If you are looking for an intense and passionate historical romance, you don’t want to miss this one. Their Marchioness immediately captured my attention and I enjoyed the quaint setting and the three main characters.

This is an entertaining story about three people spending time together and exploring their feelings. I enjoyed reading about all the encounters between Elliott, Merritt and Peter. They are all vulnerable but willing to open their hearts to discover what might be. I enjoyed every minute of this short and steamy romance.

Well this was a rather interesting book. There were parts that I thought were absolutely fantastic. Let’s just put it out there. The tumble between the sheets with both was mind blowing. These scenes was very descriptive and narrated wonderfully. I will say though that the M/M threw me off, because I thought it was Merrits pleasure. I then was confused at how Elliot threw a fit when Peter and Merrit were together. What did he expect was going to happen? The writer was superb. The characters were interesting. The plot was off. The relationship for three people back then was entertaining for the book.

What does the marchioness who has everything get for her birthday? A week long sex vacation with her husband and her long ago first love.

I mean... it's an mmf erotic historical. The historical bit is just set dressing, though, not truly integral. And none of the characters are particularly well developed for me. It's a bit more than pure erotica, but only just a bit.

It's fine. It's readable. But for a book that I should have really enjoyed, it's just meh. Obviously YMMV.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book. I love Jess Michaels, so I was excited when I heard she was coming out with this series. I like my romance steamy, but this felt a little like more steam than story. I did think she did an excellent job with Elliot’s character, and I loved how sweet the ending turned out to be.

This is an intensely sensual book (first in the Theirs series) about a happily married couple who introduces another man (Peter) into their relationship. It was meant as a surprise for Merritt’s birthday by her husband (Elliott, the Marquess) during their week’s retreat. This was a big surprise to her because Merritt hadn’t seen Peter for over a decade when her father broke up their relationship. Peter went on to become a celebrated playwright with Elliott as his patron—little did Merritt know. You need to read it to see how they solve this complex arrangement. Will it only be for a week—-or longer??

I love this author’s books—-I have read a lot of them and also love the ones she wrote as Jenna Petersen. She develops the characters so well and weaves them carefully into the plot. Always a joy to read!

I received a free copy of the book in advance and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Great start to a sizzling new series. Elliot and Merritt have been married nearly a decade and he knows that she was torn away from her first love in their arranged marriage. Elliot now has a gift for his Marchioness, a week with her past love as well as her husband. Will it be all she dreamed of? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, emotion and steam. Great characters and very hot. I really liked it.

Jess Michaels really nails steamy historical romance and Their Marchioness might be her best yet. Elliot and Merritt are a married couple and Elliot decides to give his wife a gift, a week with her first love, and him. Peter is a playwright who was unable to marry Merritt because of their class differences and his patron is Merritt's husband. But this is the first time they've been reunited. But even more than just the steam and the reunion between Merritt and Peter, there's also an underlining attraction between Peter and Elliot which gets explored. I will always favor MMF over MFM and I loved the exploration of a relationship between of three of them. Also, this adventure with Peter allows Merritt and Elliot to cross the bounds of their arranged marriage and admit their true feelings. And determine how important Peter is to them as well. This book was on the shorter side and a lot of the scenes were very sensual but there were definitely emotional moments as well!

This was a hot and steamy read and I have no problem with that. The characters were also likeable but my problem was there wasn’t much of a storyline. I usually enjoy this author’s work but I wanted more content to the story. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own. However, I did preorder my own copy.

Their Marchioness is the first book I’ve read by Jess Michaels. I heard her writing was hot and spicy, and they weren’t kidding! Her writing isn’t for those who don’t like reading explicit, open door scenes. If steamy writing with a plot that gets better as it goes along is your cup of tea, you’ll love Their Marchioness.

This is one of the first, if not the first, historical ménage romances I’ve read. The plot itself started off slowly for me, but it picked up. This series starter was enough to pique my interest for Their Duchess which is the next book in the series.

