Damien Cave moved with his family to Australia and encountered many differences in the way children were treated there. He learned more about the way the Australians push their children out of their comfort zones, encouraging them to take thoughtful risks, and adopted some of the Australian ways in his own family. He perceived that after shifting from a more fearful and careful perspective his children were more confident and happy. I think it's always interesting to read about differences in culture, believing that every place has its pros and cons. I'd recommend this book to anyone looking to broaden their ideas of what parenting can look like.
