You can't expect that every story in an anthology is a five star story. This has a few gold climps but also a lot of coal. Thank you to Netgalley, publisher and author for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Really solid collection of short stories. As always with collections like these, some of them just don't connect with me- which is absolutely okay! The majority, though, did, and I found myself really enjoying them. Not as heavy a sense of dread as I expected, though.

I love anthologies. I believe that most readers would love them if they read a few. I keep an anthology qued up on one of my kindles so I have something to read when I'm short of time or looking for a new author. I also find many stories written by some of my favorite authors who are stretching their talents in a different genre. I had not read any stories by this set of authors so I've been reviewing their back libraries as I read this impressive set of short stories. A less than full size story is a true test of an author's skills. They must quickly build the plot and capture the reader's attention, then just as quickly, tell the "rest of the story" while never leaving the readers feel cheated. Each story in this book was written so well, they could have stood on their own. Placing them into one collection means I now have alot more books on my TBR list. Read for yourself and you'll soon be a fan of anthologies too.

A wonderful scary book with short stories to horrify you. I like to read these when I'm between books to refresh my reading palette. They're all good. Not a bad one in the bunch.

These delightfully dark tales have something to offer every fan of horror or dark fiction. Tales run the gamut from mysterious towns, supernatural storms, otherworldly creatures, sex and drugs and rock and roll.
Among my favorites were
Lisa Morton’s High Desert in which a woman comes to regret a visit to an abandoned cult compound in the desert, S.G Browne’s Lower Slaughter in which a vacationing couple veer off the beaten path on their last day before they head home. Coffin by Alison J. McKenzie was probably the most unique story about a young man with Cotard's syndrome and the brother who mistakenly thinks he can help him snap out of it. A children's story becomes a nightmare for a grief-stricken woman in Frostlings.
There are lots of spooky moments and of course a general sense of foreboding throughout.

It took me a bit longer to grab this and read each story. The thing with anthologies, especially when there’s a number of contributors to the short stories you get to read. This has once again been a kind ARC copy I had the joy of reading and I must say a lot of the stories were quite interesting but there were a few moments I kind of wondered what’s just missing for me to enjoy it even more. But other than that, it was fine.

I stayed immersed in this one until I finished it in one sitting! These short stories do exactly what the title says. Gives you the odd and horrifying feeling or foreboding. Like something terrible will happen soon, you just don’t know what. Waiting for the shoe to drop.
Anxiety inducing yet I couldn’t stop!

Another solid collection from The Wily Writers collective. My third one, actually. The author line up is familiar by now, and the do their best to charm, delight, and terrify.
Because I’m not good at remembering individual entries in anthologies, I usually just review on the overall impression. In this case, it was overwhelmingly favorable.
Never quite sure how the themes are applicable to these anthologies. They all aim to horrify and by and large succeed, but individual anthology themes appear to be interchangeable.
Either way, a delectable collection of nightmares to appease any genre connoisseur. Recommended. Thanks Netgalley.

Great collection of stories, I really enjoyed this book. Quick read and a nice change to read these short horror stories instead of a long novel.

Having read another short story horror collection by Angel Lee McCoy I thought I was going to get more of the same but I don’t know if this book was published or written long after the first one but this one had such a better story than that not to say the last one wasn’t any good I enjoyed that as well but tales of foreboding hey some creepy awesome stories that would be worth buying on there own let alone in a great collection like this. It’s not often I give a horror collection five stars but I will definitely be giving it to tales of foreboding by angel Lee McCoy kudos to him for really been pointing the creepy factor in playing it to the hill. I receive this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Tales of Foreboding is an anthology centered around the premise of horror stories that give you a sense of trepidation and apprehension. The more the read them, though you may be eager to see how they turn out, you dread going further because you know bad things are right around the corner. For the most part the stories within managed to meet that goal. As I have often found with anthologies the tales in the first half tended to be better than the later ones in the book. I would even say that two or three of the latter ones didn't have that strong a sense of foreboding about them, or as horrible an ending as most of the other stories did. While there weren't any bad offerings I didn't find too many that really stood out. It was a good collection, just not a great one.
