A dark horror detective book that failed to truly wow me. I wasn’t connected to the story or main character. In essence this was not the book for me but I think many will enjoy what I couldn’t
I voluntarily read an advanced copy of Archangel: The Book of Mammon by Black Mike. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley and Audere Books for this ARC.
I enjoyed this urban fantasy book much more than I expected. It starts a little choppy, and I was unsure if I would continue reading. But the main character Michael had me hooked after one or two chapters. The pacing had a few issues. Spots where I felt things went by so quickly that I didn't have time to focus on what happened before we hit the next plot shift. I wouldn't mind being able to settle into the emotions just a bit more. That said, I enjoyed how unique and developed the world-building was. Also, Michael and his nemesis Mammon kept the story moving, and I had a lot of fun reading this book. Because it was so readable, I am rounding my star points up and giving this book 4/5 stars.
Struggling to enjoy this book because I like the blurb but I can’t feel connected with the characters. At 22%, things are getting interesting (so I thought) and it sparks my excitement. But, then, it goes flat again and I couldn’t finish it even though I’ve tried so hard to like it.
Great urban fantasy. Michael works for the agency, which I’m guessing is the FBI. He learns that he is half human and half angel. He wields swords of fire and saves earth from being taken over by an archdemon. Deals with some aspects of Christian mythos mixed in with politics but neither is overwhelming. I really enjoyed reading this and I can’t wait for the next book!
Fantastic new take on a crime/thriller with generous doses of demons, human greed and cops. A great read from anonymous author. Looking forward to the sequel. Thank you to #netgalley and publisher for the advance copy. Recommended
If angels, demons, conspiracy theories, cryptocurrency, and conspiracy theories about cryptocurrencies sounds intriguing, then this will be just your cup of tea! Lots of action, and some unexpected twists (although the title is something of a giveaway, there is more to the book than just the title elements.) The ending leaves open the distinct possibility that more of Michael and Sara!
Some of the writing reflects using the same phrases to describe things over and over again; it doesn't interfere with the action but I found it a less-than-polished writing style.

What would you do if you were an angel but had no clue that you were? This is Michael's story. It's a tale of discovery that's full of action and has a bit of love and war thrown in. Fantastic read.
Michael is a human who does not realize he is an archangel. Then he suddenly starts seeing things that other people do not see. He is able to pass into another plane. With Michael's added sight come a host of other problems, including the survival of earth.
Michael has started to see things so when he finds out that his sister Hannah is still alive he knows that he has lost his mind. But he is about to find out that he is an archangel that needs to save the world from a very strong powerful demon. But things aren’t going to be easy but he will have help along the way. Will he be able to find the strength to save the ones that he loves? Michael & Sara have to work together to put the all the pieces together as they can’t trust too many people at the moment. Will Michael be able to save them all? A good interesting read full of otherworldly beings and the battle of good vs evil. I liked the characters Michael is a good man that only wants to do the right thing. Hannah will stop at nothing to get justice. Sara is a good cop just trying her best. They make a good team. Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for the ARC copy. This is my voluntary review.
Michael the Archangel living among human without realise he is an Archangel. Now, it is time to wake up because of the darkness attack, Mammon the Archdemon of greed.
This book give different POV of supernatural. This time about angel and demon, battle between them to save the world. Many kind of creatures living around human. One kind want to help another kind want to drag human to darkness.
Gabriel really helpful and responsible to Michael wake up, michael still adjust the different after his awaken. A lot of secret and then Hannah, Michael sister appear.
Michael relationship with Sara to sudden, from co-worker and then he tell his past, family and then his biggest secret to her, like why?
Anyway, i enjoy the description of angel, demon, other creaturs. The battle was cool, i would like to read more from this series.
Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

Very interesting & well-written novel with some genuine chills. I felt it could have done with a tighter edit & some of the exposition was a wee bit flowery for me. But recommended & definitely original. Thank you to the publisher & Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A solid urban fantasy that leverages the christian mythos well. You get angels and demons in a quasi police procedural vs powerful oligarchs driven be greed (aka mammon). The story itself doesn’t really go into much detail about anything, but that is actually a strength because the story moves along nicely and doesn’t get bogged down anywhere. It is also what prevents the story from being exceptional … in that the story doesn’t really wander far from a fairly predictable plot-line. Still, it is better than most in this niche genre, so I am rounding up my score and will probably pick up the sequel if and when it comes out.
I was given this free advance reader copy (ARC) ebook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

My absolute favorite genre is good, old fashioned urban fantasy. This book seemed like it would be something I would enjoy, so I requested it. Michael is an interesting character, as is his romantic interest Sara and another character Gabriel. This is an interesting universe, and I was intrigued by the premise. However, I did find it a little annoying that some of the action was off-screen, as it were, or a scene would abruptly end, and it would be a couple of days later. I want to see what happened in between. Other than that, and maybe a little bit of too powerful for someone new at it, I quite enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
