Misty Beller is an amazing author, I always know that I am in for an enjoyable time when she comes out with a new book. This book introduces us to four sisters that are trying to fulfill their father's dying wish. The ladies really had no idea what they had agreed to do. This book is really interesting as we learn a little bit more of what it was like to live in the mid 1800's in the wild west. Ms. Beller writes so well about the time period you would think she had lived then and is telling you stories about her friends. I read this book in one day, I just got so caught up in it. Looking forward to read more books in this series!
I received a free download of this book from Netgalley and Bethany House Publisher. This review is my own honest opinion.
Misty M. Beller has written another interesting story set in the Rocky Mountains in the early 1800s! The dying request of their father sends the Collins sisters searching for an Indian woman who once saved his life in what will later become the Wyoming territory! I loved how Riley Turner feels he must protect the four women when they arrive at the rendezvous even though that was not his plan. Riley has his hands full since these women don't take orders very well! I recommend this delightful first book in the Sisters of the Rockies series. I received a complimentary advance copy of Rocky Mountain Rendezvous from the author and Bethany House. This is my honest opinion.
Want to be swept away to the West of 1837? Get ready to experience the beauty of the unsettled country, go on an epic adventure, follow along with loveable characters, and watch love bloom in the least likely of places.
The Collins sisters head West to fulfill their father’s deathbed wish of returning a set of beads to a Piegan Blackfoot woman he credits with saving his life on his own adventures out West. Using the trapper rendezvous as their starting place, they soon realize this journey may be harder than they originally planned. I loved the search through the beautiful landscape for Steps Right, the added mystery of a horse thief, the strong personalities of each of the sisters, and the budding love story between Riley and Juniper.
Pick this one up if you like:
-Tales of sisterhood
-Adventures out West
-Light themes of faith
-Sweet love story
-Bravery
-The perfect among of mystery
-Animal Lovers
-The beginning of a new series
-Strong characters and a beautiful setting
The ending may honestly be my favorite part of this book! Yes, we are left with more questions than answers BUT it is done in such a beautiful way. I loved the way the author set the stage for this series to continue, and I will absolutely be picking up the next book in the series!
Travel to the Rocky Mountains, with the four Collins sisters, as they go to carry out their father’s last request. But in order to do that they need to find an Indian woman named “Steps Right” This is much easier said than done it seems. They meet Riley Turner, one of the men at the rendezvous and one of the sisters, Juniper, forms a closer relationship to Riley.
This was a good story! The characters were good. I did have trouble following the story for the first half but then the last half was really good. I did feel like there was too much emphasis on the rendezvous men being potentially dangerous to the women, if you catch my meaning. But other than that it was good. Clean and a light Christian message.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I have so enjoyed Misty’s other books that I really looked forward to this one. For me, the book moved too slowly and the characters were not as well developed. There was just not enough action. It took too long for the plot to thicken. I’ve read other reviews in praise of this book and I’ll try the next one in the series because I have liked her books so often. I received an advance electronic version of this book for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
This book is great for readers of the western genre. I recommend it for those looking for inspirational western fiction. I did enjoy that interactions with the different tribes in this story. I learned a lot!
Thank you Bethany House for the gifted book.
DNF @ 50%. I didn't dislike the book, but there wasn't enough happening that made me want to continue turning the pages. I don't need a book to be super plot driven to enjoy it, but there weren't other aspects of the story that I was connecting with enough to keep reading.
3 star rating is based off of what I had read before setting it aside.
This novel combines several of my favorite topics: sisters, mountain men, the frontier, and Wyoming.
Four sisters embark on tracking down a native woman who had saved their father. Luckily, trapper Riley becomes their guide and protector.
I loved the easiness of the dialogue and the closeness of the sisters.
I also liked how Beller kept the story in 1837 without infusing any modernism or modern day proclivities.
The best part was the environment of the frontier in all is pristine wilderness glory.
I’m looking forward to the next book.
This was a nice read, and the first of Misty's books that I've read. It was paced a bit slower than what I usually read (Christian romantic suspense) but it was a good change for me. Every so often
I find the need to switch it up with different book genres, and that I enjoy reading so much more when I do.
This book has just the right touches of sweet and clean romance, and is a squeaky clean read for all ages.
