This gets three stars because the story flowed well and kept me listening to it. It doesn’t get the 4 stars the other books in the series got because the relationship was weird to me. I understand how the relationship worked and it made sense but it’s the description of Harley constantly as a child (being younger, being mistaken for her daughter or a child, getting carded) is kinda gross. It made me constantly think he was with a teenager and that was not easy to get around so it ruined the story for me. I wish I could have liked this more because the story itself delved into bigger issues, mainly grief, but I couldn’t get past the characterization of Harley. Also, Peyton was really annoying and was portrayed as much younger than 9.

Narration was excellent, no issues.

Emotion bubbles over with spellbinding results. A charming look at love that speaks to the soul. It's hard not to fall in love.

I really enjoyed this series finale! I was so happy to get Harley’s story. I really loved Gavin and his daughter Peyton. I loved everything about the scenes with the sisters. This was an enjoyable contemporary romance and the audio was also well done. Helena is a favorite of mine and I am excited for what she writes next.

This is the third book in the Spark House Trilogy, we get Harley, Payton, and Gaven, a single-parent second chance romance, with great characters, a good story, and very emotional, I certainly was moved by the end of the book. It can be read as a standalone, however, there are things that are part of the whole series. The audiobook was narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom, I think they were a good cast for this story. I love Jason Clarke, he certainly has that spike for romcoms, good pacing and great audio quality.

I adored this one! It was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy! I loved Harley and how bubbly and optimistic she was! Hunting also did a great job writing about navigating moving on after grief ! I listened to the audiobook and highly recommend that format; I think Jason Clarke is now one of my favorite male narrators. As usual I had no clue this was part of a series so I will definitely be checking out the two preceding books.

I absolutely loved this book! There is just something about Helena Hunting’s writing that I really enjoy, I was introduced to her writing with the first Spark House book and have been enjoying every book in this series.

At first I did find the age gap between Peyton and Gavin to be a bit weird, especially since Peyton is the nanny to Gavin’s daughter when we are first introduced to them. Ultimately that just added a different dynamic to the story that I really ended up liking and it was done in a tasteful way.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoyes romcom’s and any of the following tropes: age gap, employer/employee, single dad, friends to lovers.

Just finished Make A Wish. I laughed out loud at more than one part, cried at a few, too. Harley is mortified at almost kissing Gaven, her boss and the widowed father of the infant she has taken care of since birth, when Peytons mom died when Peyton was born.
I listened to the audio version, and other than a few times not knowing if what was being said was actually said aloud or the characters were just thinking it, it was great. This really was a good read; not too much angst, not too much drama, and the ending was perfect!

This was an enjoyable narration from Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom even if I did have to change the speed of the playback and make it slightly quicker - it just felt a little of a drawl at my usual speed. Stella can alternate smoothly between voicing the male and female parts but my one niggle would be that sometimes her voice is just a bit samey for each book she does. It’s possible I’m only feeling this as lately she’s done the narration for my last couple of audible listens. However despite Jason and Stella do make a great double act.

A sweet and cosy second chance romance from Helena Hunting as the youngest Spark sister Harley reconnects with widower Gavin Rhodes and his adorable daughter eight years after being his live-in nanny for the then baby Peyton. With lots of emotion and angst as Gavin finally comes to terms with the guilt he carries over the death of his wife during child birth and opens himself up to the prospect of finding love again. One of the pros with this book was the depiction of Gavin as a dad. There aren’t many men out there who would willing dress up in a tutu no matter how much they love their baby girls. His relationship with Peyton was beautifully written. On the con side Harley did come across as a bit of a Pollyanna, always seeing good in everything and smiling and letting people walk all over her. I was glad by the end of Make A Wish she found her backbone as well as her voice and told everyone what she wanted and didn’t just go along with their decisions. With a touching epilogue I dare anyone not to listen to this book and finish it without a big smile on their face.

I haven't read the first two books in this series yet and I didn't know anything about the story when I started listening to the audiobook. I also wasn't expecting an age gap romance, but it worked so well and I was drawn in right away. The timing wasn't right the first time around and I loved that the romance didn't really happen until now. Peyton is delightful and I loved her scenes with Harley. Gavin is struggling with grief and being a single parent and Harley helos him to heal and move forward. I can't wait to read her sister's stories as they made an appearance in the book. The narrators were phenomenal and I loved their portrayals of the characters.

