Reign by Ginger Garrett is the third in Lost Loves of the Bible series.and tells the story of Jezebel and her marriage to Prince Ahab. The author is a great storyteller and I enjoyed the story. Well written.
A very enjoyable story about the life of Jezebel. You fully understand just how evil Jezebel really was. The author did a good job bringing this story to life.
Reign marks my second encounter with Ginger Garrett and while I faired marginally better this go round, I'm not convinced I'm a good fit for her work.
To be clear, I loved the content and tone of this piece. The book is darker than comparable offerings in this genre and that really appealed to me, but the characters felt one dimensional and stock.
I don't mean to sound harsh as I enjoyed the story, but I never felt as if i understood the cast. I wanted to get into their heads and while I'd be comfortable recommending this piece, I can say I was blown away by what I found in these pages.
Ginger Garrett is a master. Every time you read one of her books (Reign notwithstanding), you step into a world that is surprising in its prose and character.
Certainly this story has been pursued and retold, but Garrett makes you feel as if you are reading it for the first time.
