Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for an eARC of this book! Here are my honest thoughts.

Rogue is the second book of the Prep series by Elle Kennedy, and it picks up right where Misfit left off. Casey Tresscott is still living in her own nightmare trying to figure out what happened to her at prom last year while also trying to grow up and come into her own as a person. Fenn is her boyfriend, and he’s been harboring a big secret from her.
This book had a lot going on - mystery, intrigue, romance, drama, and teenage angst. I really liked where Elle took this story with the second book in the series. Yes, there are a lot of POV’s - 6 to be exact, but I felt like it was more appropriate for this part of the story to get that. I also enjoyed the character growth that all of our MC’s underwent in this story, most of them really seem to be growing up and coming into their own. And then comes the cliffhanger…this one wasn’t as painful as the one at the end of Misfit, for me at least.

I would definitely read this one if you like prep school, forbidden romance, gossip girl vibes, lots of drama and angst as well as that mystery element that was introduced in Misfit. Overall a great read!

Thank you to Net Galley and Get Read PR for providing me a copy of Rogue by Elle Kennedy. Ill start off by saying I enjoyed Misfit a bit better than this one in the Prep Series but I still overall enjoyed the story and is totally binge worthy. My main downfall was all the multiple POVs. I am not a fan of too many because it can be a lot to keep up with and this one had at least 5. If you like High school type drama books filled with trauma, drama and mystery. I still enjoyed all the characters though and got to read more about the others but mostly focuses on Casey and Fenn. Hope everyone else can enjoy this series so far as much as I have.

I want to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks/Bloom Books for providing me with an eARC of this book. This review is my personal opinion.
I really enjoy Elle Kennedy's writing. I especially love how she weaves characters into one story so that she may write their story at a future date. When I read Misfit, I was excited to see her delve a bit into the young adult realm (though these characters really don't seem to embody what I know as young adult). I enjoyed Misfit and it's story. And the many points of view helped me understand the characters.
Of course when I had the chance to request this book to read, I wasn't passing that up.
For the most part, this book was enjoyable but it is not my favorite Elle Kennedy book by far.
My biggest issues with this book is how it seemed to really draw out the story and the fact that there were so many points of view. I feel like Kennedy needed to get this book out in a rush so that impacted the flow of the writing and how the plot unfolded. The multiple points of view in this book at many times made it hard to remember who was talking. It made it difficult to keep things straight about what character knew what and when and how. I do understand this as a continuation of the conundrum at the end of the first book, but I truly feel it could have been dealt with so much more quickly than an entire book.
You definitely cannot read this one without having read the first book or you would be totally lost.
I am truly sad to have given an Elle Kennedy book a rating any less than a 4 but for me it just has to be.
Does this mean I wouldn't read more in this series? No, no it does not. I pretty much will read anything Elle writes. But I was ask for my honest opinion and this is it.

This book takes us back to our favorite messy characters from Misfit, so if you are missing them you are in luck!

Casey and Fenn are the main focus of this book but there are multiple POVs so you get more characters again.

If you loved book 1 you’ll love this book (a little less 🌶️ though). If you love multiple POVs, high school drama, unhealthy forms of coping as they figure out life this book is for you!

Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read and review this book.

Thank you to @bloombooks and author @ellekennedy for the advanced review copy of Rogue, receipt of which did not impact my review. Rogue is out Tuesday 3/7/23!

Sandover Prep is the school of last resort for troubled teen boys. A fighting ring, hackers, drug dealers, and other delinquent behaviors are common activities (even though they aren’t allowed.) In book one, Misfit, headmaster’s daughter, Sloane, fell in love with RJ, hacker with a heart of gold. Book two focuses on Sloane’s sister, Casey, and RJ’s stepbrother/roommate, Fenn. Though they are the main two, there are actually six total POVs in the story - and a great lead-up to what is sure to be an explosive book three! (It sounds confusing, but it’s not, trust me.)

Casey has been through a lot these past few years, and after being mistreated by the school bullies at her private all-girls school one last time, decides to fight back. Her sweet nature starts to be overshadowed by her new attitude and there is definite concern from her family and friends. Will Casey find herself again? Will their parents be as awful as in book one? And will we ever get answers to some of the mysteries from prom night?

It’s less spicy than book one, which I was fine with because of their age. The drama and angst made this absolutely unputdownable!