The female lead, Juniper Collins and her three sisters were enjoyable to read about, each with their own unique personalities, gifts and quirks. I loved how they planned and thought things through together on their journey, and it was clear how they truly cared for each other. This is a great sister tale.
Their trail guide, mountain man and trapper Riley Turner was an intriguing character, and had a strong faith that was admirable.
If you love old westerns, horses, or history, you'll love this book!
Rocky Moundain Rendezvous is a beautiful tale of faith and family, and is the first in a series that has much promise.
Thank you to the publisher and author for the complimentary paperback I received to review through Interviews and Reviews, and the e-book I received through Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.
This was a lovely book by this author She is a writer I generally enjoy and this book was no different. I loved the characters and how they came together, and look forward to possibly seeing more of the other characters' stories in subsequent books. As always, a simple sweet romance that leaves you smiling.
Rocky Mountain Rendezvous, another great read by Beller. I love reading all her books which are written in a time period when the west was being settled and the Indians and the mountainous territory was not favorable to the white man. Set in July 1837 in the Green River Valley, four sisters are on a journey that their dying father requested of them, to find a certain Indian woman who had befriended him. It is hard to fathom that they would be brave enough to even try and fulfill his dying wish. Can four women with no protector be safe with a bunch of trappers and rough mountain men? Riley Turner just wants to live a peaceful and quiet life off the land and trapping for furs, but when the four sisters arrive at the trapper rendezvous, he feels the need to protect them and make sure they are safe. This was a wonderful story full of everything I like in her book: a sweet romance, great characters, adventure and a hint of mystery. Also Beller always brings in faith in God and putting one’s trust in Him…. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and the publisher and was not required to post a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
Though Misty Beller has many books to her name I’d yet to read one. It’s always nice to come across an author that you aren’t familiar with and discover you enjoy their writing.
The Rendezvous, where all the trappers and many native Americans tribal people went to gather supplies, and the actions of the wagon train master, set the stage for immediate tension. You can’t help but appreciate Riley, whose heart is to protect.
The sisters seem far more naive than I would have expected for four women who set off across America on their own, but their confrontation with reality opened the door to their path of growth and development.
The twists and turns of this novel kept me engaged. The intersection of cultures was also well developed. I appreciated even the small ways that healthy perspectives were contrasted to unhealthy ones (as in the assumption about whether natives were at the heart of the crimes, or not).
While some of the plot direction followed predictable tracks, I found myself immersed in the story and I look forward to the next book in the series and the continuation of the journey to return the beads. In the meantime I’ve already picked up some other novels by Beller to explore.
I was given a free, digital copy of this book with the expectation that I would leave an honest review of my opinion.
This is the first book in a new series by Misty Beller. And it was really good. Juniper Collins and her 3 sisters set out to fulfil their father's final wish, find the woman that helped him 20 years ago. So, off they go. When they get to the end of the line, they find a rendezvous of trappers. One of the trappers, Riley Turner takes it upon himself to help the sisters. This book was really well written, as are all of this author's. The detail makes the book really catch your attention. I highly recommend this book. It's another one with faith and romance that really pulls you in. I did get a copy of the book from NetGalley, but this review is my own opinion.
A delightful historical fiction story! I enjoy the setting and found the characters to be interesting. I had hoped to love this one more then I did, but it is like just me. I am glad to have finally read a Misty M. Beller story though. The cover (as always) is lovely, and the story inside is a great as well! I do feel the men vs. women theme was a bit overdone, I know it was a reflection of the time and of the culture there, but that being a large portion of the plot made it a little harder for me to get into the story. I found at I read it did get better, but yeah. Again, perhaps I just wasn't the intended audience here.
What a great start to a new series! This is an outstanding read that hooks you on the first page and keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next. The author brings the story to life with her words and makes you feel like you are there. If you are a fan of Historical Christian fiction, you will love this book!
I received a complimentary copy from Bethany House and Misty M. Beller via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I am woefully behind on my Misty M. Beller reading, something I’m very sad about as she’s one of my favorites. But Rocky Mountain Rendezvous kicks off a brand new Beller series, and I’m excited to follow this series from the beginning!
