This author just isn’t for me. I just got bored. If I were younger I might have been into it more but it just not my cup of tea.
I can’t recommend
A wonderful follow-up to a truly addictive series. Elle Kennedy is just so good. She just writes books that suck you in completely.
Elle Kennedy nails it again with "Rogue," the second book in her Prep Series. This time, we dive into the life of Weston "West" Sawyer, a total bad boy with a complicated past, trying to survive the drama-filled world of Sandover Prep.
West is a mix of frustrating and lovable, making you want to cheer for him even when he messes up. His chemistry with Sloane, the fierce and smart heroine, is off the charts. Their relationship is full of ups and downs, making it impossible to put the book down.
The story is fast-paced with plenty of twists to keep you hooked. Kennedy's vivid descriptions make Sandover Prep feel real, and the side characters add a lot of depth to the story.
"Rogue" isn't just a romance; it's about figuring out who you are, redemption, and standing up against societal pressures. Kennedy does a great job tackling themes like identity and loyalty in a way that feels real and relatable.
Overall, "Rogue" is a fantastic follow-up to the first book, leaving you excited for what's next. If you love contemporary romance with a bit of drama, this one's for you.
Kennedy’s books are sheer beauty beginning to end, and this one was simply dazzling! I so loved and enjoyed it.
I love Elle Kennedy and I have enjoyed a lot of her books in the past. This one while it wasn’t my favorite was still really good. I didn’t realize it was the second in the series so I read the other one first and that definitely helped me understand the characters more but I don’t know if I necessarily needed to read it first.
After devouring Misfit, I couldn't wait for this one. The Prep series is for anyone who misses Gossip Girl, loves multiple POV and is into a New England prep school setting.
I love one series by Elle Kennedy so much that the others just aren’t doing it for me. I liked this a lot but it didn’t live up to the off campus series
I have really enjoyed this series! After reading the first book, I was super excited to get a chance to read this one!
The author does a brilliant job portraying the characters emotions. This book has a very good plot and from someone who lives in a place with no private schools I can’t help but be sucked right in!
There is a lot of different points of views in this book however I didn’t find it difficult to follow. You also won’t want to put this book down so that helps!
The author gives you a charming romance and also tackles friendships, family and relationships
I can’t wait to read more from this series!
Elle Kennedy is my new favorite romance author. From the plot to the characters, I did not want to put the book down. I wanted to finish this in one setting because it was so good. Elle Kennedy does a great job of telling a story and giving readers a good time. I loved this one more than the first book.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of Rogue by Elle Kennedy.

Rogue by Elle Kennedy (Prep Book 2)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Pages: 386 / Genre: Romance
This is the second book in the Prep series by Elle Kennedy. I didn’t read the first book (Misfit) which looks like it was all about Sloane. This second book is all about Sloane’s younger sister Casey. I assume the first book ended with the big traumatic event on prom night when Casey almost drowned in a car in a lake before she was rescued by Fenn Bishop. Casey has lost her memory of that night but is plagued with nightmares and she finally finds out that Fenn knows more than he’s saying. And most of the book is about getting to the truth of what happened that night. So I didn’t feel like I needed to read the first one to enjoy this one, especially since I find her sister Sloane super annoying. Maybe I’d like her more if I read that first book though. Anyhoo, I liked Casey and her hot relationship with Fenn. There’s a lot going on in this story and it kept me interested throughout.
This book and most of Elle Kennedy’s books are available for free with #KindleUnlimited.
Thank you, @NetGalley and @Read_Bloom for the advanced copy of this book.
This is the second book in a (so far) two book series (a duet?). I did not read the first book (Misfit) so I am coming into this book blind. At 16% into the book, I feel like the first eight chapters are more summarizing what happened in the previous book (I assume). There is talk about Casey's (the FMC) car accident on Prom night, but we don't actually get to experience it first hand. Do we experience it first hand in Misfit? I find myself having a hard time getting into the story because we don't have any information or realtime account of the accident. Some of the questions that I have are: Is this meant to be a standalone, or do you NEED to read book 1? If it is meant to be an interconnected standalone, I don't think it is hitting the mark. I would have made the car accident scene a prologue or something. Because I didn't experience it, I'm finding it hard to connect with the story and with Casey.
I've read a few other books by Elle Kennedy (The Deal, The Chase, etc.) and really enjoyed those stories and the author's writing, but I'm just not connecting with this story. Maybe I should have read book 1, but if that is the case, then this should be marketed as a duet. It is a pass for me.
DNF. I love Elle Kennedy's adult romances--like the Avalon Bay series and her Off-Campus and Briar U series, but I've decided the Prep series, set at Sandover Prep, just isn't for me. I think if I'd read these books ten or fifteen years ago, I would have loved them. They're dark and twisty and have a similar vibe to Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, or Zodiac Academy (only without the paranormal element), but at almost 37, I think I'm just too old for teenage drama in this particular series. I think they're marketed as New Adult, and the main characters are all juniors and seniors, which to me is on the upper edge of YA and the lower range of New Adult. It's that weird in-between age.
I really appreciate the opportunity to read an ARC of Rogue, and this is definitely the case of "It's me, I'm the problem," rather than the book having problems. If I were 18, or even 22, I think I'd feel a lot differently.
That ending! Holy cow! I’m was not expecting that! I felt like it was a double whammy twist! This story is sooo good. I can’t wait to see where this next book takes us! Excellent storyline, incredible characters, and one hell of a heroine. Love her, love it! Ready for more!
3/5 stars
I have been trying to put into words why “Rogue” wasn’t my favorite Elle Kennedy book. It fell flat for me in plot and with the characters and even the heat felt turned down. Not the worst, definitely not her best.
I like this author, but I wasn't a huge fan of this book. I didn't connect with the characters and found the plot boring.
I heard so many rave reviews about Rogue and it didn’t disappoint. I wish I read Misfit first but the book was still enjoyable. I had a hard time putting it down because the drama sucked me in. I don’t often read YA but this was so good I didn’t mind. This is the first book by Elle Kennedy that I’ve read but it definitely won’t be my last. I’d recommend this to everyone.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for the ARC!
“It's been a long time since Casey Tresscott has felt like her life was her own. After the car accident that nearly cost her everything, she's used to her family's coddling and the relentless whispers at school, no matter how much they sting. After all, she's found a safe harbor in her budding relationship with Sandover's golden boy, Fenn Bishop...or so she thinks.”
I read the first book in this series and liked it, so I was excited to read this one! I knew it’d be spicy and it didn’t disappoint. Love Elle Kennedy.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.
I didn't realize this book was the second one in the Prep series. I unfortunately did not read the first book Misfit in the series. So I was a little lost because after reading reviews The Rogue picked up where Misfit left off.
This is the second book in the new adult Prep series and pick up right where Misfit left off.
I will definately be reading the Misfit and then I will be continue with this one.
From the little I read, I am eager to start from the beginning.
tAddictive series that ends in a cliffhanger. This is mostly Casey and Fenn's story, but plenty still happens with the rest of the characters. More of the mystery behind Casey's accident is revealed, but plenty of things still up in the air as several characters spiral out of control. Lots of drama for high schoolers!
