Quality Police procedural with superb characterisation throughout clever descriptive intelligent murder mystery with plenty of surprises and twists along the way. Just when I thought I knew whodunit and why, BAM twist wrong again. Would the crimes come together or more than one culprit read this excellent book and find out. I am already looking forward to book two.

No Safe Place by Robin Mahle. #NoSafePlace #NetGalley
First time I have read a novel by Robin Mahle but was pleased I did as it was very good, and kept me enthralled until the final pages. Detective Rebecca Ellis and her new partner Detective Euan McCallister investigate the death of a woman volunteer at her local church in a blazing car. The reader is kept guessing until the final pages of the murderer and I would definitely read any further books by this author and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery murder.
Clear cut easy to read mystery novel. Starts off with a bang of action with the car fire. Then Ellis takes us down a winding path of misdeeds happening at their local church. I liked that the book explained their thoughts and showed us the evidence as they solved the crime. My one slight disappointment was that you can tell the author plans on starting a series, so lots of time was spent developing character/worlds outside of the pd/mystery solving areas.
Loved this book! it had me guessing who done it!! hoping to read more by this author and hoping this is the start to a series
"No Safe Place" is a gripping crime fiction novel by Robin Mahle, featuring the talented and determined Detective Rebecca Ellis. The book opens with the introduction of Detective Ellis and her struggle to break free from the shadow of her legendary father, Hank Ellis. As she begins her new case with the Bangor Police Department, working alongside Detective Euan McCallister, the reader is drawn into the investigation of a seemingly straightforward fire case in a church parking lot.
However, as the investigation progresses, it becomes apparent that the death of volunteer Claire Allen was not an accident but rather a carefully planned murder. The author does a fantastic job of building suspense and tension as Detective Ellis uncovers the horrifying secrets behind Claire's death and the race to catch the killer takes the investigation into dangerous territory.
The plot is well-crafted and the writing style is both engaging and descriptive, effectively immersing the reader in the world of the investigation. The characters are well-developed, with Detective Ellis being the standout, as she is a strong, determined and relatable protagonist. The relationship between her and Detective McCallister is also well-executed, with the author exploring their different backgrounds and approaches to the investigation in a natural and insightful way.
In conclusion, "No Safe Place" is a must-read for fans of crime fiction. With its captivating plot, well-developed characters, and page-turning suspense, this book is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for this copy.

There's an explosive fire in a church parking lot it all looks straightforward at first. Claire Allen, who was a volunteer at the church, is burn't to death in her car. Soon, Rebecca will learn that in the search for this particular killer, there is no safe place.
Is Rebecca safe?
This book was So good and I highly recommend this book.
Grab a cup of tea, a blanket and find a place to snuggle down for a read! This book will keep you up until you finish it - and that ending?!!! Who would have expected that?? Robin Mahle has written book that will be re-read again.
This has everything I want in a mystery - strong, smart female lead. Not much violence where I can’t keep reading. A partner with secrets of his own and a bit of an attraction. Just enough suspense to keep me reading in the wee hours. And it’s number one in a new series! That’s exciting! I will definitely watch this author
Many thanx to NetGalley, the author and publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.
Have not read any books by this author but will definitely be looking out for the next one! This book was such an easy but page turning read, so many twists and turns! Just when you thought you knew who had committed the crimes you were thrown in the other direction!!
Loved this book and recommend to most readers, even those who don't normally read crime thrillers!
The first in a series. A mysterious church fire and a death make thia thriller compulsively readable. Guaranteed to keep you guessing and im already wanting more from this author.
No Safe Place is the first book in the Detective Rebecca Ellis series and I am really looking forward to reading the next one. Rebecca (Becca) Ellis is a respected detective in the Bangor Police Department, following in her retired father Hanks footsteps. After an investigation is launched into a car fire at a church, Ellis is partnered with new-to-the-department Decective Euan McCallister. When the investigation turns from accident to possible murder, the detectives must tie the pieces of the puzzle to a further investigation that unfolds and work out how the two seemingly different cases are linked together. I really liked both Becca and Euans characters and hope the two detectives work together as partners in the rest of the series and look forward to discovering more about both characters back stories and hope for a possible romance between the pair.
This is a seemingly motiveless crime. Claire is happily married, a pillar of the Church, no one has a bad word to say about her so why was she subjected to a horrendous and terrifying murder? I enjoyed this very much, I particularly liked the team of detectives charged with finding Claire's murderer. There were little hints about the pasts of each one which makes me look forward with anticipation to learning their secrets. We found out a bit about Rebecca in this story which has left me wanting more. The story is exciting, each piece of information uncovered seems to lead to even more questions and the identity of the killer left me staggered. I can't wait for the next book but I will be using the time productively by checking out the author's back catalogue.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.
Detective Ellis knows something is not right when she is called to a car on fire in a church parking lot. The fire is no accident and along with her new partner, Ellis must solve this case. This book is a great police procedural story. I enjoyed the characters and all the surprises in this story. I would definitely read more books by this author and more books about Detective Ellis. I’m interested to see where her story goes.
I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. When I first received this ebook, I was worried it was going to be like any other detective murder novel. I was wrong. The storyline was thrilling, the characters were well written, and the ending had me surprised and satisfied. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading mystery thriller novels.