Make a Wish - Helen Hunting
Synopsis:
"Ever have a defining life moment you wish you could do over? Harley Spark has one. The time she almost kissed the widowed father of the toddler she nannied for. It was so bad they moved across the state and she never saw them again.
Fast forward seven years and she's totally over it. At least she thinks she is. Until Gavin Rhodes and his adorable now nine-year-old daughter, Peyton, reappear at a princess-themed birthday party hosted by Spark House, Harley's family's event hotel. Despite trying to avoid the awkwardness of the situation, she can't help but notice how unbearably sexy he looks in a tutu. Add to that a spontaneous hives breakout, and it's clear she's not even remotely over the mortification of her egregious error all those years ago."

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.

This was cute! I enjoyed watching the relationship unfold. I did not read the first two books in the series but didn't feel like I was missing too much- it was easy to read as a standalone. That being said, I will probably go back and read the others since this was an enjoyable read. The narrator had a great voice as well!

Harley Spark lost both of her parents when she was 12. Raised by her grandmother along with her two older sisters, who were also grieving, Harley learned to put the needs of others before herself. When that's combined with her natural creativity and nurturing spirit, and it seems inevitable that she'd eventually work with kids.

And that's how Gavin Rhodes walked back into her life--when Harley is all dressed up as a fairy godmother at a kids' birthday party. And if that isn't bad enough, Harley's infant niece overflows her diaper while Harley is holding her and awkwardly talking with Gavin and his daughter Peyton, whom Harley used to nanny.

Gavin and Peyton had moved away when Peyton was 18 months old after one evening when the widowed Gavin and Harley almost kissed. And Harley's wondered all these years if the move was her fault.

This second-chance romance was a great love story that explored real topics, like how loss shapes our fears and insecurities. And how our hearts expand to love another. It's not a matter of loving one person or another, but having room in our hearts and lives to move on after loss, while cherishing memories and making new ones.

The only thing I didn't like is the explicit sex scenes. There was so much that was good about this book that it didn't need anything more to keep this reader's attention. And I found it awkward and uncomfortable to hear the graphic detail of Gavin and Harley's lovemaking. The whole experience of Peyton's continual interruptions of their alone time would have worked just as well (and been cuter honestly) if the sexual content had been less explicit.

That said, I appreciate the opportunity to listen to an advance review copy. Thank you to Helena Hunting, Macmillan Audio and NetGalley.

This was definitely my favorite book in the series! Harley and Gavin haven’t seen each other in 8 years but their attraction is undeniable. Peyton is Gavin’s daughter and her mother died in child birth. Harley was Peyton’s nanny when she was a baby. Harley and Gavin grew close then he fled town with Peyton to be closer to his (overbearing) in laws. 8 years go by and Gavin and Peyton return to town. They attend a birthday party that Harley is running through Spark House. Harley’s feelings immediately rush back. As she starts to spend time with Peyton, and eventually Gavin, Harley and Gavin both recognize what they have. The way the story developed was written well. The inevitable grave misunderstanding (that always comes in stories like these) makes sense, and the ultimate happy ending is exactly what you wished for these characters. I’m glad I stuck with this series because each book is better than the one before. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy to review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS
Stella Bloom and Jason Clarke make a dynamic narrating duo. Their performance was delivered with so much emotion, which gave you all the feels. I loved the Spark sisters, but Harley held a special place in my heart! I felt like I related the most to her character. Harley and Gavin's romance evokes so many emotions, it hooked me from beginning to end. I always know that I will love any book that Helena Hunting has written. I highly suggest reading this EPIC series, if you haven't already done so. Make a Wish by Helena Hunting is an EPIC audiobook that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

Make a wish is the 3rd book in the Spark House Series where we get to read about Harley Spark's story. Harley is the youngest Spark sister and takes care of social media for Spark House. But with their expansion plans, Harley is unsure where she fits at Spark House. During her early 20s, Harley is a live in nanny for widower Gavin's new baby Peyton. Gavin and Peyton leave town and Harley is heartbroken. Cut to present day, Gavin and Peyton are back and they strike a connection with Harley again and develop feelings!

