I absolutely loved this book! I have read most of the author's previous novels, written under numerous different names and enjoyed them all, but this was the best. The life and times of a wartime Yorkshire village and its people shine through, authentic, realistic and charming, and Bobby is a highly likeable heroine with ambition and heart, a feisty forerunner of today's female writers and journalists, trying to make her mark in a time when women were expected to do little more in a newspaper office than type and make the tea. I am so pleased to see that there are going to be more books to come in this series. Can't wait!

Thoroughly good story with a strong female lead, this could turn out to me a trilogy as there is so much more to be told.

Read in 24 hours! Exceptional! Perhaps as I'm a Yorkshire lass and could imagine all the places in the book it made it even more enjoyable for me!

The storyline was strong and the characters were all likeable and relatable too. There were lots of twists and turns that kept me wanting to read more.

I can't wait for the next in the series and thank the author for a great book to enjoy on Boxing Day!

LOVED IT!!! I was born and bred in Yorkshire but moved to Australia when I was 6. My heart ached when reading this book and I could still understand every single thing written. A lovely story, full of heart and home. The characters were genuine and down to earth and the story was beautifully written. I didn't want it to end where it did. I cannot wait for the next book and I am going to search up the author and all of her pen names to read more ASAP. Thanks to the author and Netgalley for a temporary copy in exchange for an honest review.
