Another purr-fect read that I didn’t want too put down. My emotions were all over the place. I am in love with Miles and Kitty’s story. This book hit close to home and hence why it was emotional for me. It was sweet, definitely had me laughing and a smile on my face and of course I got teary-eyed. Helena is an author that is an instant one-click and this book wasn’t disappointing at all. Truly a amazing read with characters I will never forget especially Prince Francis.
Kitty Hart & Miles Thorn are a quirky pair, both are absolutely adorable in their awkwardness. They've been through a lot in their lifes. Loss of a sibling, loss of a father, family breakdown & divorce, dementia.
They meet when Miles hires Kitty to care for his mum's cat, Prince Francis, when she is hospitalised with dementia. A first meeting involving a water pistol & a rugby tackle.
This is a fun light-hearted rom com with a shimmer of emotion. Helena balances all the tough topics sensitively but effectively to keep the story light but not belittle the reality of the feelings.

My favourite characters were all the animals OBVIOUSLY, but I also really liked the two main characters! I very much enjoyed their banter, and I was rooting so so hard for them to end up together and get there happily ever after.
I really really enjoy chapter titles!! It brings me back to my childhood almost where all the books I read had chapter titles, and it also gives me a little foreshadowing of what’s to come in the chapter 💕
I laughed-out-loud a few times while reading this book, and I really really appreciate that from a novel! I need some humour along with my romance.
Another lovely read from Helena Hunting! This was a very enjoyable, light-hearted love story that broke up my usual death and murder books 🤣 I really liked both Kitty and Miles, and I absolutely loved the interactions between Miles and grumpy old Prince Francis 🐱 🤪

I have yet to read one of Helena’s books that I didn’t find charming and cute. This one about a cat sitter and a hockey guy. One that loves the felines in her life and the other that prefer a companion in the form of a dog. I’ve always thought dog and cat lovers are totally different and the author leaned into that theory as she created an opposites attract troupe that reads like a romcom that keeps you smiling.
Nothing gritty, just entertaining. Simple boy meets girl love story where they are more the secondary characters to the animals 😂
Side note, names the author created for the four legged pets were purrrfect 👌🏻
Not my fav of hers but still a good beach read 💛
3.5 into 4 stars 🌟

Kitty Hart has become internet famous as the Kitty Whisperer for her expertise on all things feline, and as a result, her cat-sitting business is booming. But lately, she has a terrible feeling that maybe her life isn't quite going where it's supposed to--especially after falling face-first into her newest client. Not exactly the best first impression. Fortunately, Miles Thorn is just as bad at first impressions. Strike one: he doesn't like cats, especially Prince Francis, the haughty and mischievous Sphynx his mom left in his care. Strike two: tackling Kitty to the floor in a misguided attempt to save the pet he continually calls "the gremlin." As awkwardness slides into attraction and things start to turn purr-sonal, will these two complete opposites ever be able to find their furry-tail ending?
This book was super cute and I loved all of the banter and puns. However, I felt like it was missing something. The first half of the book really seemed to rely on the funny bits to keep the story going. There really wasn’t a lot of character development until the second half of the book. While I enjoyed that there wasn’t a third act break up, it felt like the romance was kind of rushed. This book did tacks the topic of grief, which I thought was well done. It wasn’t something I was expecting based off of the description. Overall, I liked A Love Catastrophe, it just wasn’t what I was expecting.