While I loved When Sparks Fly, Starry eyed love was ok too, I had a lot of issues with Make a wish. Gavin came across as an opportunist who was using Harley for childcare. I never felt any love develop between Gavin and Harley. It seemed like a convenient arrangement plus sex. Gavin also never stands up for Harley with his mother-in-law unless it suits him. Another issue I had was Peyton being a 9 year old behaved like a  5 year old and was treated like one too! Harley was also a push over be it with Gavin and with her sisters. This book had a lot of potential and could have been a good one had these issues been addressed. It was a quick read!

Thank you @stmartinspress @smpromance @macmillanaudio for the ARC/ALC of Make a wish.

If you are a fan of romcoms, you should add this to your list (along with the others in the series before it).

I just loved Harley. Her personality and the way she handled every situation was amazing. Such a pure character filled with love and compassion. I also loved seeing her and Gavin navigate their feelings. Gavin definitely needed some work and I got super frustrated with him and the MIL drama, but he learned and grew.

This book made my heart happy and I easily tore through the pages. I’ve been loving romcoms lately so this was perfect.

Thank you to @smpromance for the gifted arc! 💜

Make A Wish is the third and final book in the Spark House series, and I loved the journey that youngest sister Harley went through with Gavin, the hot widowed dad she used to nanny for. This book had a heavier feel to it than the others did, simply because Gavin was kind of stuck in the past as far as grieving his late wife Marcie (who died the day their daughter Peyton was born) and his feelings about making a future with Harley.

Helena Hunting infused this book with her signature charm and wit, and gracefully handled how Gavin came to terms with moving past the love he lost. I also felt that the issues Gavin had with his mother-in-law and her grief were handled wonderfully. Sure, Karen was mean and snippy, but once they really got into things, it was clear that she was consumed by grief herself. And Payton is a wonderful little girl and brought so much to the story.

I went back and forth between listening to this book on audio and reading it, and I adored how Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom brought these characters to life.

Make A Wish is a wonderful story about finding love after loss, and I think it was my favorite of the bunch. And I loved all three books! And the bonus epilogue was a fantastic wrap-up for this series!

I received a complimentary copy from St. Martin's Press via NetGalley and voluntarily left a review.

This is a sweet little book, third in a series, but could definitely be read as a standalone, as I did it. I had no knowledge of the first two books, but was drawn to the cover of this one.

This is a light, contemporary romance book, that is easy to read, and ticks all the boxes for those who love romantic fiction set in the here and now. The characters are easy to like, and the story moves along at a great pace, not lingering too long on any one chapter or part of the story.

I enjoyed this book so much that I may just have to go back and read the first two installments, about our main protagonist's other sisters. I loved the writing style of this book, so I'm sure I would enjoy those too.

Overall, a great and entertaining book, never too heavy, but not so light as to be fluffy or frivolous.

5 The Ultimate Second Chance Stars

Not only was I captivated while reading this book, but I also had the chance to listen to Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom embody these characters with finesse, grace and love. I fell so in love with everyone because of their narration. When children are in a story, it’s so important to capture their innocence and love of life and both Jason and Stella do a wonderful job in this role.

I’ve loved this entire series, but I can honestly say Harley’s book is my favorite. I’m a sucker for a single dad book especially when the child is a little girl that is as intelligent and precocious as Peyton. While her bond with Harley was interrupted for several years, there is no doubt that their connection is as solid as ever. What’s different this time around is that Gavin has experienced life without his wife for the last several years and now he can be more open to his feelings for Harley. It also helps that their age difference that seemed monumental 10 years ago doesn’t have the same stigma.

With the first two books, Harley has clearly been a major player in the storylines, but I’ve always wondered what was really going on in her mind…especially as Spark House starts growing and each of the sister’s roles change. With this book, we really get to see what Harley is so good at and while she’s so happy that their business is growing, it also may result in what she loves to do being put on the back burner. Thankfully, Gavin and Peyton are back in Colorado Springs and as Gavin and Harley spend more and more time together, friendship slowly turns to so much more… but are they willing to take the risk? There’s so many others that need to be considered. Some of whom I wasn’t a real fan of, but, such is life and that’s one of the things I adore so much about Ms. Hunting’s writing; she tells it like it is!

This book wraps up this series so well. I’m definitely going to miss the Spark Sisters and everyone that surrounds their lives. I wish Spark House was real because I’d definitely be booking an event there just to experience the magic of the Spark Sisters!
