This is a cute and fun romcom!! Kitty owns a cat sitting business and Miles is a data analyst for an NHL team. (I have to say his career sounded very interesting!.) They are brought together when Miles needs a cat sitter for his mom’s cat. After an awkward first meeting where Kitty realizes Miles doesn’t even like cats it seems as though there will be no middle ground between them. Since this is a romcom more fun moments take place and the two main characters realize maybe they like each other after all. There are some important and serious moments in the book but overall this is a light hearted story that is great for beach and summer reading.

A Love Catastrophe was a perfect summer escape. The book follows Kitty and Miles, an unlikely couple due to her sweet and optimistic attitude and his overall hard and serious demeanor. But when Kitty is hired to cat sit for MIles' mother, the sparks fly and love is in the air.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an advanced copy of this book.

This book was bonkers, but I mean that in a good way. It's silly, it's clever, and just a whole lot of fun.

Miles and Kitty have some really great banter and I enjoyed seeing Kitty through her interactions not just with her pet clients, but their owners, and as she really came into herself as a person. She and Miles kind of bond through past trauma and loss, but also a shared desire to make their situations better and they found comfort with each other.

I could have maybe done without that final dramatic conflict, but overall this was a breezy romp and I would watch the heck out of a movie based on this. I also saw some hints for Mile's ladies' man teammate and Kitty's sister, so I'm throwing it into the world that I would read a book focused on them.

When dog owner and NHL statistician Miles needs help looking after his mother's cat as he finds a place for her in memory care, he reaches out to the internet-famous Kitty Whisperer. Kitty has made a business out of caring for others' cats, in addition to being a social media personality with pet-themed sponsorships. But even in her mid-twenties, she lives at home, struggling to leave her alone as mother an empty nester. The cat lover and cat tolerator bond over their shared grief of losing someone they love at a young age (her, her father, him, his younger brother) and begin to grow closer.

This book is written for cat lovers. For the people who talk to their cats, dress their cats, and excuse their poor behavior even when it's destroying a house. I am not a cat person. I am not really a pet person, to be honest. But I love Helena Hunting, I love her hockey romances, and I love Forever books, so I went into this hoping for the best. And it was good! But I am not the target audience. It was extremely light on classic Helena Hunting steam and sizzle, with only minor hockey moments, and certainly focused on cats. I wish it had more Hunting heat and flair. But I enjoyed the book, which was a pretty standard romance read aside from all the cats, but I think cat owners will love it.

Thanks to Forever for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have read every single hockey book Helena Hunting has ever published and know I always will. She was my first author of hockey romance I read and the reason I am now deep in the #booktok world. However, I have not gotten around to try out her non-hockey series until now. Let me tell you, I do not know what I was waiting for. Helena's writing extends across all settings as a must read. The way she quickly sets the scene and gets you attached to her characters is something not a lot of authors can do for me. The way she works in puns and humor while telling a great love story is unmatched.

Kitty, our female main character, owns her own cat-sitting business, Kitty Whisperer. The name Kitty and her social media leave open the jokes for our simple minded main characters and co-workers/friends that will keep you laughing. She takes her job seriously and loves all her furry companions which is a nice

Insert our Mr. Gumps, Miles who needs Kitty's help desperately. While he is not a cat lover, he enlists Kitty's help to take care of his mom's cat while she is in the hospital and dealing with her own health. However, these two do not have the typical meet cute in a romantic comedy and are soon the enemies prior to lovers. Kitty loathes the names he will call his mom's beloved cat and it does not help that she was tackled by Miles the first time they met.

While Kitty grows close to the cat, Prince Francis, she also feels her heart start to thaw towards Miles when they both navigate some heavy emotions about life being unfair to the both of them. Miles also starts to fall for both Kitty and Prince Francis and soon, both are mainstays in his life. Add in some fun from his best friend and team members of the NHL team he works for and you get a recipe for some laughs. Plus, we love a story with no 3rd act breakup and the conflict of the book not dealing with the couple themselves but outside conflict. Plus, the way Miles handled the conflict and supporting Kitty, *swoon*

I feel like Helena Hunting writes with a pen of gold when it comes to books I love and this one is no different!