Kitty Hart is popular on social media for being the Kitty Whisperer which happens to be the name of her cat-sitting business. Miles Thorn contacts her about a short term deal watching his mothers cat, Prince Francis, while he figures out what assisted living home to move his mom to. Kitty does not expect him to be as handsome as he is or for him to dislike cats. As she starts this cat sitting gig, she spends more time with him and teaches him how to care for Prince Francis so that he feels loved. They also start to build a friendship and discover that they are both interested in each other. They share the experiences of losing a family member and realize that they have more in common than they thought.
Miles and Kitty are the perfect opposites attract story. I liked how Miles’ job was not a normal job and Kitty’s wasn’t either. I also liked how he defended Kitty when her video went viral in a bad way. So sweet and I loved their banter back and forth!!
While I loved Kitty and everything she did and stood for, because hello!!! Cats and kittens...I was won over on her from beginning. She's punny and witty and I would basically be her in another life. Miles however, I wavered back and forth on. His lack of kitty love had me wavering out, but then he'd be very self aware of his d-baggery which drew me back in. However, the two of them together...I wasn't quite so sold on.
Once Miles opens up and Kitty gives what seems like multiple chances to open up, their opposites attraction does come through, but it took a huge effort to get there. It left me wondering if after the shine wore off if they would make it for the long haul.
This was not for me. The main character is so childlike and naive, willfully ignorant, but then out of nowhere extremely sexually experienced. It felt like reading a romance between an adult and a child.
A Love Catastrophe finds certified dog person Miles in need of help from instafamous cat whisperer Kitty to petsit for his mom’s beloved Prince Francis while she’s in the hospital.
I really liked the banter dynamic between Miles and Kitty and their chemistry was fantastic. All of the pet characters were absolutely adorable and portrayed very realistically in all of their naughty glory.
Though I didn’t expect this from the blurb, I appreciated the exploration of grief and the pain of dealing with aging parents.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and think it was a sweet romance. Thank you so much to Forever and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Another Helena Hunting book that was amazing! I love hockey books and this one with a different perspective was really engaging. I feel like a lot of books now are going with the cat spin though. Overall, one of my favorite Helena Hunting books. Can't wait for the next one!
If you’re a cat person, this is a book for you - full stop. It’s a cute, fun read about a cat trainer/sitter who meets an NHL analyst through his mom’s cat. I’ll admit some of the scenes were cheesy and I thought the spicy scenes were just phrased a little weirdly, but the tension between the characters really made up for that in the long run! There’s also not a third act breakup, which I really appreciate, so definitely add to your TBR for that reason alone! This will come out on 6/13/23, and is a good read for any animal lovers out there!
HOW CUTE is this book! I absolutely loved it. The cats--- OMG. This was a fun and easy read, and I really enjoyed the escape it provided for me.
This was a super cute and fun read I really enjoyed it and couldn't put it down will definitely be buying for some friends and family
Helena Hunting is always an automatic read for me. I love her writing style and can't resist a super cute pet themed book. Perhaps I'm just not a cat person. This was an enjoyable read, but I didn't really engage with Miles and Kitty.
The book sensitively dealt with some very heavy topics - loss of a child/sibling, loss of a parent, early onset dementia. But again, I struggled to connect with the two main characters. The cat puns were thoroughly entertaining.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review. .
A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting was okay! It felt like a congested read, but was enjoyable for the most part!
This was a quick read, but maybe not my favorite? There was some lovely moments and the characters were fine. There wasn’t really any angst in the relationship and that was nice. Overall this was just a nice read. And that’s just fine by me.
It was fine. A bit too much information though. Everything was very dragged out yet predictable. I started to skim a lot of sections. I don't need every detail of what people do in their daily jobs. It's kinda boring.
I have consistently *really* liked Helena Hunting, so I feel guilty that I was not a fan of this one. I loved the premise - a professional cat sitter, Kitty, agrees to help Miles Thorn, hockey analyst and dog lover, by watching his mother's cat while she's in the hospital. Something just didn't work for me here, and I didn't feel much chemistry between the two main characters, the conflict was unexpectedly intense, and there felt like more showing than telling. I'm a mood reader, so I probably just wasn't in the right head space for this one.
Following her well received novel Make a Wish, this stand-alone from Hunting is the story of internet-famous cat-sitter Kitty and grumpy hockey nerd Miles. Kitty owns and runs her own cat-sitting business, the Kitty Whisperer, and is trying to expand the company. Miles is an analyst for the NHL, and while he tries to prove himself at work, he is also attempting to provide for his mother, who is in the hospital. When he needs a sitter for his mother’s cat, Prince Francis (yup that’s his name!), he calls Kitty. Kitty and Miles don’t exactly start off on the right foot, and Kitty doesn’t know how she will deal with Miles while she takes care of Prince Francis. As they get to know each other, however, no matter how much they try to annoy each other they start to develop a friendship and open up in their personal lives bringing them closer. While this is a believable love story, it also is an exploration of grief with just enough comedic relief, You also see the roller coaster of social media play heavily into the novel, showing the characters as real people.
A great story that animal and romance lovers will enjoy! Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. Reviews are my own opinions.
All cat lovers should pick this one for sure without any doubts. It was supposed to be a very fun and light read but after reading it, I can say it dealt quite a bit about grief and how families handle it differently. In this case, both Kitty and Miles have had difficult past and this new relationship between them help each other cope up and face life with a more refreshing start.
Both the cat and dog are definitely impactful charcaters as the whole plot revolves around these two. Kitty with a quirky personality was hilarious and fun but it made me wish Mile's charcater could have been developed more to bring out his personality. Although he was always sweet and caring, something felt missing. Overall, it was a cute and fun read that I definitely enjoyed!
