I recently have enjoyed the Avalon Bay Series by Elle Kennedy, so I was super excited to see this book on NetGalley. I wanted to explore more from this author and dive more into the YA/NA Romance genre. Unfortunately, this book didn’t do it for me. This book reminds me a lot of Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars, and it was hard for me to get into it. I work at a private school, and this book reminded me way too much of my students. The biggest difference for me with this series was the multiple POVs; there were at least 6 different ones. I’m not sure why, but this kept kicking me out of the story. I’m sure this would fit the need of someone else, but I DNF at 30%.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a YA novel that is second in the series about a bunch of high school drama. If that is intriguing to you then it should check all of the boxes. My biggest critique of this book is that I wasn’t invested in the characters - that’s where it fell flat for me. However, I did not read the first book and that could be the disconnect. We follow this group as they seek to discover what happened that caused Casey’s accident - who was responsible? Why is Fenn (awesome name btw) being so attentive to her lately? Is it because he is guilty of something? Casey herself becomes quite the badass which adds a bit of spunk to the book. This book also sets the framework for book 3 in the epilogue so there will be more adventures forthcoming. Thanks to NetGalley for the early read.

This series was my first introduction to Elle Kennedys books and unfortunately it was not it for me. Now this won't deter me from her other books as I've been meaning to read The Deal for a long time and I have many friends to recommend it, I just hope it is nothing like this series because this book sent me into a three week book slump. I have not read a single book this month becuase of this series. The characters felt so cringey and boring and their personalities were so icky. I don't think it was a good idea to have the main points of view to be from the male characters in this. There were too many points of view, I hated the 'locker room' type talk from them and I felt like the romances became a sub-plot and got lost in the book. I think this series could have worked if it kept it to just a dual pov from the main couple in their own books, like most romance books following a group of friends does. The series just felt like it dragged with so many different povs and I lost any motivation to read it. It is my first dnf which is a big deal becuase i NEVER dnf books, i may come back to this series later but for now its a hard pass.

Rogue is the second installment in Elle Kennedy's Prep series, picking up right where Misfit left off. With alternating perspectives, I was able to intimately connect with the characters and their struggles, even when they make questionable decisions. I was delighted with the way the story concluded, yet Elle Kennedy also managed to set the stage for the next book in the series, leaving me eagerly anticipating its release.

I read both Rogue and Misfit, the first book in the series, last week, via Netgalley. The blurb for this book is "From New York Times bestselling author Elle Kennedy comes the return to Sandover Prep, where secrets lurk in the dark and no one is safe when they come into the light.

It's been a long time since Casey Tresscott has felt like her life was her own. After the car accident that nearly cost her everything, she's used to her family's coddling and the relentless whispers at school, no matter how much they sting. After all, she's found a safe harbor in her budding relationship with Sandover's golden boy, Fenn Bishop...or so she thinks."

The summaries of both these books are misleading. They're masquerading as Young Adult fiction, but they're really New Adult. There's entirely too much graphic sex in these novels to be classified as YA. Indeed, the sexual content seems out-of-sync for books set at boarding school and targeted to teens.

Rogue is marginally better because it contains a plot regarding Casey's accident, but I'm not sure who the Rogue is supposed to be, other than Larson, who may be my favorite character. I also like the relationship between the stepbrothers and how the sisters take care of each other.

However, overall I did not enjoy this book and do not want to read further books in this series.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy.

4+ stars. This was every bit as exciting as book 1 in the series. Rogue picks up right where Misfit left off (so if you didn't read Misfit, I highly suggest that you read it first). Except that the main couple in Rogue is Fenn and Casey. After the cliffhanger that was Misfit, I was DYING for Fenn and Casey's romance. I was also dying to get some answers as to what happened to Casey on prom night. And thank the lord, Ms. Kennedy decided to give us some answer. The key word there being some. There are still so many questions remaining! Rogue was less spicy than Misfit, but I feel like that's because we got fewer POV chapters from Lawson. While Lawson and Silas had really strong supporting roles in the first book, Rogue is most definitely Fenn and Casey's story. I said this in my review of Misfit, but this series features teen kids doing adult things, so if that's not your thing, you probably won't enjoy this series. To me, the Sandover Prep series feels like a nice blend of Kennedy's Paper Princess (written as Erin Watt) series and her Off Campus series. I'm honestly gobbling these books up. Rogue does again end on a minor cliffhanger, and you better believe I can't wait to find out what happens in book 3. All in all, I love this book. I love this series. And I need more Lawson in my life.

Thank you so much to Elle Kennedy, Bloom Books, and Get Red PR for my advanced copy.

The Prep Series is one of my favourite guilty pleasures. It’s full of drama and spice as these prep school students deal with their trauma in unhealthy ways.

Rogue follows Casey and Fenn as they navigate a relationship together despite their friends’ disapproval and the secret Fenn is hiding.

