Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC. Lord Canterbury is murdered the night of his engagement announcement but everyone looks guilty! Once again Cressida needs to use her smarts and wit to solve another crime with not much help from Scotland Yard. This is the cutest, cosy mystery series! #DeathByACornishCove #CressidaFawcett #FlissChester #Feb2023 #BookOuture
Fliss Chester provides another intriguing mystery, with a dash of romance. This time, both Cressida and Dotty are on the case. Cressida's former beau drops dead in front of a roomful of party attendees. There ends up being a slew of suspects, and a second death occurs. Cressida, with the help of DCI Andrews and his associate Kirby, flush out the killer, and other criminals as well. Yes, other criminals...because murder isn't the only crime happening in this 2nd installment.
There are multiple threads to follow, and at some moments it gets a wee bit confusing. If you're like me, you may not figure out the killer who until the end. And when it's revealed, it's a surprise...but not a surprise. Regardless, it's an enjoyable read for all historical mystery readers. Definitely a winner.
A very well written and cosy mystery story set in beautiful Cornwall. A romp of a whodunnit, a joy to read. I'm going to download the first one to get more of an introduction to the characters but really enjoyed this as a stand-alone story.

Well done exploration of the time and life of the wealthy and once wealthy in 1920s England. Good fun despite the murders, and my favorite character is Ruby, the pug. The publisher's blurb is pretty good, so there is no need to recap. I really enjoyed this one, too!
I requested and received an EARC from Bookouture via NetGalley. Thank you!
A seaside party at a Cornish mansion with plenty of fizz, what could be more perfect? But something fishy is afoot… a killer lurks among the guests, and only Cressida Fawcett can stop them. A perfectly paced and beautifully observed story... I really did race through Well written, with a plot and characters that haunt you long after you've finished.
An excellent follow up read to the first instalment, but could easily be read as a standalone. Lots of characters to suspect and very tricky to work out whodunnit.
Our lovely Cressida is intrigued as ever, and keen to solve this mysterious crime.
Entertaining, lots of twists and turns and some surprises along the way.
