Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for honest feedback.

I want to start by saying I love Helena Hunting. This book however, did not do it for me. I think my lack of love for cats did not allow me to relate to the quirkiness of Kitty. This book lacked a lot of what I loved from her other books. I missed the real progression and honestly felt like I was missing a good plot. I did appreciate Miles and Kitty's characters finding each other and sharing their similar stories of early loss and guilt. I feel like this book will either be the reader's favorite, or just miss the mark like it did for me.

I will recommend this book to my friends, I am happy I read, and I am still giving a solid 3 stars, because I did not hate the book, again, just wasn't as well liked as a lot of the other titles I love by this author.

This book was ridiculous – ridiculously fun! The two main characters, Kitty Hart and Miles Thorn unintentionally keep falling all over each other. Kitty is the Kitty Whisperer, a cat expert who has a cat-sitting business. Kitty is a lovely, young woman who is a bit awkward around the opposite sex. Miles is a nerd who runs sports stats for a popular hockey team and is also a bit gauche around women.

Miles’ mother is in the hospital suffering from dementia, and he hires Kitty to take care of her cat, Prince Francis. Prince Francis is a temperamental Sphynx cat who has been breaking things around the house since his owner has been gone. Miles gets off on the wrong foot with Kitty when he informs her that he does not like Prince Francis.

As Kitty and Miles navigate the day-to-day, all kinds of hilarity ensue. They soon find they are connected in ways that they could not have imagined and of course, attraction soon blooms.

This was such a fun rom-com and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good laugh, a HEA, and especially cats! My thanks to the publisher, Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the book in exchange for my honest opinion. I gave it four stars!

This was a purr-fect read on a cold winter night. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Miles and Kitty were awkwardly cute and I enjoyed their quirks and how they were just them… This was such an easy and quick read and kept me engaged as I devoured the book on one sitting. It was refreshing and was a nice pace with no unnecessary drama. I loved the couples interaction especially when they first met. This story made me chuckle on multiple occasions and had me in a perma-grin the majority of the time. Miles and Kitty just fit… both finding each other at the right time in their lives. This author has once again proven why she is a go-to for me and never fails to pen fun and quirky characters, storylines and knows how to bring on the laughs.

As a cat lady I could not click download fast enough when I saw A Love Catastrophe. There was a lot going on here and while some of it was good, a lot didn’t work for me, and unfortunately I just didn’t love this one. Our love interests are Kitty and Miles. He’s a dog person and she’s an Instagram famous cat sitter. When Miles hires Kitty to care for his mother’s cat, they immediately butt heads. As they work to take care of Prince Francis (the cat) and deal with troubles in their respective home lives, of course they manage to fall in love.

This book was super cheesy and full of puns, which isn’t a total dealbreaker for me as I don’t generally mind those things, but combined with a rather unbelievable love story (super instalovey) it was hard to root for these characters.

It also had one of the most cringey sex scenes I’ve read recently. Bingo button. Let’s sit on that for a moment.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a review copy. I will probably try this author again in the future.

5 stars - I absolutely loved A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting! The story is very funny, and the writing is spot on. The two main characters are Kitty and Miles who are opposites, and they are so likeable. Kitty talks too much, has trouble keeping the thoughts in her head from coming out of her mouth and is a cat whisperer. Miles is a dog lover and an NHL data analyst. Opposites, yet their chemistry is undeniable.

Miles’ mother has middle stage dementia (as well as some hoarding issues) and blames herself for the loss of her son Toby (Miles’ brother passed away when he was 8 years old). Both Miles and his mother blames themselves for Toby’s death. While Kitty’s father passed away and both Kitty and her mother have trouble letting go and moving forward while keeping their memories precious. As both main characters navigate their family issues, they grow closer together.

There are some steamy scenes which are tastefully done, and consent is highlighted nicely.
Trigger warnings: loss of parent/sibling, dementia, hoarding.
A big “Thank You” to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing me with an advance copy in return for an independent, honest review.

Let me preface this review by saying I’m not a cat lover and therefore clearly not the target audience for this book. I am highly allergic and the only cat I’ve really ever been around was about 100 years old and hated my guts.

I go into almost every book blind, especially when I already know I like the author. I’ve read almost every book by Helena Hunting and while a few have fallen flat I’ve truly loved most of them.

A Love Catastrophe was not for me. This is such a cheesy story with constant kitty chatter. Even if I had read the synopsis I would have still picked this up and assumed that after the first chapter or so, the cat content would die down… but it just kept going. The characters are awkward and quirky and while that can be fun, this was just too much.

While this one didn’t work for me, I’ll read Hunting’s hockey romance any day of the week. In fact, I’ve read the entire Pucked series multiple times. She’s such a fun author and I’m sure cat lovers will feel differently about A Love Catastrophe!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book; all opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to be an early reader.

Good, I always like her stuff. Could probably have used a content warning about deaths/family lose, I imagine it could be disturbing for the wrong audience. (they're handled well, it's a good book, but it's still a lot and not what I was expecting while reading.

