I did not realize this was part of a series, but this book can totally be read a standalone because I don't think you miss much, and I wasn't lost at all while I listened to this. I also think I'm becoming a fan of second chance, age gap romances, I liked the story, and the narrators did an amazing job telling the story. My only gripe and it could just be me, but I wasn't a fan of the Peyton, and maybe because I'm a mom, who reads to get a break from her kids, but her antics were a little too annoying for me. Still even with that I still enjoyed the story.
I just couldn't get into this love story, especially with the starter story and the power dynamic never left my mind
“With her signature charm and sense of humor, bestselling author Helena Hunting creates a novel about love, family, and second chances in Make a Wish.”
Hunting has done it again! I am a fan of all her books; she is a master at creating engaging stories brought to life by equally captivating characters. Harley and Gavin’s story is absolutely adorable to follow. Through all of their ups and downs and miscommunications, their relationship (and them as people) matures and grows until they reach a point where they recognize they are meant to be together and experience love like nothing else

I keep reading things out of order. Sometimes you just need a mostly happy romance, and this was largely that. Harley Spark is an interesting name choice, but she was not that annoying of a narrator. She falls for the widowed father she used to nanny for, Gavin. It's not as cliché as it sounds. Or maybe it is, and I was into it. Hot dads are hot. The kid and MIL are annoying, but I'd like neither, so I'll leave it at that.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher.
This is the first audio book I’ve actually finished! Ahh Gavin and Harley were so cute. Their banter had me laughing out loud and the anticipation of it all kept me on the edge of my seat. I love second chance and age gap romances so I was rooting for them from the beginning. I will definitely be checking out the other books in this series after this one!
Thank you St.Martin’s Press, Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
Gavin and Harley's second chance romance gave me all the feels! These two met when Harley cared for Gavin's daughter after the loss of his wife. When Gavin reenters Harley's life years later, sparks fly. There is so much baggage from the past that stands in their way, but these two do find their way. This story was heartfelt and emotional. I love this series and these sisters. My only thought was that Peyton seemed to act younger than her age when she comes back home. She acted more like a 5 year old than a 9 year old, so I had a hard time wrapping my head around that, but it didn't take away from loving the book! Great read!
Loved this audiobook! Fantastic narrators and a Helena Hunting doing what she does best! I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, and I loved getting to revisit all of the sisters. A really sweet single parent story that pulled on my heartstrings.
Make A Wish pulls at your heartstrings. This book features a sexy single dad and his former nanny. It’s a second chance romance, a found family, an age gape, and a HEA. Gavin and Harley are an amazing couple. 🫶
Ok, so I realize this is the third book in the Spark House series, BUT it can be read as a standalone 😃 If I read the series in order, I might have been more emotionally invested. Yet, this story is brilliant on its own!
I don’t want to give too much away about this book because it’s delightful! I listened to the audiobook in one sitting.
This is my first Helena Hunting novel. How? I don’t even know. I’ve been missing out! Her writing is phenomenal! I do intend to read books on her backlist, and I will be keeping my eyes out for any future books. 😻
If you are looking for a light romance with a little steam, don’t hesitate to pick this book up! It’s amazing!
Thank you to Helena Hunting and Macmillan Audio for providing me with an ALC for review. You all are absolutely amazing!
Make a Wish is the third book in the Spark House series and I enjoyed this one as much as all the others. This series is about the three Spark sisters and each book is one of their romances. Each story has been sweet, emotional and fun, Haley's story has all those things. Harley is the youngest sister and the one that is the least involved in Spark House. She was the one that organized themed birthday parties, but they are phasing them out as they are not big money makers, so she is trying to find her place in the business and in life. At their final party, Harley runs into Gavin, a man she used to work for as a nanny for his daughter Peyton after the death of his wife. She had begun to develop feelings for him, but he moved to be closer to his wife's family and they hadn't seen each other for years. As they spend more time together, they both begin to develop feelings for each other, but his in-laws have other ideas.
I loved the characters in this book. Harley is kind and nurturing, putting everyone else before herself. She is wonderful with children, and her and Peyton have an easy and natural bond. Gavin was a great father, who was still dealing with his grief and guilt. Peyton almost stole the show. She was a sweet child who wanted a mother figure so badly. She connected immediately with Harley and wanted to be with her and do things with her. My one issue was her age. She was nine, but often acted like a 5 year old, and was treated as one as well. The interactions between Gavin, Harley and Peyton were so sweet. They fit together so well and I knew they would be perfect together. Their relationship built slowly and with some rocky times. There is some angst in this story, but that made it more realistic and enjoyable. Of course we see the sisters throughout the story, and their relationships continue to grow as well as changes in their business. With children on the horizon, I would love to see one more book in the series with all three sisters happily married. I recommend this book and series, if you enjoy a good contemporary romance. I did a read/listen with the narration performed by Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom. I enjoyed having both a male and female narrator to share both Harley's and Gavin's points of view.

