Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for and e-galley of this book, all opinions are my own.

I am such a sucker for Rachel Griffins books! I love how nature based her magic is, and how despite writing three standalone novels, they are all completely different and unique in their own way.

Plus, you have to give it up for that cover art too!
"I used to believe that I belonged to the sea.
But I was wrong.
The sea belongs to me."

I loved the magic system in this book, and seeing all the small things witches could do to benefit both their coven and the mainlanders, even if there is a tenuous relationship between the two groups. I felt like the monthly rushes were a weird way to expel magic, but it was all described out and made sense for a people trying to put limits on their abilities.

I also like that the author made the inital love interest so bland and milquetoast, I just knew someone better would come along. The romance did feel a little insta lovey and I missed some of the connection between the two characters, but I was rooting for them the whole way through. Even when {redacted} happened, the two were drawn together and never stopped fighting for one another.

This is a good young adult fantasy, and a good "intro to fantasy" book for anyone looking to start the genre. The magic system is easy to understand, and the author does a good job of explaining different aspects of it. Toward the end of the book I was getting worried that I would have to wait for a sequel, but it all wraps up very nicely and it is a good standalone.

Overall, I am once again in love with the way Griffin weaves nature based magic into a standalone fantasy novel. The atmosphere of this book is just as good as her other two stories, and I was rooting for the characters the whole time. There is no "big bad" in this book, it is more about staying true to the self and finding belonging in a world so big. A wonderful, well rounded novel.

"He comes alive in darkness, so darkness I become."

I loved it so much! Love Griffin's previous two witches books, and this one is no exception.
I love the world building, how enchanting the story telling is, and how each characters have strong personalities. Mortana is a strong lead, and Wolfe is absolutely dreamy. Love Ivy and Landon too. Needless to say I adore the magic system as well!

Lovvvveeeeeee!

Loved this book. The world, the romance, the characters, did I mention the romance???? Rachel Griffin gets better and better with each story she tells. Will be thinking about this angsty romance for a while.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC copy of this book to review. All of these thoughts and comments are my own.

Rachel Griffin just has a way with the “Witch World”. This is the third book I’ve read by her and honestly they just get better and better.

I really love the way she writes. She’s so descriptive and not in the boring and too much wording way. The way she writes and describes her story literally makes you feel like you are right there experiencing it. I could literally close my eyes and visualize everything that’s happening.

I loved the storyline. I loved Tana and Wolfe and their romance. I also just really loved the witchy and gothic vibes of this book. If you can’t tell I just really loved this book. The only thing I would’ve loved more would have been more of Wolfe’s point of view. I found him very interesting and just want to pick his brain and see more from his perspective.

If you liked her other books then I think you’ll really enjoy this one as well. Also if you like witch story telling them I’m sure this will appeal to you too.

4.5 stars rounded to 5!

Tana's always known and accepted her destiny - secure the safety of the Witchery and protect their magic by marrying Landon, the non-magical son of the Mainland's governor. Their arranged marriage has been fated since she can remember. She knows it's her duty, and until recently it's been her honor to serve.

After a midnight encounter with Wolfe, a strange young man she's never met before, Tana's whole life changes. She doesn't know what's true and what's a lie or what intentions are behind the things she's never known. Despite the unknowns, two things are clear (1) she needs to figure out the truth as soon as possible - before she marries Landon, and (2) Wolfe is her key to finding it.

Tana will risk everything - family, friends, the safety of her island home - to uncover the well kept secrets of dark magic. It doesn't seem right that she's committed her life to the Witchery's coven, but she isn't even trusted with the full story.

BRING ME YOUR MIDNIGHT is a magical romance of self-discovery. Like Rachel Griffin's other work, it's set in a world where magic is known to others, but always misunderstood. For those who practice, it's their connection to their magic and the nature around them that gives them the strength to create their own destiny, find themselves and fall in love.

Thank you to NetGalley, Rachel Griffin & Sourcebooks Fire for an arc of Bring Me Your Midnight in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced.

I requested this book at the suggestion of a book friend of mine and am so happy that I did!!! I am the worst at summarizing fantasy books, so I’m quoting the exact synopsis here and will give you my review below.

“Tana Fairchild’s fate has never been in question. Her life has been planned out since the moment she was born: she is to marry the governor’s son, Landon, and secure an unprecedented alliance between the witches of her island home and the mainlanders who see her very existence as a threat.

Tana’s coven has appeased those who fear their power for years by releasing most of their magic into the ocean during the full moon. But when Tana misses the midnight ritual—a fatal mistake—there is no one she can turn to for help…until she meets Wolfe.