The reason I rated Rogue four stars instead of five is because it doesn’t focus on Casey and Fenn as much as the previous novel focused on RJ and Sloane. However, the reason I rated the novel four stars instead of three is because I enjoyed Lawson and Silas’ chapters.

Casey is the good girl turned bad as she gets sick of being a doormat. I empathize with Casey as she struggled against the box everyone around her put her in and refused to see her as anything different.

Fenn is the typical rich son with daddy issues. There wasn’t anything overly interesting about him other than his secret.

Rogue is not as spicy as its predecessor. To be honest, it’s incredibly tame by comparison.

Overall, Rogue’s strength and weakness is its less central focus on Casey and Fenn. Though I enjoyed the novel as a whole, it felt more like set up for Lawson and Silas’ novels.

I can't wrap my head around this book! Another phenomenal read by Elle Kennedy is coming!
If you thought Misfit was amazing, get ready to be blown away. Rogue is so much more, more intense, more mysteries, more drama and more fun.
It picks up where Misfit ended, with RJ and Sloane finding about an important piece of Casey's accident. We also get to see Casey and Fenn getting closer to each other but it all comes to an abrupt halt when Casey gets to know the truth. Story goes further as Casey does a 180° turn of her personality and many truths are unleashed with more drama and chaos. I obviously can't say much because of spoilers but if you haven't picked up this series you are definitely missing out on some pure entertainment.
I can't wait for the next book and the thing that's keeping me on edge is we don't even know what next book will entail.

Elle Kennedy knows how to build worlds and characters that you just fall in love in. I want to spend every second on her books. I loved this so much.

I’m so obsessed with this series!
Rogue by Elle Kennedy kept me thoroughly entertained and I wanted to do absolutely nothing but read this book. This was defiantly one of those books I wish never ended!
I love being in Sandover Prep. The preppy academic setting is just so much fun! No one does better than Kennedy!
This book is brilliantly written, has multiple pov's, complex characters and a phenomenal layered storyline.
These characters are unique in their own way. And come alive on page.
Elle Kennedy has done it again and I hope she continues to do the damn thing because I absolutely need it.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Thank You Netgalley and Bloom Books for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this eARC.

3 Stars Just like the first book in this series, Misfit, this is a good angsty New Adult novel that I consider to be the new Gossip Girl for Gen Z. Also like Misfit, Rogue is much more New Adult fiction rather than Romance, since there is not as much of the latter as the description would leave you to believe. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good book; it is. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. Rogue picks up right where Misfit leaves off and continues to follow the same characters, with somewhat of a different focus on Casey and Fenn this time around. There’s the added mystery of solving who was at fault for Casey’s accident the previous year at prom. Overall, a good book that very much reminded me of Gossip Girl.

I adored this! I got books 1 and 2 as ARCS and was able to read them back to back. It was a great experience and I am really loving this new series from Kennedy. I am now devastated to have to wait for book 3 but am excited to continue. This is definitely the type of series that you can binge them all pretty quickly!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for this ARC!

I gobbled Misfit up and when I saw I was approved for Rouge I jumped right in!

Rouge picks up right where Misfit left off of solving the prom car crash mystery. There is nothing if not turmoil and chaos and love along the way. Rouge was exactly what I wanted it to be. And I love that we continued to get multiple POV. It gives me gossip girl meets pretty little liars meets real life high school drama.

RJ and SLOANE!!!! I love that we got to see more of their relationship growth throughout this book and especially Sloane's as she continues to let people in while always protecting what is import to her. Sloane's love for Casey is shown so well through this book. Especially in the Silver scene. I am always rooting for R&S!

But CASEY and FENN OMG!!!! They made me melt, then broke my heart and then took me on a chaotic journey of ups and downs. Every chapter by these two had me on the edge of my seat of what is going to happen now. Reading Casey's journey of figuring herself out I felt in my soul. I loved that she leaned into those feelings and truly explored after be cuddled for too long. I am not saying that it didn't hurt me to watch her push Fenn away because let's be real it did! But it was much needed for Casey to get where she needed to be by the end. As for Fenn I am always rooting for him. Reading his struggle with who to protect and who to give up was HARD! That loyalty is strong. Also the scene where Fenn shows up at the window one last time ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! His growth in this book was phenomenal and I need more scenes with him and RJ always. Again always rooting for the bro-ship!!!

Silas boy byeeeeee. Baby Lawson ughhhhh why do you just make me laugh but then hurt me with those inner feelings and monologue. I pray that what is happening to him in the end of the book is what I think it might be. I need more Lawson always!

As for that ending....... all I can say is when is book 3 coming?!?!?! Because like what was that Elle Kennedy!! Talk about a plot twist.

