Just love this cozy mystery series featuring Willa and her besties from Curds & Whey Cheese Shop in Yarrow Glen. Willa’s love life is finally taking off with her “almost” boyfriend, Roman. Massey. But Willa learns that Roman is Summer Harrington’s ex-fiancé who jilted her, something Willa experienced with her own broken engagement. So now Willa is confused about Roman. Now Summer is set to marry Nelson, nephew of the town’s mayor, and he’s quite a hothead. When he sees Summer talking with Roman, he explodes. On the day of Summer Harrington’s wedding shower, Willa sees Roman with Summer, and is doubly confused. Willa is there to cater a cheese board but then the shower is cancelled when Willa discovers Nelson dead in the stables with a pitchfork in him and Roman has disappeared. Of course, she gets that look again from Detective Heath as she once again is present when a murder happens in their little town. Willa knows that Roman couldn’t have done it, although Olivia Harrington, Summer’s mother and a formidable presence in town, is quite sure that he did. Willa and her besties set out to find the real killer and protect Roman. Lots of twists and turns and just fun clues. Willa puts herself in jeopardy, but Detective Heath seems to always have her back. Sparks seem to fly when they are together, and I look forward to the next in this series to see if Willa and Heath will finally get together. This is a good clean cozy murder mystery, with a bit of electricity of passion going on. There are surprises that you won’t see coming but are quite delicious. You could read this as a stand alone, but why not read the whole series? Just perfect to curl up with on a chilly evening.
Many thanks to #netgalley #curdsofprey #korinamoss #st.martinspress for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I love this series! This is the third book so far and I feel like we really know the main characters now, the books just keep getting better. The author does a great job of describing scenery and making the storyline feel so realistic. I would love to reread the series on audio, I think it would be even better.
This book started out really slow for me. I had no emotional attachment to either Summer or Chloe or anyone else in the Harrington family, so the fact that a lot of the beginning was spent with those characters made it hard for me to get into the story. I really enjoy Baz and Willa's banter, though, so I wanted to continue reading. As Willa started to investigate and Roman was being a jerk, I was really annoyed by her wishy washy feelings toward him. At times, she seemed to still be so into him (even after all he'd done to her in this book) and at other times, she seemed over him. But about 60% of the way into the book, things started to fly! I binge read the last portion of the book because it was just so interesting the way Willa investigated and discovered clues. I really enjoyed the last 40% quite a lot. The tension with Willa and Heath, the "accidental" shooting, Willa's finding the final clue that helped her solve the case. It was just really good! Overall, I'll definitely keep reading because I definitely want more Willa and Heath!
Willa and the gang are back again in the third installment of the cheese shop mysteries Curds of Prey by Korina Moss. Once again, Willa finds herself at the center of a murder. Summer Harrington is to marry the mayor's nephew Nelson. A marriage that is good for the Harrington family, the events are planned with maximum visibility, that is until the murder happens. Mix in the various romantic entaglements (of which there are several), and Curds of Prey delivers. You won't want to miss this one.
Cheesy and charming! Willa and Team Cheese stole my heart from the start and the mystery sucked me in. An excellent tale with twists and turns and just a little heartache. A super charming cozy mystery.
Another Cheese Shop Mystery story that I loved!! One thing I love about cozy mystery series is revisiting small towns and friendly characters again and again. Curds of Prey is the third installment in this series. It's a story full of tense family dynamics, old fiancés, new fiancés, emotional sisters, and seemingly powerful rich people ruling in a small town. Those aspects were so fun in a cozy! There's also some fizzling romance, some blossoming romance and, of course, murder. I loved to spend time with Willa again in Yarrow Glen. This is a series I will continue 🙌
Curds of Prey is out March 28th. Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for my e-arc!
“Curds of Prey” is the third book in Korina Moss's Cheese Shop cozy mystery series and for the most part I really enjoyed it. The cheese shop setting is a good one – I felt like I should be eating cheese while reading this book! I also love the characters – starting with shop owner Willa, and her friends Baz, Archie, and Mrs. Schultz. The main mystery is a good one – Willa is hosting a cheese bar for a wedding shower when she finds a dead body – with plenty of suspects to choose from. There is also another smaller mystery that is also a good one. If there is one thing that I didn’t like about this book (and the series) is that there are far too many romances/love triangles that get in the way of the mystery – it does appear that some of those have been resolved. I hope so because they get in the way of an otherwise delightful series.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley.
