Finlay Donovan and Vero will forever be my favorite tag team. Call me Marie Kondo because I love the messes they find themselves in, even if they’re wildly out there and unpredictable. FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN was a great continuation of this series, and spoiler, non-spoiler, I can’t wait for book four! (Please write faster, Elle).

Just like books one and two, Finlay and Vero have found themselves in hot water. With returning storylines and characters, it felt like quite the full circle moment to see a few storylines come to an end. But you know what they say, as one door kind of closes, plenty more have surely opened. For Vero and Finlay, there’s plenty more they can get into.

There were parts of the story that were kind of a drag and found myself thinking hurry up already, but it made sense in the end. My other agitation? I need more Nick in my life!

If you’re invested in this series, you’ll probably enjoy this one as well! And for those who haven’t started the series, make sure you read them in order. I don’t recommend these as a stand-alone.

Big thank you to Minotaur books and Netgalley for the ARC!

Content warnings: violence, murder, fire, hostage

Finlay Donovan is back! Actually, she and Vero are back! Lol the ladies find trouble where ever they go, even in at the citizen’s police academy! You would think they would be safe, surrounded by officers, but they aren’t. Wait til you see the shenanigans these gals get up to there.
Full of sarcasm, hilariously wrong situations and a little spicy romance, Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun is the perfect third installment to a series I’m hooked on. The storyline continues from the first two books, so reading them are a must. But once you do, you’re invested in the characters. This book leaves you with the best cliffhanger, setting it all up for a fourth book. I’m ready for it!
I listened to this book on audio, because I did with the last two and enjoyed them so much. The narrator is absolutely AMAZING! I don’t know how she does it without cracking up. It definitely takes the books next level. To get the full vibe of Vero, you need the audio. She is even more sassy when you actually get to hear her. If you’re into audiobooks, listen to this one!!
Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun comes out the end of January. Read the first two, then get this one! You won’t be sorry.

A quick read; just like the first two….another fun adventure with Finlay Donovan and her sidekick Vero hunting bad guys all while trying to finish her deadline for her next book 😂🤣 I enjoy these, they’re very light reads, but entertaining. I’ll always read more Finlay!

“…and the next thing you know, we were swapping panties…”

This is another fun installment of the Finlay Donovan series. This series is so much fun and I love seeing all of the trouble that Finlay and Vero get into.

This book was no different…it’s fun with endearing characters that you’ll love from start to finish.

The relationships with the men in Finlay’s life get kicked up a notch and things come to a head in Finlay’s love life…it was fun to see all of that come together.

I really loved the audiobook narrator. She’s awesome as always.

I can’t wait for the next book and to see what Finlay and her crew get into next!

Well folks, Elle Cosimano has done it again! The comedic duo of Finlay and Vero are back, still helplessly tangled up with the Russian mob AND the local police department. Which is unfortunate as they keep accidentally killing people hot on their tail.

I have only listened to the audiobooks, and can't imagine them in a different format. Angela Dawe so perfectly captures Finlay. She is such a talent. Her ability to do a variety of different voices and characters in every wild situation possible is sensational. Listening to her narration is escapism at it's finest.

As a reader, suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this series to anyone and everyone. There is a little of something for everyone and most importantly- Finlay Donovan is so much fun!

Sidenote: while the author does an excellent job at filling in the gaps, I highly recommend reading the first two installments of the Finlay Donovan series before diving into Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun. With that crazy cliffhanger, I'll be very IMPATIENTLY waiting for book 4!

the third book in this series did not disappoint. an intriguing and fun read, as per usual, that keeps u engaged the whole time. i wasn't obsessed with the second book but this one !!! i loved the setting, knowing they were all together and finlay slowly trying to get her way into everything that was going on was captivating. i read this quickly since it's one of those books where u just want to keep reading because of it's fast pacing. i keep on loving finlay as a character and vero as well, of course i enjoyed nick getting more attention and this was overall a fun time. the one thing i struggle with this series is how confusing it can be at times, there's a lot of names and plots even though I actually like that since it's really hard to guess the plot which gives u the surprise factor.
can't wait to see more of this series!

