So good! It was a pretty epic finale for the Bayview kids. I honestly didn’t see the twist of Eve being Chelsea and Jake actually being her half-sister. Wild twist for me. Don’t miss out on this winner. While this isn't something I will teach as a whole class novel, just because it is the third in a series it is something I will be adding to my classroom shelves immediately for next school year. All of Karen McManus books have been incredibly popular with my students and I don't doubt this one will be as well.

Thanks to NetGalley, Karen M. McManus, and publisher for the ARC!
I've loved all of her books, and One of Us is Back is no exception. This book was very well written, engaging, and kept me guessing until the end. I only wish I had reread the previous One of Us books again before reading, there has been so much time between the last one and this one I forgot some key things. I definitely recommend!

A new game has started in Bayview and practice makes perfect. The who Bayview crew is back in town for the summer when a billboard changes to something mysterious and one of the crew goes missing after a party. Too add on top of that, someone comes back to Bayview to stir things up.
Chalked full of thrill and mystery, One of Us is Back brings back the characters we've grown attached to for another thrilling story.

AHHH! We're back in Bayview and this book did not disappoint. It has been a minute since I read One of Us is Lying and typically I reread the series before I read the newest one but I did not have time for all that. And honestly, I didn't need to. Karen McManus has this way of writing where you are immediately sucked back into the world she has created like you never left.
One of Us is Back follows the Bayview crew through yet another mystery where someone is out for revenge. The mystery isn't my favorite compared to the other two but this book gives so much more in terms of the friendships & relationships. You get a deeper dive into each of their lives, which I loved.
This one is a quick read. I had a hard time putting it down. The end of an era for the Bayview crew has me a little sad that it is all over. The way Karen brought these characters to life -- the relatability, despite all the awfulness that goes down in Bayview. You can't help but root for some and wish revenge on others. 5 stars!!
Definitely adding this to our teen/ya reads list!
Thank you to Netgalley & Random House Children's for this e-book arc!!

This is a classic McManus book with multiple POVs, convincing red herrings, and plenty of love interests thrown in.
It was fun to see where the original Bayview four ended up, and how the surprise ending of OOUIN has been affecting Phoebe. I was surprised to see the parents of our POV characters (and their villains’ parents) have so much development.
In the first third of the book, the only piece of the mystery we know is it appears someone has hacked into a local billboard with a mysterious message. But then when one (or more?) of our Bayview Crew go missing, things really pick up in the second half.

We all have such great expectations with McManus books now, after countless hit after hit. One of Us Is Back definitely kept my attention, but I hate when authors retcon the previous canon to fit the new narrative of the story. Because there are so many shifting characters in this series now, it makes keeping track of who is who (especially after reading the last one so long ago) a bit of a nightmare. I can't help but feel this book would have been better if written from one or two perspectives only.

This was a great conclusion to the series. It was great to see all of these characters again. I did have a little trouble keeping all the storylines straight, but I loved how everything was woven together. McManus is such a great author and I cannot wait until here next book.

I really enjoyed this book. I have been a huge fan of this series since I read the first book in high school. When I saw that a third book was coming out in this series I knew I needed to request it. I have read almost all of Karen's books with the exception of two that I haven't gotten my hands on yet. I have been obsessed with her books since reading One of Us Is Lying.
I thought it was a very good continuation of this story and the character's growth. The mystery drew me in so fast and I could not get enough of it. I was surprised by the ending, which doesn't usually happen to me; I am usually pretty good at guessing endings. There was a lot of good character development and they really all felt like completely different people. I was glad that all of them got their happy endings by the end. I would definitely recommend this series and this book specifically to all of my friends and fellow book lovers.

I’m completely obsessed with karen mcmanus and everything single thing she writes!!! especially when it relates to the bayview crew and their crazy antics of getting roped into murder mysteries
and I love how they actually commented on how bizarre it was that bayview was the site of so many murders and why the heck are they all still here 🤣🤪 I remember watching shows like pretty little liars and being like “why the heck are they still living there”
the bayview crew are back at it - and solving yet another cyber revenge crime. and surprisingly, the plot twists, mysteries, and same ol tropes never got old!! I loved every single chapter and POV 🥹
the ties to the first two novels were so well done too I was heavily impressed on how KMC wrapped it all together
and can we talk about my OTP browyn and nate? your honor I love them
thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review! this one’s out this summer!

I read the other books in this series and absolutely loved them. I wasn't sure if this one would be able to live up to the same standard. However, the book took so many twists and turns that I did not expect. I love being in the minds of the characters and figuring the mystery out with them. I think it adds to the suspense and gets people thinking. I had to keep reading because I had to know who it was and how this all ended. I am never not amazed in the end. I love that the series is not just about a mystery, but also about people growing up, falling in love, and learning to navigate life. The stories within the story make the series that much better and this one is no different.