Curds of Prey is the latest installment in Korina Moss' Cheese Shop mystery series. Once again, Willa and Team Cheese is at the center of a murder. Summer Harrington is to marry the mayor's nephew. As befits the elite, upper crust Harrington family, the events are planned with maximum visibility, that is until the murder. Mix in the various romantic entaglements (of which there are several), and Curds of Prey delivers. You won't be able to put this one down!
Murder has away of ruining a wedding shower. When Will Bauer is asked to cater some cheese plates for a wedding shower for the daughter of a powerful family, she is thrilled. The Harringtons own a magazine called All Things Sonoma and Willa would be thrilled to be included. Unfortunately the bridegroom is found dead with a pitchfork in his chest and there are many suspects even family members and the mayor's son. Willa wants to investigate but putting herself between two powerful women could damage her business, but that doesn't stop her. The third in the series and there are lots of surprises with the other characters too. Looking forward to what is next.
This series is a cheesy good time and makes me hungry. I seriously need to find a good cheesemonger… Moss has created a solid cast of characters around Willa. The mystery here was lots of fun, with enough possible suspects to keep readers guessing. I’m still not sure about the arc of Willa’s love life… but that should hopefully be resolved in the next couple of books.
The Cheese Shop Mysteries is fast becoming one of my favourite cozy mystery series! It has everything to keep me coming back for more – solid characters, delicious cheese, a sexy detective, more cheese, great twisty mysteries, did I mention the cheese? In all seriousness, this is wonderful series for cozy mystery lovers to dig into.
First of all, the characters. I love the characters, especially Willa, the protagonist. She’s warm, friendly, and competent. It doesn’t hurt that she’s a cheesemonger and I LOVE cheese (I think you’ve figured that out by now, though). Along with the mystery, I’m enjoying learning about a variety of cheeses. But it’s not just the main character that is well written. The recurring supporting cast, from Willa’s staff, to Willa’s neighbour Baz, to the local shopkeepers and townsfolk, all make appearances throughout the book and many of them continue to develop into great characters on their own.
I really enjoy the way the friendships are portrayed – especially the “Scooby Gang”, or #TeamCheese, Willa’s close-knit friends who area always ready to lend a hand, whether it’s in the shop or solving the latest murder.
Plus, there’s Willa’s two potential love interests – Roman, the charming meadery-owner who has apparently dated every single woman in the vicinity, and Detective Heath, who is much more serious and tight-lipped. Roman does a lot of things in this book that had me screaming “Team Heath!” at my screen several times – I must admit that since book one I’ve been #TeamHeath all the way… so fingers crossed (and no spoilers!).
As for the murder and mystery solving, as usual, it was paced very nicely throughout the book. We are introduced to several new characters who didn’t take long to make their marks. They all added a lot of intrigue to the mix and their personalities were quite vivid and well written. I felt like they were part of the regular group of characters after only a few chapters. You could almost hear the spoiled whining and the tense showdowns between the rich and the powerful.
There were enough motives to keep me guessing and I found the tightrope that Willa had to walk between the mayor, the bride’s mother, and Heath to bring some nice tension into the mix.
Looking back I think there were enough clues for me to figure out who the murderer was but I also enjoyed just sitting back and letting the action unfold. This was a book I definitely read in one sitting because I couldn’t stop until the conclusion (which was satisfying, to say the least).

Thank you NetGalley, Korina Moss and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of Curds of Prey. This is my personal review.
This is the third book in the series Cheese Shop Mystery and each book in the series gets better and better. I enjoy a cozy mystery that keeps me guessing until the end. When I think I have it figured out who was guilty in comes a curve ball and I am back to trying to figure it out.
Yarrow Glen is where it all takes place. Cheese monger Willa Bauer is excited to be part of Summer Harrington’s wedding by being able to do a cheese bar for the wedding shower.
And when Willa finds the groom dead in the stable this is the start of her solving the mystery to calm the town down!