I struggled a bit more with Rogue than I did with Misfit, mostly because I wasn't entirely sure what direction Elle Kennedy wanted the reader to follow. Unlike Misfit, this isn't a romance really, which was kind of a bummer after the build up that Casey and Fenn got in Misfit. I was looking forward to delving into what the two of them like about each other and how they relate but instead, it's mostly the mystery plot line which I'll admit, I did guess the outcome pretty early on.

I'm also not a big fan of love triangles so some developments in this led me to be very skeptical of where things are going. Right now, all of the friends are fractured and Silas has gone full villain. I'm still interested to see where things go but I'm worried about how it is going to all come together, especially after this book. I'll assume the next book will revolve around Lawson or Gabe, though selfishly I hope it's Lawson and maybe Amy... If it is, I'll pull back on my nerves that settled from this book.

Elle Kennedy killed it once again!!! If you read Misfit then you NEED to read Rogue!! There is actually some elements of suspense/mystery too which makes it so much more enjoyable. Throws you a bit off that there's multiple POVs but it was still easy to manage. It's a quick easy read with everything we love about Elle Kennedy writing poured into it.

Rogue picks up about a week after where we left Misfit with Fenn and Casey dating in secret. Casey gets some answers about her crash from last spring, but they mostly just bring about more questions. Casey finds herself frustrated with everyone and decides to finally stick up for herself within her family and against the mean girls at school.

I‘m not really sure what to make of this one… I enjoyed the story and it kept me engaged, but that was mostly to find out what really happened the night of Casey’s crash vs. anything to do with Casey and Fenn’s romance. I feel like their story was more of a subplot than the main focus of the book. The spice was also significantly lower in this book. Which makes sense since Casey is a virgin, but I expected the spice to pick up at some point. If not from Casey and Fenn, from Lawson at least.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I liked the first book in the series quite a bit more. That being said, I’m looking forward to the rest of the series and seeing where the story goes with these boys.

Rogue is the second book in Elle Kennedy’s Prep series and picks up right where Misfit, the first installation, left off. Alternating between multiple POVs, there is a good chance to to know the different characters as well as their motivations. This story is mostly centered around Casey and Fenn's story and what happened to Casey in the events leading up to the first book and why she is guarded now. There is some elements of suspense and drama as the story unfolds and while things do get tied up, there is plenty there for a continuation of the series!

Thank you to NetGalley, Elle Kennedy & Sourcebooks Bloom Books for an arc of Rogue in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced.

Rogue is the 2nd installment of Elle Kennedy’s Prep Series. After reading Misfits & loving it, I was excited to get an advance copy of the next novel in the series.

I am a huge fan of Elle Kennedy with both her adult rom-coms and ya series.

It’s hard to review this book without letting any spoilers for this or Misfits slip so I’m going to keep it pretty vague.

This series reminds me of a cross between Pretty Little Liars & Gossip Girl. LOVED both, so that’s not a bad thing.

There was a lot more mystery and PLL type scenarios going on.

Told in multiple POV, which I’m not a fan of but will deal with it.

In my opinion, I think Rogue was better than Misfits. They were both fabulous, but I liked the suspense/mystery part of Rogue.

Sorry for the super vagueness! It’s for your own good, I promise!

If you’re an Elle Kennedy fan and have already started this series, definitely pick this one up to continue on. If you haven’t read this or any other series by Elle, I highly recommend putting every books she’s written on loan at your library and catching up!!!

4/5 Stars

Rogue is the second book in Elle Kennedy’s Prep series and picks up right where Misfit left off. To avoid any spoilers, I am going to keep this brief. This series is beyond binge worthy and perfect if you love Gossip Girl (seriously there is all the high school drama). Alternating between multiple POVs you feel like you grow with the characters and empathize with them, even when they make the not so great decisions. There was also an added element of suspense as book 2 centered around figuring out what happened to one of the main characters, Casey, during prom night last year. I love how everything was tied up in the end but also how Elle set the stage for book three, which cant come soon enough!

Read if you like:
-Gossip Girl
-New England prep school setting
-High School drama
-Multiple POVs
-Strong character growth

Thank you Sourcebooks Bloom for the ARC. Pub date 3/7/23

Rogue picks up where Misfit ends and also includes the addition of Casey’s POV - this book is basically Casey’s book. If you finished the first book wondering what happened on prom night, how people ended up at the boat house and why everyone seems like they’ve got a secret to hide - then read up!

These books remind me so much of Kennedy’s ‘The Royals’ series (which I hadn’t realised were co-written by her until the end of last year)! You’ve got drama, you’ve got suspense, you’ve got teenage angst, there’s lust and most importantly you’ve got absolute chaos that has you going wtf every five minutes - in the best possibly way.

I’m going to need the third book like yesterday because it is a need not a want to know what’s going to happen next. This series has been laced with catnip and I’m not mad.

Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the ARC.