Ah Finlay! What are you up to this time around? Can you just get together with Nick and make us all happy? Enough with this trouble with Felix, but you cannot help it, do you? You somehow always find yourself in his web, getting more in debt to him…

Finlay couldn’t be satisfied with getting women rid of their useless, cheating, horrible husbands. Now she decided to or kind of forced to find out bad cops in the district. I guess she was running out of writing material 😅 what’s the best way to get close to all the cops in the district? Joining their civilian police training! Only two bad sides of doing so were: 1. Nick would be teaching 2. She and Vero shouldn’t show how well versed they were with handling crime scene, finding dead bodies, and reading clues.

Another fun installment of Finlay! I’m glad to see she was “venturing out” and finally not acting like a 15 year old hiding after seeing her crush. While this person she “got rid of” kept others after her at bay, but he managed to open big can of worm in her brain with a comment that he only got rid of people he truly vetted. Let’s see what that comment is going to bring to story in the next book

I loved the first Finlay book and enjoyed the second so I was really looking forward to the third one. It was ok. I felt like it was very cheesy and not very realistic. I liked the narrator of this audiobook, she did a good job but this book was just okay for me.

Finlay Donovan is a stressed-out writer and mother to two young children with a deadline, writer’s block, and an infuriating ex-husband. She does not need any more drama in her life, but that’s exactly what she gets after a meeting with her agent in a crowded coffee shop. Overhearing Finlay describe the plot of her new book, a customer mistakes her for a contract killer. Before she knows it, Finlay accidentally finds herself involved in a real life crime! Book two brings back Finlay and the motely crew she gathered in the book one-Vero, her nanny with a secret past and Detective Nick Anthony, the dreamy hot cop. This time it appears that Finlay is not the only one who’s done with her Stephen, her ex. On top of everything else, he seems to have attracted the attention of the Russian mob! Which brings us to book three. The unresolved issues of the previous book are still in play, so it seems like a risky move to enroll in the Citizen’s Police Academy, but that’s exactly what Finlay and Vero do. Danger, romance, and hilarity ensue. Vero’s past secret is revealed, as is the identity of the mysterious hitman, EasyClean, but fans will rejoice in the knowledge that there are still loose ends and further adventures of Finlay and Vero to come.

This series is pure addictive escapism. Non-stop shenanigans, close calls, and toddler antics are par for the course with Finlay and Vero. Fans of witty banter, will-they-won’t-they sexual tension, and the ugly realities of parenthood with enjoy this series. Finlay and Vero are quite the dynamic duo and the love interests are dreamy

The next iteration of Finlay Donovan is filled with just as much hijinx, hilarity, and highly improbable but still incredibly amusing chaos. Finlay and Vera find themselves at civilian police camp, and somehow, despite being surrounded by cops, there are several almost murders, a dismemberment, multiple fires, and highly wanted criminal walking on and off the premises. It’s got a lot of sass and sarcasm and definitely a lot of assumptions.

FINLAY DONOVAN JUMPS THE GUN, by Elle Cosimano, is the third book in the series. While it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend starting with the first book in order to get the most enjoyment. I’ve been smitten by this series from the very first and this newest release delivers Ms. Cosimano’s trademark zany humor and more! The protagonist, Finlay Donovan, and her sidekick (friend/nanny/accountant), Vero, are once again in over their heads... way over their heads. With the Russian mob trying to collect on a “favor” and a loan shark hounding them for a past due payment, the only sensible thing to do would be to go hide out at a week-long citizen’s police academy, right? The author’s twist and turns kept me glued to the story in this lightning-fast-paced read. With frequent laugh-out-loud scenes, there’s not one dull moment in the story. The witty banter filled with innuendo between Finlay and Vero only amps up the entertainment as they try to solve a well-plotted mystery while trying to keep themselves alive and out of prison. I highly recommend Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun to anyone who enjoys madcap humor and a great mystery.