Kitty Hart is an instagram famous cat-sitter also known as the Kitty Whisperer. Her newest client is Miles Thorn who asked Kitty to take care of his mom’s cat, Prince Francis. They get off on the wrong foot almost immediately as Miles is clearly not a cat person. As they begin to spend time together and get to know each other, sparks begin to fly.

Helena Hunting does a fabulous job weaving in more emotional and complex topics (past death of a sibling and of a parent, parent with dementia, grief, and anxiety) in a way that handles them with such care. I loved how Kitty and Miles were so kind and patient in supporting each other through their grief and had amazing chemistry - they were an all around great couple. I’m not a cat person (sorry to those who are) but I know this book will bring so much joy to all the cat lovers out there.

Thanks to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Helena Hunting is one of my go-to authors when I'm in the mood for a rom com and she really delivers with her latest novel, A Love Catastrophe.

Kitty Hart has a way with cats. She owns a popular cat sitting service, has a huge social media following, and is known as the "Kitty Whisperer." If your cat is misbehaving, chances are, Kitty will be able to solve the problem.

That's what Miles Thorn is hoping anyway. Miles is a dog person but has been tasked with caring for his mom's mischievous Sphynx cat, Prince Francis, and it's not going well, to say the least.

The first meeting between Miles and Kitty doesn't go well. Miles is gruff and makes several mean comments about cats, which didn't endear him to me or to Kitty. As both Kitty got to know Miles better though, it became clear though that he really is a sweet guy who is just dealing with a lot right now. His mom has dementia and he has been the only caregiver and it is weighing heavily on him.

There are many hilarious misadventures along the way as Kitty determines what is wrong with Prince Francis and educates Miles on how to properly appreciate cats. Miles and Kitty have great chemistry, and many of their scenes are packed with fun banter and silly cat puns that will make you chuckle.

I also enjoyed that this book wasn't just fun rom-com antics. The story also has some weight as Miles deals with his mom's dementia, and Kitty, though she hides it better, is also grieving s loss. It was really sweet how these two went from enemies to each other's biggest supporter. I just loved them so much!

A Love Catastrophe is another delightful and heartwarming read from Helena Hunting!

Perfect for fans of:

😻Enemies to lovers

Listened to this on audio. The narrators are fantastic.
It's a cute story with two awkward characters that start off on the wrong foot. I liked that they are both kind of nerdy in their own way. It was also pretty emotional with regards to Miles' mother who has dementia. And to be honest, I probably enjoyed the relationship between her and Miles the most. Definitely hit me in the feels. It was enjoyable but probably not real memorable.

I'm not fond of cats and I'm not a hockey fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed this mildly spicy book about two people who find they are perfect for each other. Kitty (who owns a cat sitting/training business) and dog owner Miles (who works for a hockey team) encounter each other as Miles deals with his mother's dementia and her "demon" cat and Kitty tries to assist him through this traumatic time, while dealing with her own trauma and concerns. The book deals with family issues of loss, grief, aging in an honest, humorous and heartfelt journey as Miles learns to appreciate his mother, her cat AND Kitty. Kitty begins to believe in herself and her future to expand to love others again, despite her fear of loss. This is the first book I've read by this author, but I look forward to reading more!

As cheesey as this book was, I enjoyed most of it. It’s hard to take a book too seriously when the female MC’s name is Kitty and she owns cat sitting/training business named The Kitty Whisperer. The character names were too on the nose (Kat’s Cat Cafe) and Kitty’s cat apparel along with her name and car made her sound like a caricature.

But Kitty and Miles are sweet together, had some adorkable banter, and I laughed out loud a few times. I’d recommend this as a library read when you’re in the mood for cheesy and a quick read, but be mindful that grief of losing a close family member is a a major theme.

This opposites-attract romance was cute, funny, and full of cat puns, that even a dog lover could enjoy.

