WHAT THE HECK THIS WAS SO FUNNY!!! i adored this and miles and kitty were so awkward it was the best LOL i also will be recommending this as a summer read. it wasn't too stressful and the funny moments and cringe things that happened help to balance out the romance. it was perfect i really enjoyed this and can not wait to read more from this author!!!

Helena Hunting is a comfort author for us. We always know that it’s going to be a funny & cute book with a side of steam. Her heroines are always quirky and her heroes are hunky and you’re always guaranteed a quick read to escape with.
In A Love Catastrophe, Kitty is a cat expert and Miles is a dog lover, in other words, they are complete opposites. Miles hires Kitty to help tame his mother’s cat Prince Francis while she’s in the hospital. They start off hating each other (thanks to an awkward meet cute and some more awkward encounters) but eventually they give in and give a relationship a try. Of course there is a complication or trouble that Kitty needs to overcome but our favourite part was that it didn’t lead to an unnecessary third act break up!
Even though we are dog people 😏, this book was just the entertainment we were looking for!
Read if you like:

I want to start off by saying how much I love Helena Hunting. She is one of my favorite authors. I will read anything and everything she writes. I received this ARC for my honest review and opinion. I give this book 3-4 stars. I can’t decide which way to lean. I was interested in reading the story and finding out what was going to happen but I felt like it didn’t suck me in, like her books normally do.
Miles and Kitty were meant for each other. Kitty was a ray of sunshine is Miles’ world of chaos. He had recently started a new job, which was under a trial basis. So he trying to make a good impression. Not only was he stressed about work, his mom was going through some health problem. It was all hitting him hard, when he met Kitty. She made his life that much brighter. Miles had to do everything he could to be by her side and keep the smile on her face. Kitty was living day by day, not realizing that she wasn’t really living, until she met Miles. He was a fresh of breath air she didn’t know she needed. They came into each other’s lives just at the right time.

5 Quirky Kitty Stars!
I have to admit I’m not lover of all things feline, but there was something about this book that just appealed to me when I read the blurb. And this book is so much more than about Kitty Hart and her cat sitting and training business. It’s about family, friends, moving on when it comes to family and acceptance. In between all of this is a romance that neither Kitty or Miles were expecting or even looking for.
And what a romance it is. It’s filled with witty banter, desire, laugh out loud moments and falling in love with a feline that in and of himself is his own little secondary character in this book. I loved the bumblingness of Miles when he and Kitty first meet. I love that Kitty is living her best life doing what she loves and adores by working with kitties in every shape and form earning her reputation as The Kitty Whisperer.
When you add in the fabulousness of Ms. Hunting’s writing, this is literally a purrfect book and I loved every single minute of it!

A Love Catastrophe is a sweet, funny, and entertaining grumpy/sunshine rom-com with a quirky cat sitter and a grumpy hockey nerd. They are adorably awkward and perfect for one another. If you're looking for a quick, charming, and endearing book with wonderful characters & adorable pets, then this is a must-read!

What a story! I mean, it has everything! It starts off with two awkward people getting off on the wrong foot and crankiness abounds. But eventually, that turns into a different kind of awkwardness, and then, well, heat abounds. Miles & Kitty both have family tragedies in their pasts they’re dealing with, or trying to (or trying not to 🤔). When Miles needs someone to watch his moms cat, he calls the Kitty Whisperer…and it’s like fate stepped in. Even though they didn’t get off on the right foot, they eventually come together and heal each other.

A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting is a delightful rom-com that will leave readers with a smile on their face. The story follows Kitty Hart, the internet-famous Kitty Whisperer, and Miles Thorn, a grumpy hockey nerd. As opposites, their first meeting couldn't be worse, but as the awkwardness fades, a genuine connection begins to form. This slow burn, low heat love story is beautifully crafted, offering a heartfelt and sincere portrayal of two individuals finding their way to a furry-tail ending.
One of the standout aspects of A Love Catastrophe is the exceptional character development. Kitty and Miles are fully fleshed-out characters, each with their own quirks and insecurities. As the story progresses, readers witness their growth, both individually and as a couple. The depth of their emotions and the authenticity of their relationship make their journey relatable and compelling.
Adding to the charm of the story are the lovable fur babies, particularly Wilfred the dog and Prince Francis the Sphynx cat. These adorable companions steal the show with their distinctive personalities and interactions, enhancing the overall warmth and joy of the narrative. Helena Hunting's skillful portrayal of these furry characters creates a heartwarming atmosphere that animal lovers will especially appreciate.
With its sweet and swoon-worthy romance, genuine character development, and endearing fur babies, A Love Catastrophe is a must-read for fans of heartfelt rom-coms. Helena Hunting's engaging writing style and knack for balancing humor and emotion make this book a delightful escape into a world of love, laughter, and furry companionship. Prepare to be charmed and uplifted as you embark on Kitty and Miles' journey towards their heartwarming happily ever after.