I received an ARC from the author via NetGalley. The opinions expressed above are my own.

Amazingly Jess Michael’s sizzler.

I could not put it down. In days bygone sexual experimentation was quite the way of life it would see as it was a big part of personal entertainment. I am totally not offended but multiple partners as long as there is no abuse.

This one has a good story line to go with it.
For fans is Ms Michael’s this book is a treat . Any wait to read the series .

“Kiss your love, my love”

This was an extremely spicy romance that mainly takes place in the space of a week. A married couple head to a cabin for the wife’s birthday and unbeknownst to her, her husband has arranged her first love to be there as a birthday preset.

This is basically just spice. The first half of the book not much else really happens with the plot besides the spice scenes. Did enjoy the dynamic between Merry, Peter & Elliott.

It was generally a short and enjoyable read but there isn’t much that really fleshes out the story. Which makes it difficult to say much more about the read except that, if you’re looking for something spicy, this is probably it.

Enjoyable enough but probably not overly memorable.

After nearly a decade of marriage, the Marquis and Marchioness of Egerton are going strong. Only Elliot knows a secret about his wife. He knows that Merritt was torn away from her first love, Peter Reid when they were very young, hurtling her into their arranged marriage instead. So as her thirtieth birthday approaches they head to a secluded retreat for a week of pleasure, where he has a very special gift. Merritt cannot believe it when Peter Reid arrives at the cottage her husband has let. Believes it less when Elliot suggests that for this week she could have every fantasy she ever imagined - with both men. It’s a suggestion impossible to refuse and she surrenders to pleasure more powerful than anything she’s ever experienced. Peter is now a celebrated playwright, his patron none other than the Elliot, himself, he has more confidence in himself and what he wants. He wants Merritt. And he wants Elliot.
A very steamy ménage novella, which concentrates on the physical rather than the emotional, I wish it had been longer so that there could have been more character development. That said I did like Elliot, Merry & Peter & enjoyed the dynamics which entered their relationship & I’m glad there was an epilogue which gave an insight into the future. I did love how Elliot in particular grew & opened up his emotions
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Their Marchioness is the first book in a hot new series by Jess Michaels, and while her books of late have always been steamier than average, I’ve heard this one is a bit more akin to her older, much hotter style. It’s lighter on plot, but it’s not lacking in emotional connection between the central characters, which is enough to convince me as a reader.
I love the setup here. Far too often, historicals have an aristocratic woman who had to leave behind her first love for a boring/stuffy/borderline abusive aristocratic husband. However, that’s not the case here, as Elliot and Merritt are genuinely happy together, even if Merritt does still miss her first love, Peter.
Peter has become a much more mature and worldly person in the intervening years, bringing that into the new, unconventional arrangement, and Merritt even frames that as a positive outcome of their initial separation. And I love how Elliot was initially willing to do something selfless for his wife, but ended up discovering something about himself and his sexuality too.
This book is deeply sensual and emotional in equal measure, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for steamy/erotic, character-centric historical romance.

Wow! I knew this would be hot but the heat hits you within the first few pages.

I enjoyed this book for what it was, erotic historical romance. To my surprise, with the shortness of the book, the emotional attachment I felt was deep. To make such a strong main (Elliot) character so vulnerable was just almost too much. I can relate with a husband who sometimes thinks emotions are a weakness in a man. Peter was such a strong but gentle man yet seemed to me the stronger of the male leads.

Merritt on the other hand was a delight, she knows what she want and doesn't shy away from anything.

I would have liked some more substance in the book except sex and emotions. I have read everyone of Ms. Michaels books so I know what styles she writes and am never disappointed even in the 1st of a new series. Can't wait for Their Duchess to be released.

Thank to the author and New Galley for allowing me to read this book

Their Marchioness is the first book in the new series by Jess Michaels, Theirs. I became a big fan of hers a few years ago when I discovered her work. I loved her blend of storytelling, characters who seemed very real and often flawed, and blistering sexuality. I was quite excited to start her newest series! I hate to admit, however, that I walked away somewhat disappointed.

