What do I love more than a wife guy? A wife guy whose entire hockey team is basically the backup wife guy. There was no real jealousy between them (WHICH IS AMAZING) and only a lot of support and love for the couple and their relationship. Absolutely loved it, and the cover is adorable.

What a fun read!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I enjoyed it a lot more then I thought I would! I really enjoyed the layout and flow of this book. Author did a great job telling this story.

If you enjoy authors like Tessa Bailey and Elle Kennedy, definitely check out this book!

This one started off a little clunky for me, but pulled through in the end. I really hope Henry is the next story- he’s my fave.

Loved. The perfect sports romance that combined not only the best level of spice and relationship-building, but also real issue that faced the characters.

Such a fun read! I definitely think there need to be more books that take place during college, and I loved seeing a strong protagonist.

Icebreaker was an adorable hockey romance. I really loved that both characters were ice skaters and felt that it handled difficult topics like nutrition and emotional abuse well. The author was able to incorporate real life challenges and still keep it a fun romance. I can’t wait to read what else she comes up with in this series!

Is there a plot to "Icebreaker?" No, but I am here for it regardless.
Nate is the captain of the hockey team and Anastasia is a figure skater. Their paths rarely cross at their California college until an issue with one of the ice rinks forces the two teams to share. The pair soon find themselves forced to work together.
The premise sounds simple, but it's so much more than that. I didn't expect a lot from this book going into it, especially considering its BookTok fame. It was actually a bit of a rocky start for me. It took me quite some time to really get into it. That all changed once I hit the 30% mark. "Icebreaker" has that kind of ambling plotline that really allows the reader to grow and develop with Nate and Stassie. It's cute, swoon-worthy, spicy and truly the epitome of a comfort read.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley and Atria for sharing this advance copy with me in exchange for my honest review.

The book follows Anastasia and Nate, who both attend the Maple Hills campus in California.
Anastasia is a figure skater who is determined to go on to a competitive skating team and hopefully win the Olympics one day. She does not have time for stupidity (of the hockey team) or a relationship. But all of that changes when Anastasia, and all figure skaters, are forced to share their rink with the hockey team.
Anastasia is adamant that she can't stand Nate, but when he is the only one who can help her practice, she has no choice but to skate onwards. As her life becomes more toxic, she starts to rely on Nate and his hockey family more and more. But that totally doesn't mean that she's falling for him. She won't let her break her icy exterior... or her heart..right?

Adored this book and have read it at least 3 times now! I feel like this is the perfect gateway book into hockey romances!

I totally understand the hype around this book. I couldn’t put it down and I constantly wanted more of Anastasia and Nathan’s infectious relationship! Hannah Grace understood the assignment!

Anastasia is a junior at UCMH, and her life revolves around skating. She and her partner, Aaron, are preparing to qualify for Nationals later that year. Aaron can be a bit overbearing and moody but that all blows up when Stassie falls into a situationship with captain of the hockey team, Nathan Hawkins.
Nate is everything Stassie claims to hate, and everything she says she doesn’t want yet their connection is undeniable and eventually they give in to what must be. And let me say, THANK GOD that they do. This book had me swooning page after page and I couldn’t get enough of it.

I cannot wait for Wildfire and the rest of the UCMH series!

Oh. My. Goodness.
I LOVED this so much. I was hesitant to try it even though there was so much hype, but let me tell you what, it lives up that hype! This was so so much fun! It was very spicy (for me, at least) but in a good way lol. The characters were all so likeable that you couldn’t help fall in love with the story. A rowdy team of hockey players that you end up for rooting for and falling in love with is the perfect example of fantastic character development. I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out. I need more of them or different members of the team.. I can see it all and I can not wait.

This was a great new adult novel with just the right amount of spice for the genre. The characters are very entertaining and Grace really sets up their development for other books. I'm really looking forward to more from this series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

This was Hannah Grace’s debut novel and man did she nail it! Nate and Stassie were just so hot (although the name Stassie really just made me cringe alot…but anyway.)

The storylines, the character interactions, the friendships, the realizations, the topics, the diversity…perfection.

I loved watching Anastasia and Nate develop their relationship and realize they were perfect for each other. Nate did everything right. He really supported Anastasia, pushed her, encouraged her, and was patient with her.I wanted to slap Stassie for not seeing Nate for who he really was but that girl finally got around to it and boy is she not regretful!

These two were a perfect introduction into the world that is Maple Hills University. I cannot wait for more from this author and these characters!!

This book just made me happy!

Note: This has a sequel due to be released in October that is 😍.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this title for review.

I have heard everything from this book is horrible to this book is amazing and honestly? I loved it. I thought this book was great and the steamy scenes were STEAMY. 10/10 for me.

While I did overall enjoy this book, the setting and age of characters left some questions and concerns. I'm not one to enjoy promoting overly sexual relationships among teens. Despite them being college students, I felt like it was overly adult and they were not believable for their ages. It was also confusing that the whole eating monitoring situation was never fully addressed or explained, and that was a huge missed opportunity.

"Icebreaker" is a highly popular romance/romcom featuring a cast of collegiate hockeyplayers, a figure skater, and some friends. Our heroine wanders into a party and meets the Hot Guy, who is smitten with her. The chase kicks off, and it's pretty much what you would expect.

I'm sure for some people this book is great. Based on what I see on Booktok, it is very popular. But I'm not really feeling the same impact here. I didn't find the characters to be either interesting or likeable, I found the dialogue to be cliche at times, and the overall plot made little sense to me. As a romance, I didn't buy the main couple (or care terribly about them.) And as someone who likes figure skating, I was more than a bit salty over the limited role of skating in this book.

So, "Icebreaker" crashed to the ice for me. I can definitely see this book being the kick-off of a series, though, so if you end up liking it, it's quite possible there will be more on the way. (Just not for me!)

With gratitude to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read an ARC of this book.

I'm late to the game on this and I feel like everything I have to say has already been said. This book was amazing. As an actual hockey fan and someone who spent a considerable amount of time around figure skaters, the banter is just perfect. Hannah Grace writes with humor tied into something both serious and sultry. Anastasia as a character was so fun and I couldn't help but sit in the background cheering on her ups and booing her downs. Her character could have easily been a stereotype or cliche, but Grace walked the line of having her be "too much" and falling on the side of unlikable. Nathan on the other hand is the golden retriever stereotype we all want the big, tough men to be. Loyal to a fault and protective of not just the love interest, but all the people in his atmosphere. These 2 together were the balm I needed after reading a few too many subpar insta love books. I can't wait to see what else Grace releases and I have no doubt the next Maple Hills title will be just as cozy in the smuttiest way.

This was super cute frenemies to lovers story that was about 100 pages too long. Stassie is a hyper-focused pairs figure skater who has no interested in Nate and his hockey team friends. When an unfortunate incident happens to one of the university’s ice rinks, Stassie and Nate are forced to interact more and things start to evolve. This book had lots of good spicy moments and I really liked the characters but the last hundred pages just felt like I was listening to the characters in a reality-tv confessional. It went on too long with too much happening.