A Love Catastrophe was a cute, totally entertaining story filled with awesome scenes, laugh-out-loud moments, and some emotional ones too. I liked the characters and the dual POVs, the adorable moments with the animals, and watching Miles and Kitty come together. It was a fast-paced, easy read that I absolutely enjoyed.
I liked Kitty and her quirky but endearing personality. I liked learning all about her, how her company came to be, and all the subtle innuendos from her name. Miles was a sweetheart but did not make the best first impression when he and Kitty meet. I liked learning the why behind that, their back-and-forth interactions as they get to know each other, and learning about what was going on in his life. There are a lot of hilarious scenes between the two of them (with some animals thrown in!) that had me cracking up, I couldn’t get enough. I liked their chemistry and playful moments. Mixed in with the fun there are some heavier issues they were both dealing with in their lives, I thought it balanced well. I loved seeing them both move forward from the past and embrace change.
This was just a really great story with likable characters who had hearts of gold that were doing the best they could to move on from hard moments in their past. It wasn’t overly angsty or drama filled but there is a tiny bit of conflict to keep it moving forward. I liked the first half better than the second. I liked when they met and the building tension between them as they figure out their attraction, it had me hooked. The second half was steady with a tiny bit of mild drama and a nice happy ending. I liked it but I was missing some of the excitement and spark from the first half.
Overall, it was super enjoyable and I adored the chapter titles, they were the best. This story left me feeling happy with a smile on my face. If you want fun and entertaining, this would be a great choice!

Loved all the cat content, it’s what truly took this book to the top for me, I imagine this will go over great with cat lovers! Great pool book.

Helena Hunting has once again given us another swoony romcom to enjoy! Kitty, the ever optimistic, cat-loving heroine is the opposite of broody, dog loving Miles. When Miles hires Kitty to watch his mother’s cat while she’s in the hospital, the two do not start off on the right foot. It takes an allergic reaction and a trip to the ER for them both to let their guard down and see that they could be so much more than frenemies. I loved Kitty and Miles together. Their chemistry was palpable and they showed each other so much support. While this book has some harder topics such as parental death and illness, grief/trying to move forward and cyber bullying, the two deal with them together and strengthen their bond. The side characters provided some great banter and levity to balance out the heavier moments. This was another winner from Helena and I didn’t expect anything less!

Oh how I love Helena Hunting. Everything she writes is funny and easy and lovable. I didn't even need a summary in order to pick up this book. I'm not even a cat person and I fell in love with it! If you're a lover of rom com's, then what are you waiting for?

I can’t say there was anything wrong with this book. It was fun to read, it was easy to read. The characters were well developed and I enjoyed them. It’s just a solid easy, relaxing read.

Miles & Kitty
So sweet and hilariously funny! I love how both Miles and Kitty are prone to awkward and sometimes embarrassing moments which led them to a very unique initial meeting and unfavorable first impressions.
I love how this author teases with Kitty’s quirky and personal thoughts. More times than not, they make it out of her mouth and into the present which makes for hilarious reading. Sometimes I can’t believe certain thoughts are voiced out loud no matter where she is.
I appreciate the heartfelt and tender memories surrounding Kitty’s childhood and I feel the sadness Miles has and the experiences he feels when dealing with his mother’s illness.
This story is full of funny, cringe-inducing episodes of embarrassment, belly laughs, excellent conversations and very sweet moments between two people who come into each other’s lives at just the right time. The hotness level is very solid and the style of writing is addictive. You want the awkward episodes to keep going, especially with Kitty being able to laugh at herself for her thoughts of Miles in her head. I also love how she is so patient with Prince Francis and his antics. She really is the Kitty Whisperer!
I love the lack of hateful drama, yet, there are some dramatic moments that go very well with the story line. A very fun book to read and one you’ll not forget any time soon. More please.

