The first book in Herman’s new Ozark Mountain trilogy is fast-paced and enjoyable. There is nothing very new or highly original with the mystery, though. The ultimate solution is unfortunately something of a letdown. The characters are the stars in the story, and readers will look forward to the next installment of the series.
Four years ago, Abby Cummings’ father disappeared along with her young sister, Riley Jo. The events shattered her mother, but Abby has not given up hope that they will be found. When Abby sees a girl at the town hardware store who she is positive is Riley Jo, she enlists the help of her friend JD and the two begin to investigate. Will their questions put them in danger before they can determine what happened to Abby’s family?
This is book one in the Ozark Mountain Trilogy. It’s my first read by Kathy Herman but won’t be my last as I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
Christian reads are not my kinda thing but I gotta admit this read was a nice surprise for me.
I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