Wolfe claims he is from a coven that practices dark magic, making him one of the only people who can help her. But he refuses to let Tana’s power rush into the sea, and instead teaches her his forbidden magic. A magic that makes her feel powerful. Alive.

As the sea grows more violent, her coven loses control of the currents, a danger that could destroy the alliance as well as her island. Tana will have to choose between love and duty, between loyalty to her people and loyalty to her heart. Marrying Landon would secure peace for her coven but losing Wolfe and his wild magic could cost her everything else.”

I LOVE a good atmospheric novel and this one definitely ticked that box. I got so completely lost and immersed in this story. I was so sad when I finished the last page!

Please don’t anyone shame me, but this is my first Rachel Griffin novel and I now see that I have seriously been missing out. Running to snatch up her others NOW!

This story was so beautiful and romantic and charming and magical and atmospheric and so wonderfully written – I’m still not over it. This is one of those novels that you just need to read it for yourself to get the “feelings” that I and others mention. We can tell you about it, but you just won’t get it fully until you read it, so PLEASE grab a copy of this when it releases on August 1st – in fact, pre-order it so it’s at your door on release day!

5/5 Stars – I’d give it more if I could!

I was immediately drawn into this world of magic and secrets. Tana is the daughter of the most prolific magical family on their island and her future is already mapped out for her, for the better of the community and their way of life. People on the mainland fear their magic and and alliance between Tana and the mayor’s son from the mainland will secure a union between the two.

Tana never expected to meet a mysterious boy on her island who begins to tell her of long since banned magic and the coven of old, making her question her entire life and long for what she cannot have. Soon, she must make a choice…

This book did such a great job of taking a familiar coming of age dilemma we have all come across and made it fresh and different. I adored Tana. I loved both the friendship she has with her best friend, Ivy and the beautiful relationship she cannot help from forming with Wolfe. With incredible writing and lush world building, this was a major hit for me!

I absolutely adored the book! It was everything I wanted. I loved the magical aspects and the romance was to die for. The main character was very entertaining and had me at points laughing and at others on the verge of tears. The other characters were also enjoyable and had great chemistry with the main character. I would recommend this book to people that love a good witch romance book.

Bring Me Your Midnight is a book that surprised me in the best possible ways. I loved Rachel Griffin's other books, but I wasn't sure what I would be getting myself into with this book. I was FLOORED by how good this book was and how much I really enjoyed it.

From the romance, to the adventure, to the world building within it; everything was on point and so incredibly written. Rachel has this way with words that hook you in and never let you go. I can't begin to explain the hold this book has on me.

There is romance, angst, and so much more in this book that no one prepares you for! This book was beautiful and I love it more than words could truly describe!

When I tell you I'm obsessed with the way Rachel Griffin writes ethereal witchy girls with nature in their veins and yearning in their hearts, I freaking mean ittttttt.

This is my third read by Rachel Griffin and I'm happy to say her witchy books keep on giving. Each one has different magic vibes (like the magic systems aren't exactly the same) and even time period vibes (each one isn't explicit on which time period its set in) and I'm here for the ambiguity. I like my magic without too many rules. It's freaking magic... I'm suspending my disbelief to believe in it in the book anyway.

Tana was such a sweet character to follow. Her being torn between the truths and family she's always known and the REAL truths and boy she wants to build a future with is so real. I felt for herrrrr.

I did have some storytelling frustrations. I wished we saw more from Wolfe's POV about his life on the island so we could understand why it's such a big deal that he feels drawn to Tana. We're given hints that he's tough and never saw true happiness for himself, but I wanted to see it for myself instead of just being told so. I also felt some pieces moved too quickly. Oh we're over here but now we're immediately going somewhere else even though we just got here and it was kind of a big deal like...too many moving parts. I wanted to sit and simmer in some of the moments more. The last thing was the ending felt too rushed.

Of the three books I've read by Griffin, this is my least favorite. BUT, I'm not saying that as a bad thing. This book brought the sea and forbidden love and so many lovely things her other books didn't give me. I still really liked it.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Short synopsis: To save the Witchery, Tana is to marry the sun off the Governor of the mainland. But when she meets Wolfe, a witch practicing the forbidden dark magic, Tana begins to question her destiny.

My thoughts: I will read anything Rachel Griffin writes. The writing is atmospheric and poetic. The imagery in this one is more dark and brooding, and it got perfectly with the storyline.

I adored Wolfe, so confident in himself and the little he knows of Tana. And really, Landon was not a terrible guy like one would expect an arranged marriage husband to be.