I was fortunate to be able to finish Misfit and dive right into Rouge. Rouge picks up right where Misfit ended. A bomb was dropped and detective RJ and Sloane are at it trying to figure out the mystery. But the focus of this book was not their romance, but Casey and Fenn’s flames that have been growing throughout both books. But when Casey finds out the truth about Fenn, the truth about that night, she is not sure she can move on from it.

Rouge had the same POV throughout the book, Casey, Fenn, RJ, Sloane, Silas and Lawson. Throughout the whole story it felt like Elle Kennedy was setting us up to learn more about Silas and Lawson in the upcoming books. While I really do love Lawson, Silas is definitely my least favorite character.

This novel ended on yet another cliffhanger. I just hope Elle doesn’t make us wait a year to find out what happens next!! Add this series to your TBR if you love Gossip Girl, Prep School and spice!

Will post on Tuesday!

Rogue by Elle Kennedy
Format: eARC
SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books
Pub. Date: March 7/23
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overview: Casey almost died one night. Stuck in a car, drowning, she is saved by someone who brought her to shore. She is traumatized. Still her classmates take this opportunity to bully and ostracize her. When Casey is betrayed by someone close to her she decides she is not going to take it anymore!

My thought: I am going to start with my concerns. Having not read Misfit, book 1, I did not realize this series was about high school students. So when I started reading I was quite shocked and alarmed given the situations these young people found themselves in. I wondered if this was something I could continue to read. Still I carried on. I decided to reflect on the fact that I had watched Gossip Girl and 90210 with my girls when they were teens. So I decided I needed to get down off my soapbox and settle in to read.

This book is good. The characters Elle Kennedy has developed are complex and intriguing. The plot captures the reader’s interest leading one to stay up late reading to find out what happens next. But it is the characters who got to me. The pain and trauma they have experienced and how each one tries to cope with the aftershocks. The pain that can be inflicted verbally. Even the most depraved of them is a victim who we hope things will work out in the end. I’m hoping this will be explored in book 3, which I will be reading.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for the opportunity to read and review this arc.

Rogue by Elle Kennedy is the second book in the Prep Series and starts right after the first book Misfit left off.

I absolutely loved Misfit and some questions remained open especially regarding Casey and her accident. I liked Casey in the last book and Rogue heavily focused on her and we finally got her perspective. She is a little rebel, but at the same time her strength is her kindness and I loved that so much. She is a very relatable character who experiences love for the first time, and I loved to follow her. You also get some answers regarding her accident and the reveal was quite shocking to me.

Sloane and RJ are even more in love in this book and even Sloane‘s dad accepts him more. They are such a good team, and their chemistry is only intensified in this book, and I just love them together. There were also some amazing scenes for example when RJ was sneaking out the house and Sloane was sneaking in.

Fenn is the problem child in this book. He has made quite some mistakes and must own up to them. And I’m glad that he did. His relationship to his dad also improved and I love how his family is getting a lot closer. Casey is still his love, but he must work extra hard for their relationship.

Lawson is the one who surprised me yet again. He developed a weird friendship with Casey and showed a softer side and I liked to see it. He is such an iconic character and I’m interested to see even more of him.

Silas was really disappointing in this book. He showed his true colors and that made him very unappealing.

The plot of this book is even more intriguing than Misfit and I was glued to every page. This series is just like watching your favorite tv show and you’re so obsessed that you can’t stop. I’m even more obsessed with this book and really hope we get more books in the Prep Series.

Overall, Rogue is just phenomenal, and I’m obsessed with this world. 5 stars.

Reading Rogue was a lot like watching gossip girl. But, at the ripe age of 28, felt much less appropriate 🤣

There’s a little mystery and a LOT of POV’s.

This wasn’t my fave by Elle, but it’s definitely worth reading if Gossip Girl gives you those comforting, nostalgic vibes.

Elle Kennedy!!! I love this series so much. This book keeps you reading to the very last word and then thinking about the next book! I can't wait to read the next book in the series. This book tells the story of a girl finding out who she wants to be despite going through a traumatic event while also finding love. With this book series, I have loved the mystery element and finding out everyone's secrets.