The narrator, Angela Dawe, does an amazing job portraying Finlay while giving all the other characters distinct characteristics. Her voice range accurately covers both male and female voices, along with nationality accents. The narrator made the story all the more appealing.

I was provided with an advance audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely love this series, and this book was no exception!

Third in a series, Finlay and her sidekick/nanny/accountant/friend Vero are in for more hilarious adventures. Snappy dialogue and well-developed characters add to the charm of this mystery. To get the full effect, you should read or listen to the entire series.

My first Finlay book was on audiobook and I was hooked! The narrator drew me in and kept me coming back. When I saw the third book (yes, I read the second) was available to preview on audio, I jumped at it.

Finn and Vero are back but this time they are at police camp as Finn is trying to find out who the dirty cop is so that she can out of the mess she has got herself in. Nick is running the camp and he still has his eyes on Finn, as does his partner, but for a different reason.

I love a good mystery, but this series has humor, romance, and head-shaking moments, which keeps me coming back. The audiobook is definitely worth listening to and was a major draw for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Short synopsis: Finlay and her nanny Vero are still trying to tie up loose ends from an accidental Murder for Hire. While trying to appease Feliks part of the Russian mob and find the mysterious EasyClean, Finlay and Vero sign up for Citizens Police Academy to find answers.

My thoughts: I think Finlay and Vero are quite the duo. Their banter and shenanigans are hilarious and awkward and their friendship is goals!

I thought the Citizens Police training was a fun addition to the story, and enjoyed seeing Mrs Haggerty a bit more.

I did feel like there were definitely some obstacles that Finlay and Vero faced that resolved a little too easily and they’d be in the next predicament. I would have liked there to be a little more depth to the problems, and not quite as many.

The first scene in the book had me laughing out loud. As a mother of a wild and curious 3 year old, I really hope and pray that I never have to chase him into the men’s bathroom at Walmart and climb under the stall to retrieve him.

The narrator did such an amazing job on this production. She made me feel Finlay pain, confusion, frustration, and all other emotions more fully. While reading the book is definitely fun, the audio makes the experience so much better!

Read if you love:
* Funny murder mysteries
* Friendship goals
* Hot cops
* Outrageous situations
* Writers block

Thank you to McMillan Audi and Netgalley for a copy of this book! Publication date is January 31, 2023

Ah, that Finlay Donovan !

I enjoyed this book very much - just as much as the previous two books about our sleuth seeking author and single mom.

Seems like there is a surprise around the corner every time, and the cop ? Oh, my !

I can't say much about the story without giving too much away.
But if you read any Finlay Donovan book before, you will love this one just as much.

I have to say, that I received this as a free audio book, but I did have a ARC of this book and had already read it, before I listened to it and got lost in the sleuthing once again.

I would highly recommend to purchase this book - however, you want to start with the first book in the series to kind of get to know her and the people around her.

This was such a fun read.
Loved it - 5 star !

Finlay Donovan Book #3
Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun
Author: Elle Cosimano
Narrator: Angela Dawe

I just finished listening to the ArC of this book and have to say it is downright laugh-out-loud hilarious!

Finlay and Vero (her nanny/partner in crime) are back and better than ever. Between being on the wrong side of the Russian mob to attending a live-in police academy camp for citizens, these two are up to all their usual hijinks. They seem to be magnets for trouble, both legal and illegal yet always seem to make it through. They continue their sleuthing with plenty of craziness and over the top antics thrown in. There is never a dull time with these two on the case!

This series is so addicting! And I cannot wait until the next one comes out already!

Finlay Donovan is at it again, just trying to stay out of trouble, even though trouble seems to keep finding her. This time around, Finlay and Vero attend a civilian police academy hoping to track down a contract killer and finally be out of the hands of the mob. And as always, there are plenty of complications to Finlay’s plans in this action packed, hilarious, and addicting read.

I listened to this as an audio and absolutely love the long-term narrator for this series. I’ve listened to all three books as an audio and was so happy that Angela Dawe read this one as well.

The biggest thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and Elle Cosimano for providing me with this gifted audio in exchange for my honest review.