If you haven’t read anything by Griffin before, go grab Wild Is The Witch and Nature of Witches, then preorder this because you’re going to want it for your shelf.

Read if you love:
* Witchy reads
* Forbidden love
* Finding your own destiny
* Best friends
* The sea
* Poetic/atmospheric reads

Thank you so much Sourcebooks Fire for early copy of this amazing book!

🌊 Bring Me Your Midnight by Rachel Griffin 🌊

Yet another novel from Rachel that is just MAGIC. I don’t know how she does it, she’s like a word witch because this entire novel had me spellbound ✨

Here’s what to expect:

🌊 alliance through future arranged marriage between a witch and a mainlander to maintain peace between peoples

This book had me in a chokehold, making me feel like I couldn’t breathe because it was such a beautiful story but also had really painful moments. The character arcs, the romance, the magic, was all just chef’s kiss 🤌💖 Overall I absolutely LOVED it and it comes highly recommended by me ❤️

Thank you, Sourcebooks Fire for the Arc.
I can’t even begin to describe how much I love this book. Rachel gets better with every book she writes, and this one is no different. Bring me your midnights is by far my absolute favorite book that Rachel has written. I just love how Rachel continually brings a fantastical story to life while also, reminding the reader that our earth is so precious, and we need to take care of it. I loved meeting Wolfe, Ivy, and especially Mortana. Such a strong character, who has to battle with the pressure of duty over what your heart wants and what you truly are capable of accomplishing. I want to be friends with Mortana. I want to channel the strength that Mortana has throughout the entire book. I am still sitting here in awe of just how amazing this book was. Again, Rachel makes me want to pack up everything move to the Pacific Northwest live on the coast and just be one with nature. Pre-order this book, buy this book, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you to Sourcebooks and NetGalley for this ARC from one of my favorite authors!

It's incredible how Rachel Griffin's books keep getting better and better. I'm so grateful to be able to watch her growth as a writer with new stories that still show off her signature atmospheric work. Her latest is no exception.

Bring Me Your Midnight follows Tana, who is the daughter of one of the leaders of her island coven so her future has always been mapped out for her: securing an alliance with the powerful mainlanders (non-magical folk). While Tana longs for a different life, her loyalty and sense of duty has always come first. Until she meets Wolfe. Together, they embark on a journey of forbidden magic and forbidden love until Tana begins to question if this potential future is worth fighting for.

The fact that I finished this book in one sitting isn't saying much since I've done this in the past with Griffin's books, but trust me--this is Griffin's best work yet and I'm so excited to see what comes next.

Bring Me Your Midnight comes out August 1!

Rachel is excellent at writing atmospheric witchy tales and this is my favorite so far. I adore her descriptions and the way she ties nature into magic. Something about a beautiful small island setting just makes me feel warm inside.

This is a coming of age story about a young witch named Tana as she starts to question her way of life and what she wants out of it. It has a bit of a forbidden love story, and I don’t know how many times I’ve said this but a dark haired, pale eyed love interest will do it for me every. single. time. I finished this last night and I’m still thinking about Wolfe.

I would have liked a bit more background on “dark magic” and the way the people in Tana’s life treated her was a little infuriating at times, but I loved this nonetheless.

I loved this!!

If you read her other books (The Nature of Witches and Wild is the Witch) and liked them, you'll be pleased with this book! It has the same atmospheric and descriptive writing style that I loved in her other books.

I continue to be amazed at how immersed I feel while reading some of these scenes. Her tie of magic and nature is so seamless and whimsical.

I did get annoyed with the MC and some of her decisions but I take it lightly. It's a YA finding yourself/coming of age so that's to be expected for sure.

I'll definitely be pre-ordering this! Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC!

I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley and read the entire thing in a single day. Rachel Griffin is so skilled at writing soft characters and portraying sensitivity as a strength rather than a weakness. This book has a different tone than her previous two, The Nature of Witches and Wild is the Witch (both of which I also enjoyed). There is a heavy emphasis on the romance, which is a plus for me. I really enjoyed the world of the Witchery and my heart HURT for Tana. There was one particularly infuriating chapter where I started stress-texting my feelings before I could move on.

It is a beautiful story that I think will appeal to many people. As a recovering people-pleaser I connected with Tana's emotions and think people who feel pulled between two parts of themselves will connect with her too. This book comes out later this summer, so put in on your TBR! It was a good one!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s written in a very immersive and atmospheric way. Unfortunately, there were some minor things I didn’t really like about it. For instance, I felt like at times the plot was a little slow moving and focused more on characters than the plot. This is what I would consider a light fantasy read, and I think it’s definitely geared toward YA readers.
