A great thriller - I would recommend it!

Although a bit predictable, I really enjoyed this! I did have a hard time enjoying the characters as I found them to all be pretty self obsessed and manipulative but I was happy with how everything wrapped up at the end.

Fern and her GP husband, Drew are new to the village of Arberness. Their move from the busy city of Manchester was orchestrated by Drew wanting a fresh start. Fern agreed to the move despite, being a city girl at heart, and although scenic, she finds the village feels very remote. However, Dr Drew’s real motive for the move was to follow the woman he loved, Alice, and with whom he’d been having an affair with back in Manchester. Alice and he had split up after she decided to give her marriage with her husband, Rory, another go, and as Rory grew up in Arberness, it was the perfect place for him and Alice to have a fresh start. As Drew ramps up his attempts to get Alice on her own and convince her to restart the affair Fern isn’t in the dark as much as Drew would like to believe. Drew obviously hasn’t remembered the phrase “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” or is maybe too arrogant to believe he will get caught, and Fern has now been scorned not once but twice. Fern wants revenge but how far will she go to get her retribution on both Drew and Alice?!
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.

I’ve read a lot from Daniel Hurst. All of his books are quick reads and that’s what like. I will continue to keep reading him. This book was another great one.

Excellent psychological thriller! A good page-turner. Daniel Hurst is a new author I just discovered but I’ll add his other books to my to-read list.

I enjoyed this book even though I thought it was a bit predictable at times. My main problem was that I didn't like any of the characters. They were all completely self obsessed and ruthlessly manipulated others in order to get what they wanted. To be honest I thought they deserved each other. This book ends with a hint that there will be a follow up which I may buy for a time when I want a quick read but I'm not sure.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

Her husband is a doctor so everyone trusts him except for her, he is smart and charming but it's all for show. A intense thriller, that brought out the worst emotions in me.

Wow my first book by Daniel Hurst and most definitely not my last! Great first book in the 3 book series.

Fern and her GP husband, Drew are new to the village of Arberness. Their move from the busy city of Manchester was orchestrated by Drew wanting a fresh start. Fern agreed to the move despite, being a city girl at heart, and although scenic, she finds the village feels very remote. Another new author to me and another to go on the favourites list. It didn’t take long for me to despise Drew (which is always a sign of good writing to elicit such a strong response from me) and on one occasion I was really wondering whether he ever thought about the Hippocratic oath he took when he became a doctor to “do no harm”. I was thinking about this book when I wasn’t reading it which again, is the sign of a great book for me and the story whizzed by so quickly I couldn’t believe I got to the end so quickly I was enjoying it so much. Normally I would be disappointed but knowing it is part of a trilogy I was keen to read what comes next. I definitely didn’t see the sting in the tail (twist) at the end so was really pleased with that.

Overall, a great twisty psychological thriller that I highly recommend. I am so excited to have discovered Daniel Hurst’s books and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2 and 3. A totally deserved 5 star read!

Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture my advanced reading copy. Out now.

Really enjoyed this book. It moves along at a good pace and is compulsive. I just had to keep reading. Good twists and I like the fact that this is the start of a series, as I've since found out. I can't wait to read the others.

I am so glad i got to read this book!

I wanna say Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
I found it so fun! This is my first time reading from this author!

I loved all the secrets and revenge. I did see a few things coming but that’s okay! I still had a great time!

I really loved how Fern was not a dumb character! She knew what’s up! I didn’t love love her character but i’m glad she didn’t just let everyone walk all over her! I loved how the story was fast paced and i was definitely engaged! This book will definitely be recommended!

I love a good domestic thriller, and this one did not disappoint. This is my time reading a novel by this author, but it will not be the last. This one hooked me from the beginning. Would recommend!

I enjoyed this book. I did find it to be a little drawn out at certain points but for the most part it kept me wanting to come back for more. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Doctor's Wife by Daniel Hurst from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. The prologue starts the book and gives away a big secret which I normally don't see in most psychological thrillers so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, even with the secret being given away this book takes you on the ride of your life. So many twists and turns that will leave you wondering what on earth could happen next. I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to read more by this author.

This was an absolutely phenomenal read. It was so very gripping, clever and thrilling. We meet Doctor Drew who everyone loves but decides he needs to move away, a fresh start but what he doesn't realise is his wife has discovered his ulterior motive. It is such a great read and i must say i flew through it in a matter of days and have since recommended it several times.

Fast paced from page 1! Daniel Hurst delivers just enough suspense in each chapter to peek your curiosity and keep you reading until the wee hours of the morning! I enjoyed this suspenseful story and read it in a day.
