Helena Hunting is one of my favorite romance authors for a reason! She's so prolific too, so there's always something new to read by her. I devoured A LOVE CATASTROPHE -- such a great book!

There was so much going on in this book. I did like the characters, and was rooting for them. However, it was not a fast read for me and I found myself distracted by side plots.

I'm a big fan of Helena Hunting. & so it's not a surprise that this was a great read for me. I like the plot and the characters!

This book is cute, quirky light hearted romcom with a lot of cats! as the story evolves we learn they actually have a lot more in common than they realize.

Helena Hunting is the best romance writer! With the perfect mix of heart, humor, spice and romance, A Love Catastrophe will suck you in. You'll love the characters and be rooting for them!

I will not be giving feedback on this title at this time. Unfortunately, I did not finish this book.

The cat puns were damn near hilarious, Miles the cat hater and Kitty the cat-sitter had great chemistry. I loved that Miles' job as a hockey analyst was incorporated and that for much of the book we saw these two as a couple instead of just near the end.
There were some heavier topics including Alzheimer's, grief and death of a loved one, they were written with care but I did find it took up a bit too much of the book putting a damper on some moments.

Some books just aren't for you, and this book just wasn't for me. The FMC was written in a very immature way, and the whole premise wasn't believable to me. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever publishing for the eARC in exchange for a review.

Helena Hunting is great at romcoms and this book showed that. The story is fun and left me feeling happy and light.

(Light spoilers on potential triggers) A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting is a cute romance that deals with surprisingly heavy topics. At first glance, it seems rather lighthearted - it's about a professional cat sitter named Kitty, and the title features a cat pun. But the story discusses the deaths of immediate family members, which happened in the past but are discussed in detail. Miles' mother is also diagnosed with dementia in the present. Kitty and Miles eventually bond over their mutual losses, after a rather awkward start. But it's refreshing how they fall for each other easily once they get to know each other better, and the story even avoids a final act breakup. Overall it's a decent story I would definitely recommend to cat lovers! Four stars.

Kitty is bubbly and wonderful with humans and cats alike. Miles isn't really a cat person, and he's dealing with his mother's declining health, so he can't care for her sphinx, Prince Francis, the way she'd like to. In comes Kitty. Miles finds out about her services and arranges to meet with her and the cat to see if they'll get along well. Their first encounter is a comedy of errors: she falls in the driveway and spills the contents of her purse, he tackles her when he thinks the squirt gun she has for training cats is an actual gun...it sets the tone for the entire story. Both Miles and Kitty have personal trauma in their past and are learning to navigate it in the present while they struggle with their love/hate relationship. It was a very cute book, but some of the love scenes were a bit cringy (to me!) and the language at times seemed really immature. I think there could be something great here, but it would have benefitted from another round of edits.
Many thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve read some of Helena Hunting’s hockey books and enjoyed them, but something about this one wasn’t clicking for me. Her writing style felt different and really wasn’t for me this time. I ended up DNFing at 30%. This could be a book others really enjoy but I just couldn’t get into it or like the characters.

My Favorite Days Are The Ones Where I Wake Up With You Besides Me
4.5 stars!
This book is funny, sweet and had me saying aww and laughing hysterically. Miles and Kitty are hilarious.

Honestly, not my favorite Helena Hunting book. Her books are always must reads or immediate buys for me, but I honestly did not like this book. I couldn’t connect with the main characters and their chemistry didn’t sizzle.

Very kitschy and silly- but cute! Formulaic. If you like cats and Hallmark movies, this is a book for you!

This was very funny (I genuinely laughed out loud in places) and surprisingly moving, with just the right balance of comedy to steam to emotional weight and sweetness. Miles and Kitty are great together - I genuinely believed their relationship and I loved that there somewhat disasterous meet cute resolved so naturally. I also appreciated the representation of grief and loss, including divorce as well as death, and how that grief can disguise feeling stuck as feeling safe. Helena Hunting is a talented contemporary rom com writer, as this novel cemented for me, and a solid rom com choice every time.

This was a cute, short and sweet little palate cleanser
! Very cheesy tho 😅 I feel my taste has changed a bit since I requested it to be fair! You might like it!

It took me forever to read this- and boy did I regret it! I thought this book was a wonderful mix of silly ridiculousness and real life stressors. I loved seeing Kitty and Miles interact in a cute, romantic way, while also being able to process real trauma and support each other through life's difficulties. A unique mix of sappy love story meets heavy life events, 4 stars!

I have always loved Helene Hunting and read basically everything she has released. This book is amazing and everything I’ve been wanting to read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
I've enjoyed Helena Hunting's books in the past and know to expect light, cheesy romances. However, this book about a professional cat trainer was just a bit too cringy/cheesy for me. How many cat puns does one book need? Reader, I am a cat person, but this was a bit much.
