stories of generations of one family and the iconic house in which they lived in Devon, over the years. I liked how the chapters alternated between that war period and the present day, each one often ending on a cliffhanger making me eager to pick up the thread after the current chapter. There are so many secrets held by characters in both timelines as well as murder, romance and threat that had me on the edge of my seat. The story had a satisfactory conclusion and I remain a big fan of this author's work. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a good read that has many different layers.
Nancy needs to escape London following her stepbrother being charged and imprisoned for murder. As Nancy was there some people are accusing her of being involved so she needs to get away.
Her grandmother’s house on the South coast is empty so she goes there to take some time out.
She is soon found by the press but decides to stick it out with the support of some neighbours.
We also learn about the house’s past and what happened to her grandmother there during the war.
Both stories draw you in and it’s great to have both past and present in one book.
This is more a family drama than a thriller but I really enjoyed it.
Thanks to Penguin and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Coming To Find You is a dual timeline read that works well.
Nancys stepbrother Martin has been sentenced to life in jail for the murder of his father and step mum. To get away from the media Nancy escapes to Tall Trees in Sidmouth Devon, a large regency house that was where her grandmother lived. Despite Nancy coming here for peace and quiet it doesn’t quite work out that way. The media catch up with her and her ex fiancé finds her, begging to take him back. Through discoveries in the house this leads to the second timeline being introduced, going back to world war two and life in Tall Trees then and following Elizabeth’s life who has a very different story to tell.
This was another good read from Jane Corry, I liked how the two timelines linked pretty seamlessly together. I wouldn’t say there were any twists or major reveals along the way but for someone that does like a good twist I still really enjoyed this book.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Penguin General UK, Viking for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

Coming to Find You By @janecorry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Set within two time eras of the second world war and now this book has you gripped from the very beginning.

Nancy has come to Tall Chimneys to get away from everything and everyone following the death or her stepdad and mum, but someone is determined to find her.

Whilst Elizabeth has just said goodbye to her son who is off to war and her life won't be the same again.

I love a book which is set in present time and years before and always find accounts of wartime so interesting even when like this the story isn't real but the life its depicting is.

This book is full of twists and turns until the very end.
The Ebook is out now or you can buy it tomorrow 22nd June.

I would like to thank @netgalley @penguinukbooks for giving me the chance to read this book early.

A excellent engaging read. Told over two timelines, WW2 and the present day.
Two families, different decades, many mirroring similarities.
A brilliant tale of life, love, experiences, revenge and memories

Having read several books by this author I was interested to read this latest title. Slightly different from her other books, set over two timelines. Nancy escapes to Devon to escape the press and the court case she was involved in after the death of her mother and her husband.
Accepted in this community very quickly the history of Tall Chimneys during WW2 is explored, as are her relations who lived there. History certainly repeats itself in this family!
The characters are well rounded and the guilt they feel over events that overtake them well explored.
Three and a half stars for me!
Many thanks to Netgalley/Jane Corry/Penguin General UK for a digital copy of this title. All opinions expressed are my own.