Synopsis:
Ever have a defining life moment you wish you could do over? Harley Spark has one. The time she almost kissed the widowed father of the toddler she nannied for. It was so bad they moved across the state and she never saw them again.
Fast forward seven years and she’s totally over it. At least she thinks she is. Until Gavin Rhodes and his adorable now nine-year-old daughter, Peyton, reappear at a princess-themed birthday party hosted by Spark House, Harley’s family’s event hotel. Despite trying to avoid the awkwardness of the situation, she can’t help but notice how unbearably sexy he looks in a tutu. Add to that a spontaneous hives breakout, and it’s clear she’s not even remotely over the mortification of her egregious error all those years ago.
Except Gavin seems oblivious to her inner turmoil. So much so that he suggests they get together for lunch. For Peyton’s sake, of course. It’s the perfect opportunity to heal old wounds. Or it could just reopen them. This is one of those times Harley wishes she could see the future…

This was such a cute story! Perfect romcom to add to your TBR for the spring. Third in a series, but did fine as a stand-alone.
The characters were all so loveable. Harley and Gavin’s story is somewhat complicated. We hear her side of the story from the past when she was the nanny and then flash foreword to the present. A second chance romance and the storyline flows smoothly. There is so much chemistry between these two!
3.5 stars
Helena Hunting delivers another fun, steamy episode of the Spark House series! This was my first time listening to an audiobook that I hadn't previously read, and I enjoyed it a lot!
Thank you St. Martin's Press, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to the audio ARC in return for an honest review.
I love this series! Harley is the youngest sister and she is all about the kids. When she finds out they are not going to keep doing the kids parties she is bummed but she is going to make that last party the best and when there is a dad at that party she she recognizes along with his daughter she is floored. He is the man she used to nanny for but when he almost kissed her she lost her job and they ended up moving across the state. Now they are back and Gavin and Peyton are back in her life. Peyton is a sassy youngster who knows her own mind and she wants her dad to have someone special too and she falls hard for Harley. Will they be able to make it work this time and get around all the obstacles in their way?
While this is the 3rd in the series, I appreciate that Helena Hunting writes them that you don’t have to read them in order. Though I did take this ARC as the prompt to go read the 2nd in the series first - which I highly recommend because it’s my favorite!
I am here for the hot dad fantasy and the idea of revisiting a crush when you are older. I love how crafty Harley is and her creativity. I also appreciate that she isn’t written as totally “vanilla” and that she has layers. Additionally, I appreciate how the loss and memory of the first wife was handled and well written. However, London’s story captured my attention more than Harley. I also was surprised in the direction they took the family business,

Make a Wish is the third book in the Spark House series by Helena Hunting, but you don't have to have read the previous two books to be able to understand and enjoy this book. This is a series that follows a set of sisters, and the sisters are side characters in this novel, but understanding the sisters' stories is not vital.
This was such a heartwarming story of what family means and how familial boundaries and dynamics change over time. This story has a lot of heart, but it's also a lot of fun! I loved the relationship between the two love interests. It's a bit of an age gap romance, which I LOVE! I loved the affectionate relationship between the Harley and Gavin's daughter.
Overall, this story is so sweet, fun, and packs a punch in terms of navigating the real life struggles of relationships.
3.5 stars - The narration of this audiobook was great. I really loved the single dad/daughter in this book but for some reason the storyline was missing something for me to really believe the love connection. I loved the spice and the heavier topics in this book. There are some trigger warnings so make sure to check those. I did love the dual POV and the ending was cute. Overall, it was enjoyable.
Thank you to the publisher and @netgalley for providing a free advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this audiobook! The characters had depth and the love story was divine. My only critique is when the audiobook narrators would try to sound like the daughter…. The male narrator, who has a very deep voice, trying to sound like a 9 year old little girl was hard to take seriously. Other than that, great story!
The 3rd instalment in the Spark House series, Make A Wish, is a second chance, single parent story line. Gavin and Harley are so easy to root for and the chemistry is obvious! You may find yourself eye rolling or shouting at the book for the characters to open their eyes... but isn't that true of most romances? Ha! Though this could be read as a standalone, I'd recommend reading from the beginning - I think the series wrapped up beautifully. The narration was excellent, definitely recommend as an audiobook!
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for this ALC!
This is a really sweet book that I normally wouldn't choose to read, but I am a big fan of Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom, who both do a fantastic job with the narration. I usually shy away from single-parent books that have such a focus on the kid(s) (not that they aren't great books, I just prefer more thrillery, darker stories in general), but this one sucked me in. I wanted Harley and Gavin to get their second chance, and Peyton was really cute (Stella Bloom's kid voice for Peyton was great!)
Harley is haunted by her almost-kiss with Gavin, the recently widowed father that she nannied for. Years later, their paths cross again when Gavin moves back to town. The two reconnect and Harley develops a relationship with Gavin's daughter, but Harley is in a relationship. I enjoyed the story but it was ultimately frustrating to see Harley conflicted over her current relationship. Gavin's overreaction to his daughter getting injured on Harley's watch was really unbelievable for me.
