This is an incredibly detailed look at all different regions of Florida that will make you want to visit all of them. I was unable to finish it before it deleted itself (such a frustration with non-kindle ARCs!) so I will be unable to publicly review it, but I was intently reading it and really enjoyed what I read.
A lovely tour of Florida's vast and varied coastal areas. Broadly arranged by region (Treasure Coast, Forgotten Coast, etc.) this offers more depth than a standard coffee table book. There are interesting stories and historical facts about each region and what makes it special. That said, the photography is absolutely stunning! This would be a great purchase for nature or photography lovers, armchair travelers, and anyone with a soft spot for Florida's stunning beauty.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
I am enjoying learning new things about the Florida coast. The photos have been nice to see. The kayaking adventure was a wonderful learning surprise in this title.
This book features pictures and descriptions on each of Florida’s coasts. All of the pictures are nice featuring Florida’s nature, wildlife, attractions, but they are not all high quality like the beautiful cover, some appear to be old, grainy, low quality. I figured this would be a touristy, high quality photo book like National Geographic type but it’s actually more of a history book. Which is still interesting, but I probably wouldn’t seek out or purchase for myself. I particularly like the section about the Florida Keys as it is near and dear to my heart. I have family in Florida and was married in Key West.
Alderson and Pineapple Press consistently produce books that show the true Florida, the one that has nothing to do with theme parks and bizarrely themed dinner theater. From the Panhandle to the Keys, Alderson showcases the vast coastline of one of the most naturally beautiful states in the country
