Framing the Marshal is a well written romantic suspense. An edge of your seat plot that kept me glued to the action. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
Another great love inspired suspense novel by Sharee Stover! While a bit predictable, the plot line was still thoroughly enjoyable as we follow US Marshal Riker Kastell and his K-9 Ammo as he's attacked in his home upon his return from vacation. When he awakens in his living room with a dead body in the house as well, he finds himself set-up for the murder. When former flame Eliana Daines's new DNA phenotyping program confirms him as a match, he has to work to prove himself innocent. This book had a lot of great things going for it with great relatable characters, a believable love story as the characters had history together, and edge of your seat action/suspense as the bad guys seemed to stay ahead of Riker and Eliana no matter what measures they took to get a lead. This one got 4 stars instead of 5 from me to due to some predictability and Riker's worries about being framed once it was established who the bad guy was, but this was a thoroughly enjoyable read in spite of those items. Special thanks to the author and publisher for an advance copy of this novel. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.
This action-packed book in the first in Stover's Heartland Fugitive Task Force series. If you enjoy shows such as CSI and Criminal Minds, this would be a good book to check out. Well-developed and realistic characters will be easy for readers to connect with, and their ability to keep the faith during adversity is encouraging. Eliana is strong and determined--a perfect combination for a heroine. And Riker is a great match for her. The reader is engaged from the start! Forgiveness is a key theme. While there are a couple predictable plot points, it doesn't take away from the overall enjoyment of the story. There's a bit of something for everyone: intrigue, drama, inspiration, and a bit of romance.
“Framing the Marshal” is book 1 of Sharee Stover’s Heartland Fugitive Task Force. If you’re a fan of forensics and technology, this book is a must-read.
Being framed for murder, US Marshal Riker Kastell and Eliana Daines go on the run. They need to stay alive long enough to find out why Eliana’s DNA technology shows Riker as the killer.
Ms. Stover creates a cast of characters that look out for one another while leaning on their faith in times of adversity. She sets up upcoming books in the series, while giving the reader a thrilling story with “Framing the Marshal”.
This is the second book of the author’s I’ve read and it definitely won’t be the last.
WOW! What an action packed read! Eliana and Riker's story is full of action, suspense and romance. Once you start reading this book you can't put it down. I loved reading this book.
I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This story is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering if Riker, US Marshal will be found guilty or exonerated. Framed for murder, will the DNA phenotyping program prove he really perpetrated the crime or will it point to a doppelgänger? The added tension of an ex-girlfriend who apparently also is in the sights of a killer will keep you guessing.
Plenty of action, danger and intrigue definitely will keep your attention as it appears no place is safe for those being hunted. This early copy was received through Love Inspired Suspense and Harlequin. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.
I love suspense and this one was an action-packed ride. Sharee Stover has written a wonderful story with believable characters and a very intriguing plot. I enjoy the DNA aspect of the story very much. And the plot twist in that regard was great. Very interesting. Not to mention the best cover! Well done!!
My thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of this book. The opinion here is my own.