I loved Juniper and her sisters at our first meeting and felt bonded to them as we stared down together at the horde of men arriving for the trapper rendezvous. And yes, I may have wondered whether these young women were as prepared for this rowdy gathering as they thought they were – but they spend the rest of the book proving how strong they really are. Each of the four sisters have a distinctive personality and role in the family dynamics, and this makes me look forward even more to their individual stories throughout this series.
And then we have swoony Riley Turner, who takes the Collins sisters under his wing and provides protection, food and friendship. He also joins their search for the woman they are there to find – an old Piegan Blackfoot woman who once saved their father’s life – so they can fulfill their father’s last wishes. I adored Riley. He was, like the sisters, strong but vulnerable and as Beller unpacked his layers my heart went out to him. Watching him fall for Juniper was purely a pleasure and, as swoony as his kisses seemed to be, the moment that had me melting the most involved a sweet kiss to the side of her head instead. (I’m still sighing over it.)
A colorful band of supporting characters – including an orphaned coyote pup – round out the mix and, as I’ve come to expect from this author, the mountain wilderness comes alive on the pages. In fact, in many ways, it is another supporting character and I felt completely immersed in the setting. It was very easy for me to picture all that was going on, to hear the din of the trapper rendezvous, to smell the mountain air (and some of the less desirable odors haha).
Bottom Line: Take a rugged mountainscape, four sisters, a heartfelt wish, a horde of trappers, some native tribes, a coyote pup, themes of belonging and value, and one swoony hero and you’ve got a new Misty M. Beller story that you won’t want to put down! I was solidly invested in the quest to find Steps Right, and some twists related to that search definitely took me by surprise! In short, Rocky Mountain Rendezvous is a thoroughly entertaining read full of wonderful characters and a vibrant setting. I loved it from beginning to end, and I’m already eager for the next one!
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
Rocky Mountain Rendevous by Misty M. Beller is a Christian Historical Romance, and is the first book in a new series set in the Rocky Mountains. Juniper Collins and her three sisters come west to return a special set of beads to a Piegan Blackfoot woman. He leaves this request in his will. The four girls attempt to honor his last wish, but danger and mishaps follow them.
Riley Turner came west to live off the land and find peace. But when he encounters the girls, his life becomes anything by peaceful. From a coyote pup that one of the sisters attempts to care for to the men at the camp surrounding the women and more, this book keeps the action going. I found myself unable to put the book down. I loved the interactions between Juniper and Riley. I also appreciate the scenery and relationships between Juniper and her sisters.
I look forward to reading the next book in this series, as with all of Misty M. Beller’s series.
So if you enjoy works of Christian Historical Romance, check out Rocky Mountain Rendevous by Misty M. Beller for yourself. I definitely recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
4 stars, The Adventure of a Lifetime
ROCKY MOUNTAIN RENDEZVOUS (SISTERS OF THE ROCKIES #1)
by Misty M. Beller
What was Mr. Collins thinking when his last request is to send his four unmarried daughters to the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous with all of those single hunters and trappers? He wants the girls to give a beautiful blue beaded necklace back to a precious Piegan Blackfoot woman who saved his life decades ago in the wilderness.
They are rescued by Riley Turner who takes it upon himself to escort them around the rendezvous to help them find the mysterious woman. Little did Riley know that he would need rescuing from Juniper Collins.
This is a delightful historical fiction novel, set in the wild Rocky Mountains of Wyoming in 1837.

An adventurous journey for four sisters as they attempt to complete their father’s last wish. They face dangerous situations along with an unlikely guide. This was a great read!
What a wonderful story! I loved it from start to finish! Juniper and her sisters embarked on a huge mission to fulfill their father’s dying request. However, it ended up being a larger undertaking than they had anticipated. I loved the way Riley stepped in to help them and offered himself as a guide through the area as they met with several tribes looking for a certain woman. Riley showed himself to be a man who was trustworthy and honorable.
The connection that grew between Riley and Juniper was a slow build and so fun to watch grow. They worked well together on the trail and were clearly drawn to each other. As affection began to grow between them, it was refreshing that they talked things through together and were open about their feelings, even when difficult decisions were ahead of them.
This novel had a sweet romance, an adventurous journey, and interesting characters. Best of all, it is the beginning of a new series! I’m excited to read what comes next.