Elliot and Merritt, the Marquess and Marchioness of Egerton, are going on ten years of marriage. They have quite the sexual appetite for each other, and they have lovely children and everything anyone could want. Elliott knows something about his wife, however, and he wants to treat her to a special week of pleasure for her birthday. When they arrive at their secluded cottage, Merritt discovers that Elliot has invited Peter Reid, her first love from whom she was torn and was then forced into her arranged marriage with Elliot. Years ago Peter was a penniless playwright, but with the help of his patron - the Marquess of Egerton - he has become wildly successful. He's different now; he's more confident now, comfortable with himself, and he still wants Merritt. But now he also wants Elliot. Just how is that going to work?

Unfortunately, the storytelling and character growth I've come to appreciate from Jess Michaels were sadly lacking here; all that really made an appearance was the blistering sexuality. Not that there is anything wrong with that, if that's all you're looking for; I was just looking for more. We discovered just the rudimentary facts about the pasts of Merritt and Peter, and of Merritt and Elliot's history. Heck, I didn't realize Merritt and Elliot had children until they were mentioned briefly near the end of the story! Just touching on everyone's past history didn't really help to understand their motivations and feelings. I've never been involved in a polyamorous relationship (which I am sure my mother, who reads my reviews, will be grateful to know!), but I would imagine the feelings of all involved would be a bit more complicated than a bit of jealousy. Being a novella instead of a full-length novel didn't lend enough time to explore the emotional tangles of the three, how such a partnership would work when they returned to their real lives and the like. However, if you're looking for an extremely graphic read (or how-to guide), this story will leave you satisfied.

I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. I received no compensation for my review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This book is just shameless smut, which I respect. There's beautiful people, a tiny bit of conflict and smut. That's all there is and I respect that. The book is also more of a novella rather than a novel by being 138 pages. I've also realised that I may be a fan of this authors because I've now read two of their books.

Thank you NetGalley and The Passionate Pen for the chance to read and review this!

Not my cup of Tea I like a bit of plot with my steam of which there was none. Also i don't know why they would risk was it described as a happy marriage. While I have liked other books by this author I will probably skip the rest of this series the steam is fine but the lack of plot is not for me. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Their Marchioness is the first book in the Theirs series by Jess Michaels. Wow! This one is super, super steamy! Elliot, Marquess of Egerton, and his wife Merritt has had a passionate, happy marriage for the past decade. In an arranged marriage, the couple has grown stronger and more secure in their passions. On Merritt’s birthday, Elliot takes her to a secluded cottage and invites her first love, Peter Reid, to join them. After the shock wears off, the three explore their passion and fantasies. But insecurities and jealousy surface when all pretense is crumbled away, and three vulnerable people are left to figure out their future.

I loved the writing and plot of this book. The whole book is sex scene after sex scene – and they are incredible. But the quality that makes this book so unique and unforgettable is that the character development is super strong. That development is derived and cultivated from the sensual interactions of Elliot, Merritt, and Peter. I fell in love with Elliot. He buries his desires and needs, always giving and never receiving. Merritt and Peter tear down these walls Elliot has built around his heart for a time. Elliot’s emotional and sexual journey was breathtaking. It is beautiful how Elliot discovers his worth; he also has all his inhibitions destroyed by Merritt and Peter.

The dynamic between Peter, Merritt, and Elliot is intricate and sensually potent. This is an easy-to-read, fast-paced, ultra-steamy romance. I was invested in the characters on the first page. Jess Michaels has created romance magic by taking a story of three people’s insecurities and fantasies and having those evolve into a reality of happiness, security, and love. I was moved by Elliot, Merritt, and Peter’s romance. I didn’t want this fiery, explosive, heart-pounding romance to end! I can’t wait for the other two books in this series!
