Story; 5/5
Narration; 5/5
It's been such a joy to read this series and everything Helena Hunting surprises me with how much she makes me care about these characters!
I cried so much in this book, the single dad trope always opens it's door to something i will call a micro trope of where the guy is a single dad because his spouse passed away.
That really lends it self to tug at my heartstrings.
Harley was such a sweetheart, absolutely loved her character's personality and her growth in the book.
Gavin was sweet and I enjoyed reading his POV. He was a great dad and he really had a lot of growing to do.
Payton was so cute, great use of a child character!
Narration;
Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom are pure magic as their characters!
I loved the joy and vulnerability Stella Bloom brought to Harley.
Jason Clarke can do no wrong in my eyes. & He was so amazing as Gavin!
Both Clarke and Bloom really made Payton feel like a kid and I appreciate that!
Overall this was such an amazing audiobook!

PERFORMANCE: 5 STARS – Jason Clarke & Stella Bloom hit the mark once again!
STORY: 4 STARS
Make a Wish is an emotional story about grief and loss, guilt and struggle, acceptance and love, family, friendships and moving forward. It’s got a huge heart to it and is cloaked in hope. I adored this story, but it wasn’t without a few mishaps. Mainly, I didn’t connect with Gavin’s love towards Harley as much as I should have. His connection and growing feelings towards Harley came across more like they were there because of his daughter and not for him. I’m not saying I didn’t believe in their HEA, but while listening to the story, there were too many times when my brain was “hmmmmmm”. Feel me?
It was a enjoyable read. The story line was easy to follow and the characters were relatable. Will definitely recommend this book.
I have read the other Spark sisters books however this one was not my favorite one. Regardless, I love seeing all the sisters and their families together. I narrator was good.
This was a sweet story, but not my favorite of the three Spark sisters. I loved seeing all of their families come together, but wanted more chemistry from Gavin and Harley. I live in Colorado Springs, so that’s fun about these stories, but I wish the landmarks were actual local landmarks. But either way, it’s a sweet, feel good romance! And the audiobook is good!
Make a Wish (Spark House #3) was a great read by Helena Hunting. Harley Spark found herself in a situation where she almost kissed the widowed father of the toddler she nannied, and wishes she could do the moment over again. After that moment, the father and daughter moved across the state and she never saw them again. It has been seven years and she is totally over that moment, or so she thinks. Gavin Rhodes and his now nine year old daughter, Peyton, reappear at a princess themed party at Harley's family's event hotel. She can't help but to notice that she is still attracted to him. She ends up accepting Gavin's lunch invitation for Peyton's sake. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
Make a Wish was the book I was most excited for in this series so I was excited to finally get to it. While I did enjoy a lot about this one, I would say that it was not my favorite of the series like I expected. It started off strong and I did enjoy a lot about this book, but the non communication between Gavin and his in-laws, they way that Harley's sisters dismissed her regarding the business, and the instalove was too much for me. I really liked Harley as the FMC, I've really liked her throughout the series and overall I am happy to see her get her HEA , and I love that she found that with a single dad. I enjoy the single dad trope, but I did not really care for Gavin. Between him not setting boundaries for his mother in law, and being so uncompromising in his relationship with Harley he was just not it for me. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous books, and was happy to see how this series came to an end. I've read several books from this author and I will be reading more.
I enjoyed this book. The audiobook was great. I liked the voice actors they chose for the characters. I did not read the other books in the Spark House series and I was able to follow the stories. I will be reading the other books as I want to know the stories of the other sisters. For me this story was a little more closer to home, as Gavin's story of being a widower hit me differently. I did however enjoy the mental health that was touched upon in this book and the way that they moved forward not moving on. Harley's character was relatable. The level of spice was decent and was seamless within the story not feeling like it just was there.
Make a Wish by Helena Hunting is the third book in the Spark House series following youngest sister Harley. Harley will never forget when she almost kissed the widowed father of a toddler she nannied for. The moment was so horrifying they moved away, and she never saw them again.... until she was dressed as a princess leading a birthday party at Spark House when a little girl gives Harley the strangest sense of DeJa'Vu. Gavin is oblivious to Harley's hive ridden turmoil and suggests they get lunch and how could she turn it down when nine-year-old Peyton is looking forward to spending time with her. Taking a chance to heal past scars can only have a happy ending, right? This story is just as charming as the first two in the series and it is a treat seeing what the other characters are up to as well as learning more about Harley. It is a shame there are not more sisters for this series to continue with.
Thank you @Netgalley and @HelenaHunting for the ARC.
Overall, a really well written and touching story. I was so happy to take the journey with these two and see them find their version of happily ever after.
I think this series is just not my cup of tea. There's too much info about the business and the history shoved into the story, and it really kills the momentum. In this particular one, I also didn't find the MMC Gavin very likeable. I'll stick with HH's other series.
Loved this story! The audio narration was fantastic as well! Have loved this trilogy of sisters by Helen Hunting.
This has all the signature Helena Hunting cuteness and humor, but tropes involving kids, in this cases nanny and single dad, just aren't for me.
Narration: Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom are amazing as always and perfectly cast for this book.
Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for my copy to review.
Harley is the babysitter for hot widower, Gavin's daughter, Peyton. One night she almost kisses him, and one week later Gavin and Peyton move away and Harley doesn't hear from them for almost a decade. Present day:
Gavin and Peyton reunite with Harley back at Spark House, a family-owned party planning company. The pair re-bond with Harley almost instantly, and Harley tries to find closure on her almost-kiss with Gavin. Can they move past that night? Will old feelings arise?
Lots of trope upon trope in this story: widower/nanny, 10+ year age gap, single dad, second chance, babysitter/boss, open door romance, adorable child characters, family dynamics. Even the monster MIL is named Karen. But it works.
The narration was great. Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC.
Trope upon trope, even the monster MIL is named Karen. But I really enjoyed it. Widow/nanny, plus 10+ age gap, plus “oh I’m so tiny I barely meet the height requirement at theme parks,” but it mellowed out. Harley aged well, love her straightforward attitude. Gavin did not. He’s a mess. Peyton seemed a bit immature for nine. That being said, the way Hunting handles the late mother is just beautiful. Got me right in the feels, I did cry. This is a great listen - two narrators who did fantastic.
I LOVE this series/trilogy SOOO much. I've loved following these sisters; and the romance is top notch.
Harley is the babysitter for hot widower, Gavin's daughter, Peyton. One night she almost kisses him, and one week later Gavin and Peyton move away and Harley doesn't hear from them for almost a decade.
In the present tense, Gavin + Peyton reunite with Harley back at Spark House (which I wish was a real place). The pair re-bond with Harley almost instantly, and Harley tries to find closure on her almost-kiss with Gavin. Can they move past that night? Will old feelings arise?
Recommended if you like:
-age gap
-single dad
-2nd chance

This is the third book in the Spark House series. I love the Sparks sisters! Harley and Gavin's story is well written, sweet, funny, emotional, and heartwarming. I liked the humor in the story. Gavin, a single Dad, is very handsome, and caring. Harley is such a beautiful character, smart, strong, and supportive. They are perfect together. Gavin's daughter Peyton is so cute! This is a great second chance at love. Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, a Macmillan Audio production, for an honest review.

First off, I have not read the other two books in this series, please take that into account. I did enjoy this age-gap friendship turned love story. It was a beautiful but emotional journey. I loved the characters and will definitely read the first two books in this series. I’d highly recommend reading the whole series.