I had mixed emotions about this book but still finished this book within a day if that is any indicator of something lol. This story follows Casey and Fenn from Misfit, and goes deeper into the mystery that was Casey's car accident. It picked up from the security video in Misfit and for a good portion of the book Fenn will piss you off regarding that. I loved Casey in the last book and I now have the fattest crush on Casey. She grew into herself this book and learned to stand up for herself more. I really enjoyed that there were still multiple POVs and learned more about all the characters from the first book.
I think this book was more enjoyable than the last book and definitely think readers should read this book if they enjoyed Misfit.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC.

4.5 Stars!

Ok. Wow. Firstly, I love this series so much — Rogue hasn’t even officially launched yet and I already can’t wait for the next book in the series. The Prep Series follows a group of prep/boarding school students as they struggle through their teenage angst and all the drama that comes with—à la Gossip Girl style.

The second book in The Prep Series, Rogue picks up right where Misfit left off, in the midst of the mystery surrounding Casey’s accident. This book is chock full of drama, and the best part is you get to experience it from the POV of multiple characters—I loved being inside each main character’s head.

The book mainly spotlights Casey and Fenn’s relationship as they slowly progress from friends to lovers and hurdle through plenty of secrets, lies, scandal, and drama along the way. I loved seeing how all the characters changed and evolved throughout the story (the character development in this series is incredible. Chef’s kiss), and I especially enjoyed watching Casey break free from her good girl persona and go “rogue,” coming out a more mature and independent version of herself. If I could describe the vibe of this book in just a phrase; “bad decisions” comes to mind, because every character makes them and we get to be along for the ride, witnessing all the delicious drama unfold.

This is such a bingeable series and you will definitely get hooked on it from the first book, which by the way, ends on a cliffhanger, so if you’re going to dive into The Prep Series, be sure you have Rogue on hand once you finish Misfit. It will be available on 3/7!

P.S. I am in love with Lawson and am praying so hard that his story is next!

Read if you like:
Gossip girl vibes
Friends to lovers
Off-limits/forbidden romance
Good girl x playboy
Prep/boarding school drama
Cliffhanger ending

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via the publisher SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Book and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rogue picks up where Misfit ended. RJ and Sloane discovered who saved her sister, Casey, after her car ran off the bridge and into the river below, a traumatic event she has vague memory of.
This book focuses on Fenn and Casey's friends-to-lovers storyline but, like Misfit, continues with the points of view of most characters from the series, including Rj, Sloane, Fenn, Casey, Lawson and even Silas. Normally I enjoy multiple POVs, but I found it complicated this story. I think if Elle Kennedy concentrated primarily on Fenn and Casey, plus the odd chapter from either RJ or Sloane, it would have been easier to keep up with the story, but the extra characters provided complications and unnecessary tangents in the plot.
It seemed Fenn and Casey's happy period was very short-lived, and the majority was the conflict and trying to resolve it.
I enjoyed the setting and seeing some development between Fenn and RJ, plus their struggling relationships with their parents.
It is difficult to discuss this book without spoiling major plot lines, so I'm trying to remain vague. I definitely preferred Misfit, I think the plot flowed better, although the surplus of POVs complicated it. Rogue carried the plot on. Fenn and Casey definitely relied on each other to get through difficult times, so seeing their relationship develop through the basis of their friendship was great. I think Casey had serious trauma to work through, and seeing that representation was great, but it seems the relationship plot came at the wrong time. I'm excited to see the next book, and what happens to the plot now the original story has concluded.

I’ve read quite a bit of Elle Kennedys work at this point and found it somewhat hit and miss in my enjoyment of each story. This newest Prep series, while definitely not being what I expected has to be one of my favorite of her works.

This absolutely is still a new adult romance, but it’s definitely more on the line of bridging into a teen drama, just a little aged up in content. I personally enjoyed that there’s more of a through line and overarching plot to the whole series as opposed to the more common romance novel interconnected stand-alone stories. The additional mystery element and cliffhangers drives the momentum of the stories and makes me very excited to continue on book to book. It also adds to the depth of our characters to be given all of our protagonist’s POVs in each novel as opposed to making it simply a main male/ female duo POV for each couples story.

I’d d definitely recommend and an very much looking forward to continuing the series

Thank you to the author and to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC early !!

If you are a fan of the Off-campus series but you wish it had more bad boys and angst, well ladies and gentlemen this series is for you. After reading the first book I knew immediately this series would be addicting and I ate up both books in one sitting !! This series centers around an all-boys prep school where the misfits and bad boys are sent, instead of hockey we have hot swimmer guys this time around as well ;) The second book focuses on Casey the second daughter of the prep schools headmaster and our golden boy Fenn.