This book had me cackling from the very beginning! If your looking for something fun, hilarious and sweet, this is for you!
The story follows Kitty and Miles. Kitty has a business called The kitty whisperer, where she does home check ins and takes care of cats. Miles needs to hire her to take care of his moms cat while she’s in the hospital.
Their first meeting isn’t the best, kitty thinks miles is a cate hating douche and miles thinks kitty is apparently a cat killer.
Their banter is hilarious and light hearted. This was such an easy and enjoyable book to read.
It does discuss some heavier topics, the death of a child (which happened in the past) death of a parent and a parent with dementia. But it was more heartwarming than sad.
This is a pretty low dram book, there’s no third act break up. It would be a great palate cleanser book and it’s one that I’d love to read again for the comfort.
I definitely recommend it and I’m sure you’ll have a Cat-tastic time! Sorry, I couldn’t resist having at least one cat joke😉

A Love Catastrophe is a sweet romance between Kitty and Miles. Kitty runs a cat sitting business and Miles works as a data analyst for the NHL. Their relationship starts out rock but things eventually turn around for the better. I enjoyed how the two characters bond with each other over similar heartbreak. The characters are relatable and down to earth. I laughed out loud and cried. As always, Helena Hunting did a wonderful job with this book. I really enjoyed it.

This was a quick read with Helena Hunting’s typical likable characters. While I will always read everything she writes, I think this may have been a bit too quirky for me. The cat, kitty, kat puns were a bit too much and distracting from the story. These characters have each experienced loss, are still dealing with grief and ongoing consequences of same. So I think the punny-ness took me out of the moment a bit too much to be fully invested. I loved the relationship between the two MC and the two sisters. All in all this wasn’t as much as a rom com as.I expected but still full of heart and romance.

This Rom-Com was absolutely hilarious and I fell completely in love with these characters and the story! This was everything you need in a romance. I love Helena Hunting's books, her story lines are always on point, her writing style sings to my heart. She will always be an auto buy for me and I will never be disappointed.

I was underwhelmed by this book. Being a cat person myself, I loved the subject, but the story just fell flat for me. The romance was kind of just boring and dull. Not enough connection between Kitty and Miles. Everything they said just seemed fake and contrived. Definitely not my favorite book.

This was an enjoyable light romcom. It was full of laughs and plenty of cringe moments. You can’t help but to fall in love with these two quirky characters and their pets!

A light book in the world of hockey and cat sitting, with the influence of social networks in our lives. The subject is also death and turning the page after losing someone.
The characters met at a time when they each need someone and help each other to get better.
A cute story to read at any time.
I would still have liked more twists and turns in the story.

This was the perfect weekend read with characters that I loved! Kitty is a cat person who gets on better with animals than she does with people - and in the story she finds her way to someone who becomes her person. Both her and Miles have experience with grief - which bonds them after a not so positive first encounter. In this story grief is explored in an empathetic. Mention is also made of Alzheimer's. I highly recommend this wonderful story.

I expected both more and less from this book and honestly had a hard time rating it. As an animal lover myself, I was immediately intrigued by the synopsis. The story centers around our heroine, Kitty, who owns a cat training/sitting business who falls in love with a NHL data analyzer who hires her to help with his mom's cat. Their initial interactions were full of hilarious awkwardness and then morphed into a very supportive relationship. But honestly, the chemistry between them just wasn't there for me. Not sure why. I did love the fact that there was no huge misunderstanding that drove them apart for a while like most romances. But there was just something lacking for me. The book also deals with some really heavy issues like loss/grief, aging parents and the pitfalls of social media, so the book wasn't as light- hearted and fun as I was expecting, but I think they were handled well. Just know that this is not what I would categorize as a rom-com. All in all, it was a solid read, just not one of my favorites. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

Thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy!

Kitty is a professional cat sitter and tends to keep to herself. She takes a new job for Miles (a dog person), who asks Kitty to take care of his mom's hairless cat, Prince Francis. Prince Francis can be a total jerk and Kitty makes it her mission to change Miles's opinion about cats. After a lot of time spent together and instant chemistry, they find themselves drawn together.

Kitty and Miles are a sweet couple. They are both very supportive of each other and understanding about their family traumas. Their connection did feel a bit rushed to me but was still ab enjoyable read!

Special Thanks to Forever Publishing and Netgalley for providing me with this Arc, In This Contemporary Enemies to Lovers, (Slow Burn) Romance. Readers meet Kitty Hart, Online influencer/ cat extraordinaire and face behind The Cat Whisperer Pet Care service. Kitty provides companionship training, and support for both kitties and their respective owners. Enter Miles Thorn, a workaholic who is not fond of cats, however, is desperate for Kittys help to tame his furry arch nemesis prince Francis. Moving forward, a series of shenanigans take place.

This is my first Helena Hunting book, and it certainly will not be my last. However, Sensitive themes such as grief, Divorce, and Dementia are addressed in heavy detail throughout making reading difficult at times. I recommend considering these content warnings prior to reading. Overall. This was a great book filled with heart, The love of family and sharp humor. A must read for cat lovers, and those in need of a feel-good story.

Such a fun, cute, hilarious read.

What happens when a dog lover has to meet and set up a cat sitter for his mother's car? Everything goes wrong but the laws of attraction definitely rights the scene. Miles and Kitty trial through this relationship that is forced upon them. They both have suffered loss in the past and it helps them build each other up and their relationship.

This book was very good. It felt pretty insta-lovey which was the only detractor. Overall it was a very fun read.