Oh I can not wait for the next book in this series! Korina Moss can write a fantastic cozy mystery for all her fans to enjoy,
A cheesemonger...I need one of those in my life. This mystery starts out well enough, with a dead groom and a possible boyfriend of Willa's under suspicion. I like Willa and her employees and friends from this book and the previous books in the series. But many of the main characters in this book (the mayor, the mother of the bride, the bride, etc.) feel like caricatures. That makes it less fun to read this. As for Roman, well, you can judge for yourself. The overall story is okay, but I was really looking for more than okay.

Curds of Prey is the third in the Cheese Shop series by Korina Moss - and the books only keep getting better and better. This one puts cheesemonger Willa Bauer in the midst of a wedding shower that goes bad -- bad for the would be couple, bad for the merchants, bad for the families involved, and especially bad for Willa when someone she cares for is the main murder suspect. I like Korina's light touch, expert weaving of plot and cheese, and willingness to let her characters experience different shades of life in a realistic way. I truly enjoyed this book. In saying this, I need to note that my review and comments are predicated on a book I received from Net Galley, but the thoughts expressed are my own.
The Cheese Team! Love this series since it is a great blend of food themed cozy mystery with good character development and a detailed plot. I wish Willa was my cheese friend!
Thank you St. Martin's Press for my eArc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Curds of Prey is the third installment of the Cheese Shop Mystery series. It is such an enjoyable cozy mystery series! Other than wanting to eat cheese all the time.
Willa finds another body and this time her "maybe" boyfriend is the key suspect. Nothing goes right when Willa is asked to provide a cheese bar for the wedding shower of the season. But as we've learned in the previous books, Willa is not one to just sit on the sidelines. Her investigative techniques have gotten better, but she still manages to put herself in harms way.
As usual, I was surprised at the reveal, but that is why I enjoy cozies so much, there is just a little bit of suspense. Things are not looking good romance wise, but maybe there is someone new?
Looking forward to reading more in this series.
The elegant bridal shower that Willa has created an elaborate cheese board for is abruptly cancelled after the groom-to-be is found dead in the stables. It turns out that Roman, who Willa has started to see as boyfriend material, was once involved with the bride-to-be....and he's a suspect. I love this series. The writing and characters are great. I wish that the adult characters who were upset about their relationships would have had a conversation with each other instead of sulking alone. I've never made a recipe from the back of a cozy mystery, although I've been tempted many times before. This book had me hoping that Willa's creations would be included and I can't wait to try all of them!
When the mayor's nephew is found dead at his own engagement party and Roman becomes prime suspect in his murder Willa jumps in to help clear his name. There's almost romance with Roman, cheese and of course Willa putting herself in harm's way to find the real killer. The budding romance with Roman goes nowhere fast, leaving an opening for Heath to become the love interest in the future (maybe?).
This was a fun mystery, the characters were engaging even if the relationship between the bride to be and her sister was extremely unhealthy. All in all a fun enjoyable read.
This book is fantastic! As someone who is a total cheesehead (as in #TEAMCHEESE and not the football team) this was my favorite of the series, so that is saying ALOT! This series gets better and better w/ each read!
Korina has me chomping @ the bit to find out what happens next, and I'm so invested in each and every character in this series!
AND THE CHEESE!!! THE CHEESE!!
This series is a must read for cozy mystery lovers!!
I received an arc of this book in exchange for a honest review. I would like to thank netgalley, the author Korina Moss, and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book!

Willa and her buddies are back in the beauty Sonoma Valley for the third installment of the Cheese Shop Mysteries. Willa's shop, Curds of Whey, and a few other local businesses are prepping away for the wedding shower of one of the elite families in Yarrow Glen. Minutes before the event starts Nelson, the soon to be groom and also nephew of the Mayor, surprises his future wife Summer with a grand gesture of rolling into the party as Prince Charming, wanting to declare his love for her again. They had quite the fight the previous night and tensions were high. Unfortunately that didn't go as planned due to her ex-fiancé Roman being there, who is also Willa's *almost* boyfriend. Another fight takes place and not even an hour later, Nelson is found dead on the property, by Willa! With the help of her Scooby Gang, now Team Cheese as they declared, they are off to solve the mystery. There are lots of turns and I was quite surprised by the ending. We get a peek into all the main characters more in this one and learn more about Willa's past which had its own love triangle. These books fall into the cozy mystery genre, which I'm very new to but am loving! You get small town charm, an amateur sleuth, an array of great characters and nothing too scary so for night readers like myself you can still sleep.Win win. Pub Day is March 28! Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.