Overall I would give this novel a 3.5 out of 5 stars, I really enjoyed the story and it had a lot more drama than the first book, but I don't think it was as good as the off-campus series overall. Kennedy is amazing at writing the jock himbo boyfriends we know and love but this time she takes a stab at writing the bad boys who mess around with drugs, alcohol, fighting, and illegal ways of making money such as dealing and hacking. I really do enjoy the change of pace however I did not find the characters as compelling to read about. I did really find the mystery of what happened to Casey really compelling and helped drive this story along. My favorite chapter overall was when Casey hands out with Lawson after she decides to take some charge in her life.
I really did enjoy all the characters as well and I'm not sure which female love interest we would be seeing in the next novels as we do have some potential leads but nothing for certain I really hope when/if we get a book about Silas he gets what's coming for him, right now he is nonredeemable for me.

I will also mention if you are a reader who is looking for a sports-heavy romance this is not the series for you, swimming is mentioned as a part of the boy's extracurricular however it is not heavily focused on or mentioned very often. Soccer is also mentioned along with football.

Please I am begging for the next novel to be about Lawson, by the way, this novel left off I think it's pretty likely it will be and I think it'll be an amazing third book if so !!

Big thank you again to the author and Netgalley for this opportunity I had a blast reading this and can not wait to see what Kenndy cooks up for the third book in the series !

Thank you Netgalley and Elle Kennedy for the arc of Rogue! I have been on an Elle Kennedy kick and binged 7 of her books this past week.

Rogue picks up right after the first book in the Prep series Misfit. This book focus on the relationship between Casey and Fenn but gives multiple POVs throughout the story. This book shows these two’s relationships development while also offering a mystery and twist and turns throughout. It was such a good read and I can’t wait for more of this series to come out.

Rogue is the second book of the Prep series and picks up where Misfit leaves off. This book mainly focuses on Casey and Fenn but we do get bits and pieces of the others from Misfits. I absolutely devoured this book and loved all the drama and angst! I loved that Casey learned to stand up for herself and had a lot of personal growth throughout the story. The mystery and suspense around what happened to Casey is my favorite part of the story. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Fenn and Casey’s relationship and love but I live for the suspense! We get lots of answers in this book but we are left with even more questions after that ending! I can’t wait for more books of this series and learning more about these characters!

Casey hasn't felt her life was her own in a while, After her accident, she's been coddled by her parents and gossiped about in school, but her boyfriend, Fenn, is there for her. Or is he?
I DNF'd this fairly quickly. This was definitely not for me. If you like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, this may be more for you. Too much bitchy prep school drama for my taste, and way too many POVs.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thank you Netgalley and Elle Kennedy for the arc of Rogue! I love Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus series, and was excited to get this arc and start another of her series.

Rogue picks up where Misfit, the first book in the Prep Series, finishes. Although there are many POVs in this book, the main relationship arc is between Casey Tresscott and Fenn Bishop. Casey is still working through the trauma of her car accident that almost left her dead in a lake. Everyone around Casey treats her like a glass doll and essentially babies her to the point where Casey is sick of it. She's sick of the treatment, and decides that in order for her to be seen as strong, she needs to do a 180 flip of who she is. Which may or may not interfere with her budding relationship with Fenn.
Fenn is the Sandover Prep pretty boy and party-boy, but reaches out to Casey after her accident. The two of them become close after the car accident, and he is soon the one person Casey seeks out when she's struggling with her trauma. Fenn is keeping a secret that might explode their entire relationship, but could also shed some much needed light on what exactly happened on the night of Casey's accident.

Rogue continues the mystery arc of what happened to Casey when her car decided to take a dip in the lake with her in it. There were some twists that seemed a bit obvious to me, but the reasoning behind them all were a surprise. And we also get more insight to other characters in the book because of the chapters that were written in their view points, like Silas and Lawson (I think Lawson might be my new favorite character??). The relationship development between Casey and Fenn was fun to read and I think they both had decent character growth throughout the book. I think I enjoyed Misfit a bit better than Rogue, but I'm really enjoying this series and am so sad I'll have to wait so long for the third book to see what happens to all my favs at Sandover Prep.