Kitty is known on social media as the cat whisperer, she’s made her love of cats her career. Miles needs help caring for his mom’s cat while she’s in the hospital and hires Kitty.  From the moment this cat-obsessed FMC meets this dog-loving MMC the laugh-out-loud hilarious disasters hit.  I laughed so much.

Kitty is quirky, awkward, and tends to babble.  Miles is a sexy hockey nerd.  Their chemistry leads to a perfectly paced slow burn.  Under the humor and corniness was a story about two people overcoming survivor's guilt and finding support within each other and their adorably precious furry (and not-furry) pets.

This isn't a hockey romance, but as a fan of the subgenre I loved the dose we were given.  Helena Hunting was one of the first authors who introduced me to the world of hockey romance.  I think I need more and Parker needs his own story.

I really liked the concept of this book! I’m a huge animal lover (more so dogs than cats) and can completely relate with Kitty and Miles! It was cute and fairly predictable, some things caught me off guard, but it was destined for an HEA. I loved all the humor thrown in that literally had me laughing out loud at parts! If you like romance with cats, dogs, and slightly awkward people, this is the book for you!

The Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting is a cute adorable romcom. First, this author can write no wrong and I will read everything from her! This is not your typical Helena Hunting book so go into it with an open mind. I loved the social media stuff in the book because it all felt realistic. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable and the steam is always nice. I will always recommend this author and can't wait to read her future books!

I want to start by saying you have to be a cat lover to really enjoy this book. Unfortunately, I am not a cat person which plays a big role in how I feel about this book. Second, there are a lot of things happening within this book.

A LOVE CATASTROPHE by Helena Hunting fell flat for me. Although it's contemporary, so much of the story felt unrealistic (some of the overly awkward interactions and events), and much of the dialogue between Kitty and Miles felt too cheesy (like, yes, I get that you're falling in love, but all of this is coming across as too twitterpated). It just wasn't for me. That being said, I do think pet lovers--especially cat lovers--will enjoy this read.

Miles needs to find a cat sitter for his mother's evil sphinx cat after he finds out her health is worse than he realized. As a statistician for the NHL, he spends too much time on the road to be able to take care of his dog and his mom's sadistic cat. A quick google search leads him to "The Kitty Whisperer" which seems too cheesy to be real, but after meeting the famous Kitty Hart he discovers that not only is she very real but also very hot. Despite putting his foot in his mouth several times, Kitty is kind and compassionate and just what he needs.

I thought this was going to be an adorable rom com and while it was definitely funny at times this book touched on some seriously deep topics including death of a loved one and how to deal with grief and healing even years later. I definitely feel like Kitty and Miles were meant to be. Kitty's empathy was exactly what Miles needed to get through this difficult time and Kitty was able to see that it was time for her family to move past their own tragedy.

This book was more than I was expecting going into it, but I really enjoyed the journey Kitty and Miles took us on and as someone also still dealing with grief I related deeply to these characters and their struggles. I would recommend checking this one out especially if you are in the same boat.

Thank you NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This one was a disappointment for me. I can get with a cutesy type book on occasion but this one was just too much for me. All the cats and the social media influencing was just not relatable at all. It just felt too normal but also too odd at the same time. I wish there was more, everything just felt kind of bland to me. Between the cat puns and the immature ways of describing things, I just couldn’t get on board.

This book was honestly fine. I liked it enough to keep reading it but it was exactly the most exciting thing to read. I felt like I was sure if the book wanted to be more emotional in that both of the main characters are dealing with pretty traumatic things in regard to their families. (spoiler alert) WIth the FMC dealing with having been the one to have found her father when he died and the MMC's mother dealing with dementia at a young age plus the death of a younger brother. But all of this trauma was just kind of brushed over and both characters are able to get over the issues holding them back fairly quickly and without much actual work from what is seen on the page. Which seems to be the overarching theme in the book that every issue that the couple runs into or the individual main characters runs into is quickly figured out. While I did somewhat enjoy this, it is not something that I would turn to again or really recommend to a friend. Which was a disappointment because I really like some of Helena Hunting's other books.