Let me start by saying that I am not a "cat person" and I still enjoyed this sweet love story about a cat sitter and reluctant hockey player left in charge of his mom's cat. Kitty is quirky and fun while Miles is grumpy and not into cats at all. The romance is very cute and both characters are easy to connect with. I read this one in about one sitting and was entertained the whole time. I highly recommend this book and all of Helena Hunting's work (she writes great contemporary love stories). Thanks to Helena Hunting, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and NetGalley for an ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review.

I usually love all of Helena Hunting's romcoms like the lucky charm, so I was really looking forward to this one. But somehow it didn't fully meet the mark for me.
Even if I was a cat lover I think there would have been too many cat references and puna in this one for me. It felt like there was so much it was taking away from the story. As such Kitty's character felt a little immature.
There were some great aspects as well like the blossoming relationship between Kitty and Miles. I was cheering for this couple to get their HEA. They both had their unique quirks that made them perfect for each other.

This enemies to friendship to love story originates out of the care and feeding of one Prince Francis. Prince Francis is a naughty, high-maintenance, Sphynx cat. His human is currently in the hospital with the beginning stages of dementia, so Prince Francis needs a temporary caretaker.
Kitty Hart is a professional “kitty-whisperer” with a solid social media following. Miles Thorn is a hockey statistician looking for a kitty-sitter to take on his mother’s crazy cat -- AKA Prince Francis. After a few awkward misunderstandings and a near death incident, Kitty and Miles work together to train Prince Francis into not destroying his mom’s house. After a couple of fun “innocent” sleepovers to get the cat in line, they eventually get to the romantic “sexy” sleepovers.
Both Kitty and Miles have mommy “issues” to work out. Mile’s mother needs to move into an assisted living home and Kitty just needs to stop being so dependent on her mom. There are some traumatic familial past events that they empathize with each other, which in turn brings them closer. Our couple gets hit up with a viral social post that goes badly for Kitty and her business. That is the dramatic third act that usually stirs up a breakup – but this is the best part – no breakup! Just mistaken social drama as Kitty and Miles eventually make it to their HEA.
Helena Hunting is a rom-com writing Goddess! I always enjoy a great laugh along with some sexy shenanigans while reading her stories. A Love Catastrophe is what I would call a cozy read – perfect for sitting by the pool this summer and puzzling out all the cat-puns in the captions.
I was given this ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Hunting is one of those authors I’ve been seeing everywhere, and it was time for me to finally give her a shot. This book was a cute, quick read with some surprisingly touching moments about how families deal with grief, how hard it is to move on, etc.
Kitty and the premise were a little too quirky, but miles honestly had some oddball energy himself. I think that’s what made it work - they weren’t really as opposite as they initially seemed. Hairless cats are not my jam, and I can honestly say that I didn’t ever come around to Prince Francis as a concept over the course of this novel. If people cooing over how adorable a cat who looks like dobby the house elf is might bother you, reader beware.
The hardest part for me was the depiction of someone with dementia. I can’t say if it was right or wrong, because there is no one experience with it. But knowing someone in real life who is far past the point where Miles’ mother is, it made reading about her so difficult. I loved that Hunting wanted to tackle something so difficult and I hated reading it because it reminded me how sad and lonely and just plain hard dementia can be.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Forever Books for the gifted e-book ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.
Read this book if you like: Dual POV, animals, grumpy sunshine
This book is so cute, quirky, funny, and heart-warming. There are tons of cat puns and adorably awkward scenes. This was a ton of fun to read. There are some hard-hitting subjects woven into the story. It was done so well. I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend it!

A Love Catastrophe is part witty, part sweet with a touch of seriousness that had me engaged from the beginning until the end.
Miles Thorn and Kitty Hart are characters that are easy to fall in love with. They are both a little weird and a bit nerdy in their own way which makes for some awkward moments that are heartwarmingly sweet. Now, after a rough start they are building a friendship that is growing into so much more. But first, they both need to face the heartbreak and guilt of their pasts.
He lost his brother and she lost her father and both families are still clinging to their past, but is seems that now is the time to try and find a way to move on and enjoy the love they have found in order to move towards their future. And they have finally realized that it hard to move on in your present life if you are holding on too tightly to your past.

I love cats, so the title immediately caught my eye. And I love Helena’s writing, so it was a no brainer to get this book!
Absolutely love the characters and their interactions with one another. The story held both humor and some serious moments which made it hard to put this one down. I have a feeling that will be the same for other readers who love Helena’s words. And if you have never read her words before then this one might be the puurrrfect place to start!
