Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Doctor’s Wife. I have to say this one took awhile to get into, the writing conversations felt juvenile and the main male character was a despicable character BUT WHOAAAAAAA what a TWIST!!!!!!!! All of a sudden this book got sooooo Good! The female character was crazy and you never knew what was going to happen. This finally got to be such a good read, I truly enjoyed it after the first twist!!!

Drew Devlin is a successful doctor living in Manchester, England with his dutiful wife Fern. On the outside, the two seem like a happy, respectable couple.. But appearances can be deceiving.. Drew is intelligent, attractive and very charming. But Drew is also a selfish and self serving cheat. He is happily carrying on an affair with a beautiful woman named Alice, who he cannot seem to get enough of and will do anything to keep this affair going. But Alice’s conscience gets the best of her and she decides to move out of town and start again with her husband Rory. However, Drew doesn’t give up that easily and is soon suggesting to his wife Fern that they two need to move to a new place.. Is Fern truly oblivious to her husbands motives for the move? Or has she caught on to his deception? And once the couple has moved to the new town that is also now home to Alice and her husband Rory, will Drew be able to win back his ex-lovers affections? (All the while keeping both Fern and Rory in the dark) This was a good novel that jumped between Fern and Drew’s prospective throughout the story. The book dragged a bit at parts but the twist and unforeseen ending made up for this lag. I enjoyed this novel and gave it a 3 star rating.

This book was entertaining from start to finish. I found myself guessing what might happen next as the chapters progressed and character viewpoints changed back and forth. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to others!

First off, the first book that I had ever read by Daniel Hurst was amazing and did not get enough “rave” or the talk it deserved. So when I seen this one on NetGalley, I just knew I had to request it and hoped that I would get approved to give my honest review, before it’s release at the end of January 2023.

Are all Doctor’s trustworthy or do they all have secrets they keep, assuming nobody knows? What if the person closest to you truly knows all your truths?

Drew and Fern are husband and wife. Drew Devlin is not the doctor he portrays himself to be no matter what the cost may be. Drews secrets and things he can not get over, gives him this idea to up and move him and his wife to a village. A village where a woman lives that Drew had been having a secret affair with but Drew thinks he is a fly slick little man. Fern wasn’t so sure of it at first being she was a lover of a big city life, a town she grew up in.

Eventually they agree and take the plunge but does Drew completely underestimate who Fern truly is, does he think his wife is naïve? Will the tables turn and card will be dealt with revenge and by who? Who all knows what has been going on?

This book was almost a 4 star for me, but I went with a 5 star because one of the LAST twist in the book had me completely mind blown. Throughout the book you could kinda of guess what was going to happen but that thought had more details and depths that were truly unpredictable. This was definitely a page turner and a book that I personally think will do phenomenal in 2023! I COULD NOT put it down. I just needed a little more from the ending… once you get there, you will understand.

Don’t sleep on this one! Very impressive and I think Daniel is well on his way to being a very known, recognized and recommended author.

You know it’s going to be a good read when you’re hooked after reading just the prologue. I could NOT put this down! I finished it all in one sitting. It’s the first book I’ve read from this author, but it definitely won’t be the last! I lost count of how many times I said “OMG!” & “ WHAT!?”. The twists and turns in this psychological thriller are so good!

Hurst’s books are always a good read and this is another hit. The Doctor’s Wife is twisty and turns and a surprise all the way until the end. I had no idea what was going to happen and I never guessed anything right about the plot. Another great domestic suspense! Started kinda slow (husband cheats on wife) but pathway thru there was a major story twist that I didn't expect .( Not you typical naive wife) Love all books by Daniel Hurst.

This book was so addictive and unputdownable! My head is still spinning from all the twists and turns. Drew Devlin is a handsome doctor in Manchester and he suggests to his wife Fern that they move to Arberness. Fern knows Drew has been having an affair and she wonders why he would want to move. Once they arrive in Arberness, Fern realizes why Drew wanted to move there. What lengths will a woman go to protect the man she loves?? You will find out in this fantastic read!

You won’t be able to put it down! 5 stars

Didn’t I just read the newest Daniel Hurst novel. Yes I did, yet suddenly here is another one in my tbr queue.. I’ve learned they multiply when left unread so here we go again! This one, like most, is a quick enjoyable read and you can count on a couple of unexpected twists which I always appreciate. I’d better get moving, Daniel has probably written another one.

Interesting story,great plot loved the ending when she thinks she has got away with the crime,and there is the uncertainty at the end of the book.

