This is a good book. The two main characters are Lauren and Mason. They were interns together and dated. When Lauren’s mother passed away she broke up with Mason. Mason left. Several years later they are working together. There is still an attraction. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.
Tempted by the Rebel Surgeon by J.C. Harroway, book one in the Gulf Harbour ER series, is a second chance romance set in Auckland, New Zealand. Lauren and Mason went through medical school together, planning to travel the world after graduation. Except, Lauren got cold feet and stayed back to help her widowed father and raise her younger brother; disappointing Mason. Fast forward ten years, Mason has returned and is temping in Lauren’s ER unit. Told in alternating viewpoints, it is evidenced that Lauren and Mason never forgot each other; nor stopped loving each other. Lauren tries to distant herself, but the physical and emotional attraction is still there. Lauren will need to loosen up and understand that Mason wasn’t the villain, leaving her behind; and remember that he still cared about her. There is definitely strong magnetic attraction, sparks, chemistry, and difficult decisions to be made. I enjoyed and recommend Tempted by the Rebel Surgeon to other readers.
