I liked this book but I think it could’ve been a bit shorter!
I’m a sucker for a hockey romance and Nathan is the ultimate golden retriever. If you’re a fan of the golden retriever-black cat relationships, this is a good pick for you.
At times, it felt like the book was trying really hard to be serious and emotional and that was a bit difficult for me to read. Beyond that, I really enjoyed the college boy antics and the goofiness that comes with this stage of life! The spicy scenes were also fun to read!

Loved this book. It is a very light read and great for relaxation. I thought the characters were well developed and each had their own distinct personality. I think the situations that these characters also deal with throughout the novel are pretty serious which allows us to view them as more than just a romantic partner, since every character has something they deal with on a personal level.

The book as a whole gets 4 ⭐️ but Nathan Hawkins as a book boyfriend gets ♾️⭐️!! I loved him and I enjoyed the rest of the book a lot, but I adored Nathan.
So when I saw that this was a Hockey Player and a figure skater, I immediately grabbed it. The Cutting Edge from the 80s is one of my favorite movies and so I had high hopes with this one! And it mostly lived up to it! Anastasia is a figure skater who suddenly finds herself having to share her rink with the Hockey team after a prank gone wrong renders their rink unusable. She immediately butts heads with their captain Nate Hawkins, but that spark of annoyance soon turns to chemistry as things heat up between them.
I loved the premise of the meet ugly between the two main characters and their progression from rivals to lovers was very realistic and the way they treated each other stole my heart. Well mostly Nate, Nate stole my heart. I loved that there was no miscommunication and no third act break up. I love that Nate was just all in and completely present for Stassie, and I loved that Stassie was able to open up and relax a little with Nathan and his teammates. The found family aspect of this book was wonderful.
And Henry, OMG, best side character ever, please give him his own book!

How are you going to call this book a hockey romance when the male lead is BENCHED for the whole book?
This book was entirely too long and quite frankly, the plot was lack luster. Both of our main characters are insufferable and they really shouldn’t have been together from the get go. Zero chemistry, zero hockey, zero fun.

I see why this is such a popular hockey romance book on BookTok, it has all the tropes and interactions that you need. And I did enjoy this one, but I'll admit, it's the weaker entry in the Maple Hills series. Stasie and Nate's relationship was super cute and I enjoyed reading their interactions (especially the spicy ones). I just wish that there was more substance in the building blocks of their relationship, especially since the two didn't know much about each other besides their respective sports and mutual friends. Overall, it's a nice read and a good start to the Maple Hills series. Gives good introductions to the characters you'll meet in the later novels.

Entertaining and spicy with great characters! Loved the way the romance developed between the two characters and the conflict in the story kept me engaged as a reader. Enjoyable read!

Icebreaker by Hannah Grace is a fun romance set in the world of ice sports. The story follows Anastasia "Stassie," a young ice skater who’s having a tough time with her pairs partner, Aaron. On the other side of the rink is Nate, the confident captain of the college hockey team.
When Stassie and Nate are forced to share the same rink, they don’t get along at first. Their constant bickering soon turns into a fiery romance filled with drama and excitement.
The book offers a mix of sports, romance, and plenty of spicy moments. If you like stories with a lot of tension and chemistry, Icebreaker is a great pick.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the opportunity to read Icebreaker!

Icebreaker by Hannah Grace is a perfect fit for readers who adore lighthearted, emotional, and humorous romance stories that combine the thrill of competitive sports with the swoon-worthy charm of enemies-to-lovers tropes, particularly those who enjoy hockey and figure skating as a backdrop for their romance.

I wanted something dumb and fun and I didn't quite have fun with this one. It reads like fanfiction - over long, plotless, just no thoughts. It was a slog to get through and I groaned out loud many times in embarrassment.

Better than I expected, though I still don't fully understand why hockey romances seem to be such a thing right now.

I really enjoyed this rom-com! The characters' chemistry and backstories were compelling. I also loved the backdrop of the ice rink and their sports rivalry.

I really liked icebreaker. It was a new author for me, but everybody was raving about her. My only gripe is the tiny print as it was difficult to read, and I probably would’ve chopped off about 50 pages but all in all of four out of five Read .

Don’t let the cover fool you on this book, Icebreaker is sppppiiccccyyyy! This book is perfect for readers who want a cute contemporary romance with A LOT of spice in it. I know this book is a great choice for so many readers and I will definitely be recommending to many people. Unfortunately for me, this was just not my type of book and that is absolutely okay! As I said before, many people will love this book and is a easy read for them!

Very disappointed in this title. I was looking forward to it so much, there's not enough sports fiction in the world and even less hockey, but this book was just so poorly written.

I am usually not into new adult but this book was so, so sweet. I loved both Stassi and Nate as well as the rest of the hockey team.

I enjoyed this for a personal read but would not recommend for school. There is a lot of sex. The relationship development is sweet while frustrating.

This story was wonderful! Light hearted but also pulled on your heart strings. Very smutty as a warning if that is something that you don’t like but it was very well done!

There is a reason this book is so popular!! Super smutty, drama, and lovable character!! Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read in exchange for the review!

I wholly admit to being a sucker for plots just like this one; coupled with the fact that I also thoroughly enjoy having a frivolous rom-com waiting in the wings at all times to break up my tendencies towards more intense and serious (for lack of a better word) genres, and a recent storm of really aggravating days at work, this was a great time to pick up this book. Overall, it was a decent read, with likable characters (although, frankly, I loved the supporting characters more than the main pair, and would have loved to see more of them in place of some of the spicy scenes), but as tends to be my issue with spicy rom-coms, sometimes the spice felt unnecessary, and the dirty-talk just sounded silly. I can't really fault the book for that, though, because I knew what I was likely getting into when I picked it up. Hannah Grace has taken two popular tropes - frenemies-to-lovers and hockey/figure skater romance - and blended them into a mostly fun, breezy read that also manages to make some important points regarding mental health, family dynamics, and interpersonal communication in between the spice and sass.

Great book!! It is a great start for people to get into hockey romance and enjoy a little humour. I would highly recommend