I’ve always been sucked into books about infidelity. Daniel Hurst did us well. His book follows the wife of a doctor who has a secrets, including the fact that he was having an affair and trying to keep his wife out of it.

I loved how Daniel was able to show us both sides of the story, how the doctor felt like he was being careful, but he was falling in love with his mistress.

I was not expecting the ending at all. It sucked me in and made me keep reading. Daniel has a way of drawing you in with the crazy twists and turns he throws your way. And just when you think he blew your mind enough….the epilogue was INSANE!

I look forward to reading more of his books, this was my first try and I was not disappointed. I’m rating this book 4/5 only because it was a bit slow for me in the beginning but it definitely picked up!

I would definitely recommend this book to any psychological thriller fans!

He’s using the power he has in his job to mess with people’s lives, and to get exactly what he wants – no matter who it hurts.

But he’s underestimated me. I’ve had plenty of time, in this big, isolated house, to think about all of his mistakes.

And my husband has no idea what’s about to happen next…

MY REVIEW:
I definitely enjoyed this one (as I do most books of Daniel Hurst!). Well written, as usual, development of characters (even ancillary ones) is excellent. Did I get the twist? Yes, around 70% in. That didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book, though - and I must say that epilogue was clever! I wouldn't have thought of that.

This book was absolutely captivating. The storyline goes back and forth between The Doctor, Drew, and The Doctor’s Wife, Fern. I love that we get to see both perspectives and just how much each of them know about the big secret. I can’t say much without spoiling the secret, but I promise this book is unputdownable and will definitely keep you reading into the late night to finish. Lastly, the ending was a huge twist and a bit of a cliff hanger.

I found The Doctor’s Wife to be enjoyable and engaging. I found it to be tense and gripping with a plot that moved at pace. It also had some great twists that kept me entertained. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.

Most have heard of the inner child, right? So, this is not about any inner child, as this book brought out my inner psychopath. Turns out I have a very strong one living there deep within me. And this book made my inner psychopath very happy.

Having never read anything by this author, when I got to about 70%, all I could actually think about was BUT IS THERE GOING TO BE A TWIST? OR THAT IS IT? JUST A PSYCHOPATH AND $H!TTY HUMANS?

And a twist there was. And then another one.
The twists were not epic and spectacular though, but they were good enough.

Oh, and did I mention it loud enough how much I loved, loved, absolutely loved the psychopath main character? I absolutely rooted for her up to the very end. I was horrified that her psycho plans might fail, and she might "get what she deserves". I was glad when that did not happen. So, yeah. Now I really want to know if others loved her as much as I did just because she was well written, or did I love her because of my inner psychopath who found her so relatable.

Also, the book was not about psychopaths. Not really.

Could not read this book fast enough gosh this was a fantastic book!!! So many twists I never saw coming right down to the last page this book kept me engaged and wanting to know more and more about what was going to happen!!! Hurst is a master thriller writer I cant get enough of his books and this one is no exception definitely one of my favorites of his i highly recommend this!!!

A fabulously fun five star read! I loved the way the author unveiled the story. From the very beginning, he layers in twists followed by questions to which you simply must find the answer, followed by more twists, more questions and so on, keeping you on the edge of your seat. And when at last you get the final answers you smack your forehead because you did not see them coming! Such great storytelling!

I usually don't bother reading the synopsis of a Daniel Hurt novel anymore; if he writes it, I'm going to read it. THE DOCTOR'S WIFE was a thrill ride from start to finish.

Dr. Drew Devlin is charming, but the smarmy kind of charming; there is something fake and off-putting about him, and I disliked him right away. He never misses an opportunity to remind people of his title and how important he is (eyeroll). He is so worn out from his busy practice that he convinces his wife Fern to move from their big city life in Manchester to a small town in the northern part of the country. She agrees, and I was shaking my head in disgust. Another storyline of a woman uprooting her life for a man.

I should have read the synopsis.

Fern readily agreed to move because she knows why her husband wants to move--not because it reminds him of his childhood or any sentimental garbage like that, but because his lover moved there. Fern has this cheating jerk's number, and it was SO fun to see how she made him pay. There was an unexpected twist thrown in for good measure that really made this a satisfying read.

What a story! Moving to a small city to appease her doctor husband, everything is not quite what it seems. Secrets abound everywhere and it’s shown that the doctor/husband has his reasons for moving to a small village. The wife in this story is not as naive as you see in other thrillers.
A quick read that will have you on the edge of your seat.