One of Us is Back is the perfect ending to the One of Us is Lying series. It brings the characters from books one and two together and leaves the reader with a satisfying conclusion for each of the major players. The twists and turns along the way keep the reader wanting to turn the page to find out what is going to happen next. Perhaps the bumbling cops and smarter-than-the-adults teenagers are character tropes, but they are done well in this fun, young adult series.

I love this series so much! It had been awhile since I read the previous books but Karen M. McManus have just the right background information throughout the story that I picked up right where the other books left off. This book is a great continuation of the characters and their world.

Karen McManus is a GOD when it comes to YA thriller. I have been obsessed with her books and when I saw her new one One of Us is Back coming out soon, I knew I had to read it immediately. One of Us is Back, the third book in the One of Us is Lying Series.
When talking about this book, I don’t want to give too much away, especially if others have not read the first two books. It's based on the same Bayview crew where terrible things happen to these teenagers. I'm talking murder, kidnapping, bombs etc. This third book follow the same theme where the “crew” is under attack and must solve the mystery of why they are yet again, the focus of someone's attack.
Since this is the third book in the series, YOU MUST read the other two books first. Even though I have read (and loved) the other two books in the series, I wish I had reread it before picking up the third book because I was a little lost at times. The author does a great job of trying to recap the other two books into this book, but you will be lost if you don't read the first two. Unfortunately, there were so many characters to keep up with I was lost with that too. There was a table of contents at the beginning that was helpful, but I still had trouble keeping up. If I had trouble keeping up, then I am sure teenagers will also struggle with the amount of characters. Unfortunately, I did not feel like this book compared or kept up with the previous two. I just was not invested or hooked like I usually am with a Karen McManus novel. This will be a three out of five stars for me.

Whew. What an end to the Bayview Crew, huh? While it had been a little while since I had read OOUIL and OOUIN, I found myself quickly remembering characters and backstories (and McManus did a wonderful job at going back and giving pertinent information!). I was quickly drawn into the world of another game, of a hijacked billboard and someone going missing. How could I not?!
At first I thought there were too many characters that I would need to keep track of (which thanks for the "contact list" page at the front of the book. That helped a lot!). However, we quickly focused on a select few as our main protagonists with everyone else settling in as important, albeit secondary, characters. Nate and Bronwyn continue to be my favorite two.
Simon, the one who started this whole mess, plays a very large role--even from the grave. The few chapters that went back in time, even to a place before "One of Us Is Lying" were CRITICAL in advancing the plot for "One of Us Is Back" (and I think filled in some gaps from previous stories.) Jake, oh Jake, you are still a jerk as ever.
<spoiler> finding out that Simon held ultimate blackmail over Jake was not something I expected. You could argue that the mystery of this book was for a really dumb reason and unnecessary, and perhaps it was. But I get wanting to revenge a loved one wronged. I also get things going horribly off the plan. You make your own determination on the game that was played. <\spoiler>

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an E-Arc copy of this novel. The young adults will eat up this sequel.

Karen McManus does it again! I love these books! I will admit, it took me a minute to orient myself within the world again, and remember which characters fit with which previous book. Once I got past that though, this was so good! I loved all the twists and turns, and the way this really tied all the characters together across the full story arc.

McManus delivers yet again. I love that even though this is the third book in the series, it's just as thrilling as when it all began!

Yes! The Bayview crew is back! This 3rd installment wraps up the drama of the first two novels quite well. Having read those books some time ago, I was grateful of the subtle reminders of how the "crew" came to create their "Murder Club" where they discuss together the new drama unfolding in town, namely, Jake's release due to Juror X. In addition, the crew includes the characters from both previous books. It was creative and seamless even with all the moving parts --that is what I love about McManus, the twisty connections that she creates. With flashbacks from 6 years prior, it provides more insight involving Simon and Jake. The other POVS included, Phoebe, from book 2, who is all consumed with her little brother's role in book 2; Addy, former girlfriend of Jake who he nearly killed and Nate, living with a house of roommates, bartending, and still head over heels with Bronwyn. Jake's release coincides with a few disappearances..is this Jake getting revenge?? Many clues, many directions., one great conclusion. LOVED IT!

Having read the previous works in the series, I was excited to read "One of Us Is Back". As with the first two books in the series, I was sucked right back into Bayview with all it's charm and mystery. McManus does an excellent job of maintaining the distinctions between so many characters - both the younger and older generations of the "Bayview Crew", while seamlessly blending the story together so that everything ties in with the original mystery in the first novel.
Thanks to NetGalley and Delacorte Press for the ARC of Karen McManus' latest title!

The Bayview crew-slash-Murder Club is back,. Simon was right about one thing: secrets always come out in the end. And while some mysteries have been solved, more are about to come to light with deadly consequences. Everyone in Bayview is a target and the town has a lot it's still hiding. A thrilling conclusion to the One of Us is Lying trilogy, you won't want to stop reading until the last page.
